You’re right. Back in the day, brands could endure. Nowadays, we can see through them, and people aren’t brand-loyal like we used to be.
If corporations want to be people, we can treat them as people. And when they show us their cowardice in the face of fascism, we can ostracise them just like we do that intolerable uncle.

Smithsonian used to be a very prestigious brand of science.
Too bad that’s now been ruined.
I’d really hoped they’d stand up to the fascism, but apparently no. That was too much to ask.

Pack one for poor Claudia. My fingers were slippery with alcohol after I dipped her for cleaning, and now she’s gone. Several years of faithful service. She’ll be missed. :(

It’s really good at making us *feel* like it’s intelligent, but that’s no more real than a good VR headset convincing us to walk into a physical wall.
It’s a meta version of VR.

People have been saying that to me for years – often angrily – but honestly, every game I’ve ever seen has been like 5 minutes of game during which a guy touches another guy the wrong way, followed by a foul or something, then at least a half hour of back-to-back replays interspersed with a few guys debating every aspect of the way each guy touched another guy, plus at least ten minutes of advertising, then repeat.
I’m pretty sure even fans wouldn’t disagree with my timing breakdown.
eta: it sounds annoying broken down like that, but I’d argue fans should be annoyed at the industry, rather than at non-fans.
