Jigme Datse

The Uganda farm things I've had any connection with, it was pretty clear with a bit of interaction, that the stories didn't add up. But that's because I know that just because you're somewhere different the amount of space a plant needs to grow and be productive doesn't change.
I don't expect my mangos (fast sprouting, but strong tendency to decide it's had enough of living), avocados (take forever to sprout, but when they do, tend to live a long time (and be rather unattractive)), or papaya (this is new to me, but I didn't expect any survival, but from a single papaya, I have hundreds of seedlings) to produce anything.
They are still fun. Figs probably are about the closest I'm likely to be able to handle to produce in that general "warm part of the world plants" and honestly they'll take a lot of babying to survive the winters even the most hardy varieties.
That said. Growing tomatoes in a 4-8 litre pot... Not likely to get anything unless it's like some specific variety.
Gaza, it doesn't jive with me, but I can't assess well enough. Nor do I think that the person behind the assessments is able to either.
People being dishonest bothers me. People being honest about not really needing something, but having a hankering for something that's fine.

Yeah... none of it's business... Good luck sorting this.

Apparently kisses are, "hi family member, good to see you." And "dogs mouths are way cleaner than humans..." I'm not entirely I believe both of these. I don't know of any humans who have gone for a good poopsicle or poocrisp...

I went out to look to see if I could gather some smaller pieces of apple wood to look at for the pens. I got 3 pieces, that I think all would be more than enough for a single pen.
I don't really know how it will end up looking. Even the very rough work that I've done with it so far, it actually looks like it could be a really nice wood when worked. Though possibly not the *best* wood.
Nice to do a little bit of #woodworking. To move forward getting those #fountainpens together.

Just checked, "unexpected delays" with the shipment that was ordered... Friday before last? Oh no, it looks like it was Saturday. The 7th. I'm not sure what the delivery standard is, but when it arrives I'll probably get in touch to see if this was too long. I *think* it as 3-6 days. At least from the merchant's site.
Checked the pickle... I think I'll call it that. It's not getting to pickling yet. But not really expected. It was probably around 44 hours since I started? I don't really expect it to start fermentation until somewhere closer to 72 hours. Unless I throw some starter in (like from a previous batch).
Not much else. Did a quick test of the pen/ink combination. Not doing it for me. Might see if I have a dip pen to try. That might be an option. Really not been happy with #FountainPens. Maybe just not for me, or I'm doing something wrong. I don't know.
I don't really have much more to say. I think I'll try to get some sleep.
Thank you everyone. Take care.

OK, I see where it might look like it's embedded (Ie. they are somehow loading it on their site), but I read:
> hundreds of IP address details
as pointing to something like a `<img src=` attribute variable. Seems fair to be unsure as to what means.

I think this may be a fail2ban solution needed here, not a simple iptables solution. Because from what I'm reading, it's hotlinking the image... You don't see CBC IP address. You see *their* visitor's IP address. At least that's what I'm reading. I may well be very mistaken.
They also have used my image... So CBC isn't terribly good at things.

I'm curious how mac and cheese can be so spicy to not be able to finish the whole thing... But then sometimes I find something is too spicy so I put a little bit of Ebesse Zozo "mild" sauce on.
https://www.ebessezozo.com/
I'm not a huge fan of way way too spicy. But if I'm using this stuff, and someone hands me something that's "really spicy" I usually go, "well let's see..."
Usually it's not.

Would my life be improved with any of what you are talking about? You're talking about forums, and the forums that I have been interested in the past have been ones that are often hard enough to even get people involved with them. Not that a "big" broad platform isn't of interest. I've tried to run such things.
Thanks for not asking for that answer.

A lot of what I was saying there, was "processing things". Like I find it odd that just general being a decent human being, has such an impact. I wish I could do more. But then I look at the "really good neighbours" that we have. And honestly I feel lonely thinking about that. So yeah, I kind of get it. I think it sucks that this is the reality we live in.

I know this may seem "weird". It kind of does even to me, and I'm the one saying it. I find the genuine thanks for me just being decent enough to say, "hey take care of yourself" or whatever version of that I share to be... I can't say what. It's partially that I really wish I could do a *lot* more than just say, "hey hang in there." I feel I'm mostly saying this because I want to acknowldege my weird feelings about people ... well I guess that people clearly see so little kindness... Maybe that's it. Like I will walk down the street and smile and nod at some people and they totally light up. Some I "know" whereas others just feel (I assume based on the ones I actually talk to) very isolated, that even a smile and a nod is a big deal.

Please take care. And as I saw mentioned, ice packs may be quite useful. It's been a while, so it probably isn't a thing you need to be careful, as they can cause more problems if it's too soon after. It's been a while since I "topped up" my first aid, injury, sports medicine type knowledge. So I could be mistaken.

I think $44.00 in itch.io sales, that seems like it's something worth thinking is maybe OK. But don't you have to pay something like $100/year to be on iOS store?

I'm not sure what to call what's going on down there... But it's not democracy. Mind you, many have argued that it's not been democracy for quite some time (it's never really been a democracy as far as they're concerned). There are terms I'd apply, but I'm not sure how many are technically correct. Or if technically correct, a useful term.

I don't think I've done an #Introduction here yet. Why? Largely because I didn't really think about it, but also because I really hate doing these sorts of thing. But hey, it's a good thing to do.
I moved over from @npub1y03…3csy as I was really frustrated with Mastodon, and more so that certain things with Mastodon are pretty hard to change (and not to my needs). I *could* have hosted my own instance, but I'd tried that, and ended up with it just not working out.
I run my main computers on #Linux, but I do "maintain" a couple of iPads, as it's nice to have something of the sort. I run various "net" stuff most of it various #Fediverse stuff (I'm not running my #Mastodon instance, I have #MastoHost for that). I've built a bunch of tools for myself, and most of them I have something about it over on my #Forgejo instance https://code.jigmedatse.com/
I try to run a weekly watch party on Tuesdays, watching Internet Archive films (mind you some of the stuff in my collection has come from other sources, it *may* happen that I have stuff that's not actually there occasionally).
I have chronic pain, and am autistic. Many days are just really rough. I post a daily "update" at the end of the day. Largely as a way to just say those things. Sometimes it's close to what the Mastodon limit was (500 characters), but most of the time it's over 1000, sometimes over 3000... I think once or twice it was over 6000.
The poll size was another thing with Mastodon that was a "practical reason" to move. I only had 4 options maximum there, and here (out of the box with Misskey/Sharkey) I have 10 options. I'm totally self hosting, so if I decide to change those limits... I can.
I guess that's about it. Maybe some people have things that I missed...

Awesome. Glad that people who *do* have connections actually care about this. I have the technical knowledge to see the technical flags as to why a site looks suspicious, but there's not much I really can do about it.
What I *do* do about it, is share what I notice when I do some level of investigation. Hopefully with the understanding that just because of any of those things in particular (or even all of them) it doesn't *prove* that something is worth considering "suspicious" or "a scam".
I take it someone contacted you of a bad experience?

Contact Google about this (they don't really care, but Breville should also do so, and actually do so with a "cease and desist" type legal letter, that they *will* care about). By looking (because of your post) shows it's hosted on Google, has *full* domain privacy, while breville.com (where I'd probably go first) has full information, and is using AWS.
Performance absolutely for me is a red flag. The fake one takes 2 minutes to load. The real one 21 seconds.
More subtle things, fonts are wrong. And to me, pointing out, "this is a bad site" tends to be not that useful. I've *seen* bad sites for banks in a 3,000 population city. Pretty much *just* that one city really served by it. Not that people knowing about that aren't helped, but spotting the fakes is more important.
In doing that, that got me looking at my own site, at least to see if I can find something useful with it. Thank you. Also, I'd probably be trying to find someone local to buy from (not that they didn't get scammed).
