Because there is no place on earth having capitalism!! What you have is cronyism or corpocratism. Together with communism that's basically all the choices you have. And I agree it's also tight to the fiat money system but not only. Als Long as people demand solutions from the state they will never get freedom, they will get regulation. A state is here to protect you, not to solve your problems!

Using qr codes is not easy. Tapping is easy. Yet not a single vendor/wallet implemented a standard the financial industry already set years ago. But it would be so easy to understand. Of you go on a festival and grab a beer, what takes you longer, placing the other or settling the bill. Current solutions are not mass adoptable, sorry. And yes, I totally agree, reinforcing what we have doesn't onboard a single person. Not a vendor nor a client.

Worshipping any religion is stupid by design. You can tell someone about it, in good faith. After that it's that persons problem to end up in hell or whatever. So what do you care about! "Some" (actually all) religions are not religions they are an instrument of power and control.

As humans we should strive for optimality but we hide in normality. And who dedicated that we should remove all the spirituality we used to have and practice. We turned into robots and now real robots are taking our only meaning left, having a job.

2026-10-14 19:25:27 GMT

Fair. Gauss tried to answer what you can do if there is no square. If you simply don't know what is the "square" of a species heart rate. You can only measure so many samples and draw conclusions. That's why it's normal and not like optimal. I think this is the message people should learn; normal does not mean optimal! Never!

2026-10-14 19:06:58 GMT

- reply

Gauss defined what is normal. And yes not only behaviour also weight, height, hormone levels are subject to change and thus there is a new "normal" every now and then. Since this is statistics, normal is a probability distribution and no-one really knows what is normal. And for sure "normal" does not equal "best", it used to be normal to smoke.

Image to run a bar at a festival and you have like a queue as far as you can see and then you wait like a minute for a payment. That's why systems like twint, bizum and this exact solution are nothing to be proud of. What merchants need is a terminal you hold your NFC card or phone to, it makes beep and the transaction is done in. 2 seconds meaning at least 30x faster.

@npub17fe…nzuc sharing notes to different platforms i.e. WhatsApp or whatever has 2 problems:
1. The embedded preview is the general nostrich one and has zero relation to the shared note
2. If the note happens to be on a different relay it can't be displayed at all, even I could share it from nostrich.

1st nostr would need to be promoted using one client because that confuses people the most. Let people onboard on one, they can and will develop taste from there.
2nd you then need a big marketing campaign for this one client on all the other social medias.
3rd It would help to have a celebrity here. Like a real one not some famous bitcoiner.

As a first timer I would always opt for Ubuntu. Biggest community, biggest app support via various package repositories and easy to understand. Gui is clean simple and complete. PopOS if you are a developer and or if you have an Nvidia card. Still based on Ubuntu but suits this cases much better.
Then I would explore taste from there using a VM.

Why is the only content here on nostr one of bitcoin, nostr or food? At this point in time the only accounts you can follow are basically bots. Which is a pity because the protocol is clearly superior to everything else out there.

2026-09-17 13:07:32 GMT

And this is probably also true for bitcoin and co. But what is also missing is marketing. Someone would have to pick a client and start a massive promotion campaign. The other clients will also win. Because once people are on the platform they can and will express their taste.

2026-09-17 13:02:09 GMT

- reply

Sadly true. Even after the information suppression people experienced live during COVID, they prefer a simple mainstream single solution. You can't install nostr, you have to pick one of 1000 clients and so on. It like Linux with distributions and packege managers. I get it it's all nice and cool and you can choose. But that's not how to attract the mass and thus there will never be more engagement as there is. It's a pity I really wish people would switch over.

It's too late, if it's possible someone is doing it regardless. It's better it's done in public than in some lab somewhere. Ai does what you teach it and what you ask it to do. In the end it's all a marketing stunt, keeping evaluations high enough to refinance their huge debt one more time and then IPO.
