Data loss has scarred me in my childhood, so I don't want it to happen to you. Our family lost all our silent projector film home videos from the 70s and early 80s. My dad was catatonic. It is similar, maybe worse, I imagine, to losing your entire bitcoin stack in an unintentional boating accident.
Anyway, I don't think about it anymore but the anguish resurfaces every now and then. The latest was when I started to stumble upon providing data storage with ParmaDrive...
I think this thorn in my side is what has kept me obsessed in the last weeks. I'm in this deep and will do everything in my power to make your data private, and more important - to make sure you don't lose it.
I'll be writing a full guide soon on how to make the most out of your ParmanodL and ParmaDrive, but for now, I want to share this feature I'm pretty pleased about...
I've mentioned in a poorly visible tweet in the past that if you stored your data on a ParmaDrive at home, and a burglar took it, they'd normally have access to your images/videos.
The solution to this is have the entire drive encrypted with a strong password.
An important convenience is to have the drive unlock itself so you don't have to keep manually typing passwords at reboots.
Unfortunately, this automation means that if your computer/disks are stolen, the thieves have the same access to the automation and access to your drives.

Parman has got your back!
A ParmaDrive has a heartbeat to the Parmanent Server (still deciding on a name), and it knows if your computer has left the house, or if the machine has been switched off or offline for more than 10 minutes.
This triggers a disabling of the automation and boot-up drive decryption, making access to your drive impossible.
You of course have the password and can manually unlock your drives at any time, and you can also remotely disable the automated unlock yourself easily.
It's not available yet, but ParmaDrive users will be able to connect to the Server for encrypted backups (no, of course, I can't see the data, it'll be encrypted before I get it).
Should there be a disaster, you can download your data from the Server, or it can be shipped to you by courier - Yeah, the delivery can't be trusted, it's a single point of failure, so, of course, I'll have a copy during transit, confirm you received it, and only then delete the redundant copy (or keep it for continued backup).
Oh yeah, ParmaDrives are also full Bitcoin ParmanodL nodes.

Compound Annual Growth Rate is analogous to the semitone growth through an octave. How...
All self-respecting musicians already know that the frequency interval of a note grows by the 12th root of 2, which is 1.059463 (ie each semitone "grows" by 5.9463% from one to the next above). The note above A440 is B flat. That is 440*1.059463=466.16 Hertz.
The 12th root of 2 is a number that if you multiply itself 12 times, you get 2.
The upper note in an octave is 2x the frequency of the lower note by definition, and there 12 semitone equal increments from the lower note to the upper note).
Without getting into "equal" temperament vs "well" temperament (a fascinating side topic), the lower note is increased by 5.9563%, through 12 semitones to the upper note, finally resulting in 2x. The A above A440 is A880.
How is this analogous to CAGR?
Well, if you started with $1000, and it doubled in 12 years, the CAGR of your investment is worked out the same way, and is the same value of 5.9563%. The growth rate per interval, in this case the interval is a year.
I overcomplicated it didn't I? It's OK, musicians will get it no, especially piano turners.

I now am building ParmanodL 16TB NAS machines with NextCloud (self-hosted cloud data).
What does this mean? Besides running a Bitcoin node, with the 16TB drive, I'm configuring it so you can connect any home computer to it and it works like a drive on your other machine, even if it's Mac or Windows.
And with NextCloud, you can have your own personal cloud. You'll have to buy a domain, and I'll help configure the connection. Then from anywhere, you can access your data, like people do with Google Drive - phone, PC, tablet, whatever.
Below is a picture of my Mac Desktop with the drive icon to my NAS, and a window open showing how I can explore/copy/paste files.
Note that RAID is optional.

Did you know you can make a QR code on your computer from the command line fairly easily? Parman's #NerdTips ...
Step 1 - Install Parmanode on Mac or Linux (or update to 3.52.1)
Step 2 - From the main menu, select "t" for tools, "n" for the next page, then "qr" for the menu (if QRencode isn't installed, Parmanode will do that).
Step 3 - Then you'll have a menu. Choose info to see the commands to DIY QR code any text or file, or choose "pub" to get a QR of your computer's SSH public.
It's a handy way to extract text from your computer. If you have a ParmAirGap, it will be installed on that to help you get data out; helps minimise connecting USB drives.
Later, If I think of useful options for QRs I'll add it, or on request.

Reality, as opposed to imaginary land, starts with logic (nothing is real if logic doesn't exist, it has to be the base layer). How can something come from nothing? It can't, logic always exists. Proof... "Is it true there is nothing?", "Yes", "Then there is truth, which is not nothing". So, total nothing can't exist, QED (Nothing exists partially, eg in a Liberal's head, but absolute total nothing, absence of reality and logic, can't.)
2)
Given logic exists, all mathematics (known to us or not) then just exists arising from logic. No consciousness is required for this.
3)
Somehow uncertainty is introduced, which necessitates the existence of spacetime (fundamental nature of universe is demonstrates uncertainty, and if there is no spacetime nothing can be uncertain), then we get from that, all the laws of physics that we know and the ones we still don't know.
If God exists, I think he's influence would be at this point, introducing/creating uncertainty and therefore spacetime.
4)
From this point we have better understanding, no new insights from me... From physics we get chemistry, from that biology, and from that, consciousness.

Think of the treble clef (upper 5 lines) and base clef (lower 5 lines) being connected by an imaginary line in-between (middle C).
This gives you 11 "continuous" lines.
The alto clef works on the same "map" - the 5 lines are just the central 5 lines of those 11. Its central line is middle C, upper 2 overlaps with treble, lower 2 overlaps with base.
