I wanted to go watch the Junkmaster work, but didn’t feel like walking, so I drove the truck to the back of the yard.
He was just getting ready to power wash his Challenger. It has been parked for a few years, but is running now.
He washed the truck for me first, it had moss growing on it, looks better now!

A few years after we met, I bought his motorcycle when he got a new one.
He had spent a few summers in Alaska on a fish buying boat.
We went up to Valdez together. Ferry from Bellingham WA to South East Alaska. From there we still had to drive about 1100 miles through the Yukon and then back into Alaska.
At the end of the summer, he rode back all the way, I put mine on a company boat heading back to my home town Port Angeles WA.

My oldest friend is still a man of adventure!
We met in 1981!
He lives in Idaho now. This week they drove up to the mountains at about six thousand feet to find some snow for cross country skiing.
He is my age (early 60s) and there is no way my knees or stamina is up to that these days.

So when I took the first picture, I didn’t know it was a sideways truck that Donny was working next to
I missed the excitement when he had the dump truck loaded with about 4 or 5 scoops of that stuff and it tipped over on the driver side
Dump bed got tweaked
He used the loader to tip it upright before I noticed it happened
Landed about where the loader is behind the upright truck after towing back to the pavement
Just a yard truck anyway, no brakes

Just got the fire going
Wood was kind of wet, so paper and charcoal lighter fluid to start and some vegetable cooking oil to keep it from going out
That stuff is pretty safe to pour on a burning fire unlike the fluid or gas
Burns good too!

2:51 PST and sunset isn’t until about 4:55
Got here at 1:30, so a few hours to enjoy the view
Costs about twice as much as the nice nearby state park, but I spotted this place on the way up the coast last month and decided it was worth it for the view
Has full hookups including sewer plus a strong WiFi signal
Going to light a fire soon and drink some bourbon mules with some spicy ginger ale

Maps says 3 hours from Salem, I took more like 5

I just made reservations for tonight at Seal Rocks RV park
Most sites have at least partial ocean view and they have a community fire pit/ picnic area with great views of the big rocks just offshore

Outhouse is a couple hundred meters away
Managed to drop a load there during a lull in the rain about 5am
Too rainy to even step outside to pee on the ground so I just open the door and piss into the wind
There is a dump on site, waiting for a break in the storm before I drive over to it
Last night’s storm had winds 20+ with gusts in the 40mph range
Camper was really bouncing around

I haven’t bought any media from Apple since I got my iPhone
I did buy some on iTunes years ago when I had an iPod Nano
I now have some shows stored on my phone for viewing when no streaming is available

One thing I miss about living in a house instead of the camper for extended periods of time is a comfortable chair
Not even a big recliner, a plush armchair with a footstool would be fine
I only have the benches for the dinette table
I can get pretty comfortable with extra pillows, but just not the same for extended periods of lounging

This home smoked cheddar and dilly beans from last summer plus crackers were part of a holiday gift basket from friends
Woke up at midnight hungry for this and was very disappointed when I couldn’t find the tin of sardines I thought I had in the cupboard

Just poked around my new Apple TV app with my first iPhone
Since data availability has been an impedance to video streaming
No TV for two weeks now
Past me downloaded all of #StarTrekTOS and at least one episode of #FireFly
Will have to up my download game once the internet tubes are bigger
S1E1 now on my phone screen!
