that makes sense, but overall in Ecuador they've done impressive work on language preservation.
Guatemala also has a significant population of various Maya groups, many who still preserve their practices and dialects despite being catholic or evangelicals.

because a lot of us are aware that settlers or disconnected outsiders believe that our ways of life are still primitive and it's funny to play into it
i'm not saying there aren't tribes that aren't 100% disconnected but even pueblos originarios have had modern developments

as a result of plundering our own countries. You really need to be detached from history to wonder why the state of immigration is the way it is. Maybe don't have your American corporations polluting the water and land. Maybe don't have your political war games causing people to flee to your country.

ICE has been a thing following 9/11 but racial harassment and discrimination against latinos/southern indigenous people is a historically documented phemonenon. Chemical baths leading up to [The Bath Riots](https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/january-28/1917-bath-riots-begin) were hitlers inspiration for gassing jews. There were [raids recorded in the early 1930s](https://www.calmigration.org/news/la-placita-olvera) close to where I am (Olvera Street). I had Mexican-American school teachers who had Americanized names because of forced assimilation policies. (Juan -> John)
The assumption that anyone is doing anything by the book under the trump administration is extremely naive or disingenuous when there are contracted bounty hunters involved, not that it's any better in my opinion. But let's not pretend that this is only about "illegals". I can't give any energy to anyone this far removed from the reality that myself and others experience in LA county. I don't want to hear any of it, especially if you haven't seen them beat agricultural workers up close to coerce them into signing paperwork, or denying people bringing their relatives blankets and medication. They pointed a gun at a pregnant woman and her children during a raid in Huntington Park while searching for her husband. They punched out a priest searching for someone on holy ground. They're constantly staging in our communities and harassing the locals. There was [an ICE agent that tried to rape a woman in the restroom](https://ktla.com/news/california/border-patrol-agent-accused-of-assaulting-long-beach-police-officer-entering-womens-bathroom/) and he later murked himself.
these mfers have been breaking a restraining order put in place because they're racially profiling the citizens of los angeles. They went into my friend's workplace, and her coworkers were also harassed, intimidated, and some were asked for identification.

Some people just get dropped off at the border these bounty hunters dgaf. They've also to let people go in exchange for other names, it's sickening. Children go missing all the time and aren't trackable in the system and a whistleblower first reported that they were sterilizing women without their consent. Anyone supporting this shit is disturbed and evil.
I would respect it a lot more if they just admitted they're racists at this point because lmao https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/05/us/georgia-battery-plant-hyundai-lg-ice-raid.html
And our country's republicans don't even pretend they're not wignats anymore https://www.politico.com/news/2025/10/14/private-chat-among-young-gop-club-members-00592146

he has never built anything himself and if you've followed his career then you'd be aware of his failed promises and terrible marketing schemes. Azealia Banks was right about him.
Fuck Elon Musk and his fuckery regarding public transportation in my state. Greedy leech. If Elon Musk wasn't an inbred Afrikaner then you would be calling him out for the deadbeat he is.

tbh that's really all I grew up with, and also raw sugar cane straight from the plant and sugar cane itself we would chew on for the juice. It's good, try it. Personally I only add a little cream to my cofe, but the rest of my family loves it black.

idk if i'm wrong but piloncillo is different right? I would assume piloncillo would add more flavor but in the states my fam just uses raw brown sugar cane.

It means that you are all genuine individuals, knowledgeable, and make fedi a pleasant experience. If someone didn't import a follow list or was new to the network, I'd recommend your three accounts without fail.

yeah honestly, I know everything they say about cofe being bad is bullshit because of how all my elders lived past 100+ (for the most part), and everyone is drinking coffee black with a ton of brown sugar on the daily.

maybe it's bc I know Germans of Nazi descent irl but they are always a little too proud 👀 and all the Germans who are normal are always overcompensating for their own history and past
