OK. So the ID is fixed, but the sending/receiving addresses are independently ratcheted (2 ratchets), and only the ratcheted addresses are exposed during transmit.
I'm so used to thinking of id's and addresses as the same because they are both identifiers. Here the identity is fixed and private while the addresses are ephemeral and public.

Got it. The nuance is missing in the marketing material in SimpleX. Both have identity, but your identity system is ratcheted, just like the messages, allowing for forward secrecy of the identity too. Is that right?

Yes I like Keychat's ability to monetize without depending on grants, but it's all for not if users can't protect themselves from a privacy perspective. SimpleX managed to work without requiring identity, which is why I asked this question.

Identity or lack their of is measured by the size of the anonymity set. 1/99999
As your anonymity set shrinks you become less anonymous, and whatever data you reveal /can/ reduce your anonymity set.
I feel like both are tools to protect you, but one is asking for permission, and the other is not.
Anonymity is also a foot gun because like you said, once your anonymity set is small enough, you have to then ask for forgiveness.

GraphineOS with different logged in profiles isn't too bad, and also orbot with some apps routing through it, with others on clearnet. Orbit has this feature, choose apps, that routes any app through TOR. You just need to enable it properly in VPN mode:

You are referring to an arbitrary milepost, and I am referring to the direction we are going to or from that milepost. Feeling full by setting the ratio of fat/protein ratio, I can calibrate my calorie intake to lose or maintain weight.
Carbs only cause cravings that lead to over eating because there isn't enough fat to trigger a natural full feeling. Instead I just get hungry constantly making me feel like I have to limit my calories to not gain weight. It's a recipe for failure.
On keto/carnivore, I just focus on ratio, and eat until I'm full. I don't hold back.
