Hemp is another great source of Omega 3 : 6 and there's all that nice protein in the chia seeds so that makes sense with them moulting . Broccoli is rich in antioxidants and I wish I could get Jadie to even look at it 😂

Good morning everyone ☀️ A bit murky here and chilly enough for the heating to come on a couple of times overnight, but it's supposed to be a warm day. The #parrots are all munching happily and Jadie isn't even throwing her food out because I added some dried off sprouts to her bowl this morning, which is progress 😊 Ziggy and I had a lovely cuddle with her tucked up under my chin making her little purring noises of contentment. She can be so calm at times, and yet she is still determinedly destroying her tail, with more of it being chewed off every day. She's not quite as bad as she was when she started, but she's not finished with it yet. When we have her out distraction is the only thing that works. She loves empty yoghurt cups (who needs expensive #parrot toys? 😂), so there are loads lying around the living room at the moment ☺️ #petsofmastodon #birdsofmastodon #BirdsOfFediverse #goodmorning

Good morning everyone ☀️ Grant kindly got up for the #parrots again today (I'll take over again tomorrow) and is currently snoozing downstairs with them before going to work, so I just crept to the bathroom and back like a wobbly ninja so I don't make any noise to alert Ziggy to my presence. It's not easy to keep silent on the top floor of a creaky house, but somehow I have managed it 😂 The things we do because of those birds! Yesterday I had to keep jumping up during work calls to close the living room door, because Toby started screeching the place down as soon as he heard my voice. I can't even sit in the room with him for long at the moment because he screams at me. It's a behaviour not to be encouraged so the best thing is just to say nothing, ignore him and walk away. He doesn't do it with Grant so it's probably hormonal (isn't it always! 😊) #petsofmastodon #birdsofmastodon #BirdsOfFediverse #goodmorning

Good morning everyone 🌄 I'm up later today as I managed to tire myself out a bit yesterday and Grant got up for the #parrots today. They kindly kept quiet this morning too, so I had a nice long lie. I now have a #coffee and am sitting with them listening to Classic FM while Jadie yells "Squish! Squish!" at me 😂 Like many of Jadie's vocalisations we're not sure what it means, but she only ever does it in the morning. #petsofmastodon #birdsofmastodon #BirdsOfFediverse #goodmorning
I'm not quite sure yet what to be up to today, but it will be either #crochet or #gaming as I need to take it a bit easier today and I managed to get most of the weekly parrot chores and some housework done yesterday.

Good Moo everyone! I'm glad to report all is well in #Parrot Central today. All of the #parrots are happily munching their breakfast after a play session with Ziggy in which she pretended to go into her cage, then flew back out to the couch and "Tee hee hee" d while throwing my phone to the floor a few times, managing to take a selfie in the process 😂 Let me tell you, phone biometric locks do not work with parrots. Somehow they always manage to unlock them. Maybe that's why pirates always had a parrot around ☺️ #petsofmastodon #birdsofmastodon #BirdsOfFediverse #goodmorning
Off to the post office and Lidl for parrot fresh food shopping this morning, then I need to make chop and boil up some cous cous for them later. I also need to sort out their dry food mixes for the next few days. If there's any time left I will #crochet for a bit. I'm working on a Kids' drawing toy for a birthday gift.

I think Toby may have returned the favour. He was screeching quite badly for a bit earlier and an Eclectus screech is ear shattering. Mind you, if the neighbours didn't hear their own alarm then they must wear ear plugs or something.

Good morning everyone 🌻 I was woken at 3 am with the neighbours' car alarm going off, it basically went off until it stopped itself about half an hour later and even now I can hear the horn beeping every now and then. This has of course totally freaked out the #parrots. Ziggy is refusing to come out of her cage, Jadie is cowering at the back of hers, Toby screeches the place down if I try to leave the room, and not one of them has tried to eat their breakfast yet 🥺 I've put on Classic FM in hopes it will help to calm them all a bit. #petsofmastodon #birdsofmastodon #BirdsOfFediverse #goodmorning
My neighbours have alarms on everything. Why, I do not know, because a) we live in a village which is hardly Crime Central and b) they never respond to the sodding things going off 😤 Ziggy, the smallest, but always the bravest, has just gone down to eat. Hopefully this will now encourage the other two.

Good morning you lovely lot 💕 It is Monday again 😱 Still, a lovely little cuddle with Ziggy this morning started the week out nicely. Then, as I was taking the covers off, she followed that up with a nip to my chest. This all because one day, quite some time ago now, I accidentally bonked her with the edge of one of the covers as I was struggling to get it off due to it being caught on a perch attachment. It didn't hurt her, but it gave her a fright, so now I get the chest nip and her saying "Uh uh!" most mornings. #Parrots, like elephants, never forget 😂 #petsofmastodon #birdsofmastodon #BirdsOfFediverse #goodmorning
Work today and an early phone battle with Vodafone on the cards since they accidentally cancelled my mobile phone and then charged me the cancellation fee! (they were supposed to cancel a mobile broadband dongle). No doubt I will spend some time chatting to another of their friendly Indian call centre team.

Good morning everyone 🌅 I'm up late today as Grant is going on an #RSPB work party today and got up for the #parrots. Also, I managed to completely knacker myself out yesterday by stupidly spending a few hours doing #parrot kitchen duties before going out with my daughter for the day. You think after having #mecfs for nearly ten years I would learn by now 🤔 Anyway, food for the next couple of weeks is all prepped and frozen, so I don't have to worry about it for a while again 😊
Going to take it easy today though, and maybe actually finally play a game on the new laptop I bought a couple of weeks ago 😂

We've discovered that he is sensitive to it - pretty sure it has been the cause of the night time wing flipping we were seeing. As you'll know though, just about every blooming seed mix has corn in it! 😂
