SpaceX’s stock gains have evaporated.
Following SpaceX’s successful IPO, during which the stock even briefly touched $225 at one point, those gains have since evaporated. Yesterday’s quarterly results—despite very positive revenue figures and a loss that was less severe than expected—have not yet been able to reverse this trend.
In after-hours trading, the stock was down more than 7 percent. The reason: spending billions on artificial intelligence instead of... ehm... space?

I didn't claim mastodon.social or any instance by name and I wont reveal sources.

You asked mastodon.social, a larger player in the federated network space. But what about your [own] self-hosted instances like mastodon.ar.al, neoaquita.es, or hachyderm.io? Many instances are having their own go. A small portion of the fediverse uses AI for content moderation. Depending on scale and available workforce, AI moderation is gaining momentum. It isn’t inherently bad if implemented justfully and if there are ways to oppose and discuss wrongful moderation with a real human.

Content moderation is increasingly being carried out using AI agents. This is also the case on Mastodon. AI-assisted suppression of posts on the timeline (or completely disabling the timeline), sending warning messages, or restricting or suspending accounts) can be seen as an algorithm designed to steer content toward a particular slant. AI-driven exclusion—ranging from the most “serious” content to things I simply don’t like or don’t fit my agenda—has become the norm.

I am ashamed of this Israel.
When, during our weekly prayers in the synagogue, we also pray for wisdom for Israel’s leaders, all I can think is: yes, wisdom. And a very long prison sentence.

P.S. Hertzberger wrote this in the NRC newspaper, and there are many, many Jewish people in the Netherlands who share her view on Israel.

All five fundamental nucleobases—adenine, guanine, cytosine, thymine, and uracil—have now been detected in the samples brought back to Earth by Japan’s Hayabusa2 mission in 2020. These are the chemical building blocks that together form DNA and RNA. According to the researchers, this shows that key ingredients for life are not unique to Earth.

The grave of the Fourth Musketeer, d'Artagnan, may have been found after centuries.
It could be a spectacular historical discovery: a skeleton has been discovered in a church in Maastricht, the Netherlands, that may belong to the famous French musketeer d'Artagnan. The whereabouts of his remains have been a mystery for centuries.

OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, is heading for a loss of 14 billion dollars this year. Its market share is plummeting, and CEO Sam Altman recently admitted that they have “screwed up” their product. All it takes now to accelerate that decline is ten seconds of your time:

It was probably this 8088 XT model, and as far as I know, they were not equipped with wireless or 3.5" floppy drives or an audio player (unless the piezo buzzer is considered as such).

Vibe coders? I call them juniors, regardless of age. The point is that managers often say, “Just check with AI, those bozos across the hall, the seniors, they'll fix whatever you've broken,” while they think that the seniors, who are already up to their elbows in shit dealing with annoying bugs and ridiculous customer requests — but hey, the boss's friend—have plenty of time to streamline a code snippet plucked from YouTube. And the team fuher and sc[r]um master just nod in agreement.

Another Trumpo cunt got blocked. I just took out noauthority.social. Exclude this sucker from federation.
As you can see, this is about actually knowing what is happening and at the same time not wanting to know what is happening. Saying that I claim that genocide is being committed against illegal immigrants is the tactic of a right-wing bully. Of course, I am also being insulted, another tactic of a Nazi. A pathetic case.
