@nprofile…dlth The way I see it, if I need range I will use the internal combustion engines, unless I am driving outside of town I don't need 200 miles of range. When you take into account weight, gasoline powered cars are more efficient anyway. Yes, lithium and hydrogen have very high theoretical energy densities but the real world energy density is the only one that matters. Besides, if the battery is too big I wouldn't want to risk a fire because an individual cell decides to explode.

@nprofile…dlth I prefer plug in hybrids because I like the efficiency and low cost of internal combustion engines but with a plug in hybrid I don't have to use the gas engine simply to drive around town. Until I can afford to buy a nice plug in hybrid in cash I will simply use a e bike or a shitbox that I can afford for cash.

@nprofile…dlth @nprofile…x9jw This is nice. Does Vivaldi have plans for private tabs with Tor? If so, does Vivaldi wish to help the Tor network by running fast Tor exit nodes?

@nprofile…dlth I have been trying out the new currency conversion widget. Do you have plans to make it available on the sidebar? Also, as an advocate of hard money I would ask as to whether or not you plan to add the price of gold, silver, copper, platinum, palladium and goldbacks to the currency conversion widget in addition to fiat currencies.

@nprofile…vvfe I think deepseek is awesome because OpenAIs entire business model is based on AI models being expensive to train, expensive to run and hardware costing a lot of money. If you can make an AI many times more efficient, uncensored, local and free as in freedom, then openAI has no moat. Why pay when I can use the computer I already have.

@nprofile…dlth The mistake myOpera made was that given enough support from Opera, they could have carved out a significant niche in the social media space if they had simply stood by their product and the people who used it. Getting 35 million monthly users is not exactly easy, and the fact that there were so many eyeballs in one place is valuable on its own.

@npub1zva…e2q5 It is incredibly annoying when I respond to someone instead of addressing my argument and responding in part they delete their post like a coward.

@npub120z…33r2 Why PHP though? Why not Ruby like mastodon or Golang/HTMX/SQlite/OpenBSD.

@npub1wjw…ue5t When will protonmail support S/MIME 4.0 with 4096 bit RSA, AES-256 and SHA3? How are your efforts to standardize pqsafe OpenPGP going?
