maybe also restate a couple of the classics. Preventing (even more) vendor lock-in. (Truly) Open standards. And backed by open source (copy left) code, which is auditable and verify able (which can help security a lot)

Please at least mention it shortly. It is a real and concrete example of the previously "hypothesized" enshittification.
It is in quotes, because we saw stuff like this coming a mile away, it is was always downplayed.

werd getipt door een vriend dat https://code.overheid.nl/ eruit ligt met de melding "no available server".
Hoe kunnen/moeten we dit melden? En is er een mogelijkheid om de status te checken? (ben vast niet de eerste die dit meldt, toch?) 😉
Bonus vraag: is er iets wat wij (de burgers) kunnen doen?

Always have an exit strategy, even before you start to use a product or service. (preventing vendor lock-in)
Trigger: Was talking to a friend about service providers and wanted to more broadly share a quite well known (and thus old) advice, which the youngsters might not know about. Good advice deserves repeating.
