I thought I've read that #hashtags can't be found via "follow hashtag" of posts that did not have the hashtag in its initial version. Therefore, editing a post for adding hashtags doesn't work.
This does seem to confirm: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/25537
However https://fedi.tips/how-do-i-edit-posts-in-mastodon/ writes: "hashtags work if you edit them in later, but people may need to refresh their timeline or search results to make the edited post visible."
Is somebody able to clarify here?

Yes, definitively.
Most people do not practice the habit of learning their tools with a certain amount of effort.
So hip tools that do promote features prominently do have advantages.
However, as we've learned, VSC will be long gone when Emacs still offers its features. 🤷

I'm surprised that many people just seem to realize that the golden cage by #Apple is actually a golden cage! 🤷
What have you thought when you decided for that (overpriced) #lockin situation?
Of course, an #iOS device doesn't really belong to you. It's not up to you which apps you may install. You can't decide on delayed update slots. It's Apple's #cloud only. And Apple's history of business decisions is full of statements that are purely for the benefit of excluding alternatives for political and economic reasons.
Apple will never be on your side. It will always be on the side of it's shareholders and - of course - any US dictatorship that will be in power.
If this doesn't fit your set of requirements, get rid of Apple devices and use something else as long as Google hasn't destroyed #Android as well. With #Pixel (8+) and #GrapheneOS, you have the most power over your device+data, at the moment.

Out of sheer curiosity, my wife just set up her first #Linux on a computer via the #Debian 13 #Trixie netinstall: https://www.debian.org/CD/netinst/ via USB thumb drive I provided for her.
I was sitting nearby but she accomplished the task all by herself. I just explained what "LVM" means as this was not explained properly by the Debian installer.

#Lieferando scheint die erste App zu sein, die bei meinem #GrapheneOS Probleme macht: nach Eingabe von E-Mail-Adresse (als Benutzername) und Klick auf "Get verification code" kommt "Something went wrong" + GOS-Info, dass die Play Integrity API verwendet wurde.
Da ich den API-Zugriff nicht blockiere, kann ich die App wohl nicht mehr am Handy nutzen. 🤷

I upgraded my lenovo #T490 from #NixOS 24.11 to 25.05 within an hour or so.
I've lost "xdu" (custom package doesn't compile anymore), had to manually download a closed source binary once again, had to manually replace "okular" with "kdePackages.okular" and remove "services.locate.localuser".
The upgrade went somewhat fine. Didn't find any issues so far besides the usual Python annoyances (manual re-creation of all venv and so forth).
However, I'm looking forward to switching back to #Debian in a few months. My Debian upgrades didn't require that much time and effort AFAIR and #Python is working in a normal way.

One of the few systems that isn't hackable by #Palantir and other bad actors.
If you do want protection, do yourself a favor and switch to #GrapheneOS using a (cheap/used/older) #Pixel phone. Recommended: Pixel 8 or newer.

Use FIDO2 hardware tokens for Passkeys. They're designed not to sync their secret and are the only(!) way of preventing phishing. A no-brainer and the only method for maximum security.

However, if your bootup time is much longer than mine (15-30s once a week) then you most probably have room for improvement (if you want). Consistent use of #usepackage with dependencies and "defer" did help on my side.

Paper surely has its advantages, I totally agree.
Just to make it more complicated: there are awesome eink tablets like Boox Note Air series that provide a hybrid. I recommend the videos of My Deep Guide on YT. The guy also sells PDF-based planners you might be interested in. HTH

Wrong direction.
Moving from a FOSS solution to a closed source solution is not good for your future self.
With Obsidian, you introduce lock-in by using features you can't get outside as well as a ton of MD syntax extensions that won't work outside.

One of the #productivity boosters of 2024 was the (rather late) learning that I can scroll horizontally by pressing the shift key while scrolling with the #mouse wheel.
I don't care about hitting scroll bars any more.

#GrapheneOS doesn't come with text-to-speech enabled or set up by default.
https://github.com/espeak-ng/espeak-ng is not compatible with the current Android versions and https://github.com/RHVoice/RHVoice doesn't have support for #German.
Any recommendation for me? FOSS preferred. 🤔

High on my wishlist for #Android is a separation of the app #network #permission into "general network permission" and either "current (E)SSID only" or "the network with following gateway host".
This way I could limit many apps, e.g., to my home Wi-Fi because they are of no use outside my home anyway: lawn mower, KODI, ...
Unfortunately, #GrapheneOS doesn't want to implement that idea: https://github.com/GrapheneOS/os-issue-tracker/issues/4064 😩

Setting up #Debian on a notebook computer (Surface Pro 3) is still not a straight-forward task. 😔
You still need an expert to set it up or you need to choose a more user-friendly distribution like #Xubuntu and accept the #Ubuntu downsides.

I personally prefer #vim for small modifications in text files of all sorts.
Not because #Emacs would be bad for that task.
The reasons are that I know both environments and my Emacs does all sorts of things during startup.
On my main host, this would hardly be an issue due to #emacsclient.
However, on all other machines (or users), I'd need to have to maintain a ssh-key-chain to transparently use my main Emacs over the network, sometimes multiple hops. That's tedious to me.
