The #Bitcoin power law persists. Autocorrelation of weekly history corrected to second order.
Left chart: Log-log thus a straight line. Age^5.68
Right chart: Same fit log-linear plot, so curved lines, added -1, +1, +2 standard deviation lines and projection forward for next 20 years, if the anti-fragile and Lindy power law continues in similar fashion. https://image.nostr.build/9ac135f2446d40d827f0493f62de5651f4b285aa861163e8b0c55325f27a587b.jpg https://image.nostr.build/7cd8b70f83244d0bdf9ff6ce6721f90cbdc798b928f0416904fc2fd64fc0c4b0.jpg

On other thing, a disinflationary currency can be (is) more natural for this demographic era with population peaking in Europe and East Asia incl. China and workforce age cohort shrinking in the most productive economies (US peaked 2020?, that are also loaded up with debt and facing slow growth). #Bitcoin Not discounting rapid tech-driven AI and more growth but population segment in prime spending years is falling in wealthier economies.

If the fiat authorities are provoked to global thermonuclear or global ‘conventional’ war by some cascade of events related to defending, promoting respective currency regimes (e.g. $,€ vs. BRCS+). ‘Spreadsheet’ term feels weak, given extreme security with Zettahash scale of enforced scarcity: an exponentially hardened and decentralized ledger

Work, energy = power x time (POW) creates value. #Bitcoin

#Bitcoin Maximalism is self-evident since Bitcoin has always had, and will continue to have, the highest market cap. As a result of maximal energy input. We hold this truth to be self-evident.

Gold coins all had a standard amount of metal and fineness defined. All identical until a debasement declared. #Bitcoin is fungible but each from a different block has a different amount of energy, time, and crypto power encapsulated. #invert

I was at a party and a young girl was trying to impress me that she was at McKinsey. I have a Harvard PhD since 1977, did not mention that. Probably helped me understand Bitcoin, but it was the exponential hardening of all prior blocks that really did it for me: https://nostr.build/i/7921be8b1f0584cb712b65c0eab1556fc329b6f9863b0048db74cd58e0bd6dc4.jpg

They would have to fork the chain and all the smart
people will choose the original 21 million max. chain. Maybe the new chain acts as a small dividend. The new chain would have a highly devalued token with greater supply and much smaller hash rate. High security is key to value (see BCH, BSV).

Ironic that the most secure, scarcest, most energetic property on Earth is one-dimensional and ‘virtual’. But it’s not ‘virtual’ it’s locked into repeating patterns of electrons on thousands upon thousands of #Bitcoin full nodes. And millions of wallets.

2023-04-18 08:29:07 GMT

There are only four altcoins with market caps over 1 million #Bitcoin ‘s worth. And two of those are just stablecoins, basically fiat substitutes, no upside. That leaves the quasi-corporate cartel and elite controlled Ethereum and basically one man show CZ’s coin.

It’s not just that there is an absolute 21 million supply cap and a highly decentralized ledger for #Bitcoin. But also critical is the unrivaled security of 376 Exahashes/sec and the first mover. Bitcoin Cash caps at 21 million but is worth little, 0.4% of the Real Thing. Security and Scarcity drive value.

The White House’s proposal for a surtax on Bitcoin mining is poorly thought through. Bitcoin is a valuable circular economy asset, over 1/2 minted from green inputs.

Seems like #softwar thesis could result in the DOD wanting its own hashpower or issuing contracts (including straight BTC purchases) for cyber defense reasons, and yet the White House (and presumably Treasury supports this ill-advised concept), is proposing a 30% electricity tax on #Bitcoin min(t)ing. Better idea: tax credits for green and methane-based BTC minting. And fiat bonds to build a national strategic Bitcoin reserve.

AskAI edition of GPT has a different take: "72 beautiful galaxies" could refer to a number of things, but it is most likely a reference to the 72 galaxies that were included in a catalog of deep-sky objects compiled by the French astronomer Charles Messier in the 18th century. These galaxies are known as the Messier objects and are some of the most famous and visually stunning objects in the night sky. They include galaxies, star clusters, and nebulae, and are popular targets for amateur and professional astronomers alike. The term "beautiful" is often used to describe these objects because of their striking colors, intricate details, and unique shapes.

Read it some years ago, found it interesting as a counter argument to the usual first they bartered with shells myth/story. Seems logical that in tribal societies there would be debts first between members (cows, bride price, whatever) that would be on a handshake basis or adjudicated with the chief. Later moved to a ledger at the temple and in agrarian society a bushel of wheat, etc. could be accounting unit and off to the races as trading networks spread one searched for more durable, universal form of money. #debtprecededmoney
