There seems to be a surprising number of people still ignorant of the 1967 attack on #US navy ship the #USSLiberty by #Israel.

I just had a client contact me asking if I could urgently setup a promotional document they had designed using Ai. They also informed me they had no budget left so could I do it cheap.
They sent me a pdf of document plus link to html of Ai design they had created.
The pdf file had half the content missing and had changed all the formatting and fonts.
I explained that this was a mess and it was easier for me to recreate the entire document, I told them I would do it cheaply to help them out but said I hope they would stop using #Ai and supported designers who know what they’re doing.
Meanwhile this clueless and incompetent #NZPol government is expecting Ai to replace most of the #NZ civil service.

Do we know who is going to be responsible for writing the NZ citizenship test?
I believe it should be a non partisan group organised and agreed to by representatives of the original parties that agreed to the #Aotearoa #NewZealand founding document #TeTiritiOWaitangi and that would be the NZ Governor General who represents the #British Crown and a #Māori representative group made up of members from the #Waitangi Tribunal, Urban Māori Authority and Iwi Runanga (Tribal Councils).

Was chatting to one of the homeless guys I help out and often talk to when visiting the supermarket this afternoon.
I asked him if he was enrolled to vote and he told me he wasn't sure. I then asked if he had an address as you can't enrol to vote in NZ if you don't have an address, he said he had a mate who's address he uses when he needs to give an address.
I said brother you need to vote te Pāti Māori or Green if you want any chance of improving your lot, we need to change this govt. He told me Greens are the party he supports. I made him a promise I would get him some enrollment papers and help him get enrolled. He thanked me.
After making that promise I now figure I'm going to have to get myself a good supply of enrollment papers and start getting homeless folks enrolled as a service to the community.

I had the displeasure of listening to #RNZ this morning as I had to drive my wife to work in her car which was tuned to RNZ.
The misinformation and manufacturing of consent for the illegal US Israelis war against Iran was shocking.
I know RNZ has gone down hill but I found the blatant disregard of context quite disturbing, particularly considering this is our #NZPol funded national media.
The RNZ morning report announced that there were concerns about Iran threatening to bomb US universities in ME. I was waiting for RNZ to explain why Iran had made these threats but nothing.

Yes, in my childhood it was always traditional to make a pot of tea in an aptly named tea pot which was then poured into cups with or without milk.
Loose tea leaves were used in the teapot and tea would usually be poured through a tea strainer but not necessarily hence the history of reading the tea leaves that remain at the bottom of a cup once drunk.
The advent of tea bags destroyed a lot of tea traditions although loose tea and teapots are still used particularly by tea aficionados.
The best cup of tea I have ever enjoyed was in the Sri Lankan tea lands where the tea served was extremely fresh and served with fresh milk from cows that were farmed locally. Dairying was possible due to the high altitude of the tea lands providing a warm but not tropical year round temperature of approximately 25°C.

Yes, it appears to be something of a myth or perhaps advances in electric kettle design ie heating element has made this no longer relevant.
The cultural fact that tea is not consumed in US as it is in much of the world also plays a role in the absence of electric kettles in most US households.
I remember being in the US in the early 90s and noticing the lack of electric jugs everywhere I stayed and the difficulty of finding somewhere to buy a cuppa.
One cafe in downtown NYC did offer to make me a cup of tea when I enquired then after a long wait presented me with a tepid cup of weak milky tea complete with tea bag still in the mug which tasted like it was at least 10 years old.

It’s so wonderful to witness these creatures in real life.
When I was a teenager I was surfing with some friends way out the back at North Piha where these wonderfully large but gentle swells were rolling in. We heard sirens coming from the beach and then we saw them. About 3 or 4 orca swimming along only about 20-30 meters from where we sat on our boards.
The really memorable thing was just how calm we all were as we sat there in amazement watching these beautiful mammals swim by.

Of course our #NZPol coalition of fossil fuel dependents will try and make you believe that NZ’s biggest threat is our largest trading partner and world leader in renewable energy technology and development. The reality most of us can see is NZ’s biggest threat is the the war mongering oil merchants holding the world to ransom as a result of their pedo president being held hostage by the Agent #Epstein files.
Obviously NZ’s transformation to energy independence and clean generation will take time to happen so is not an immediate solution to the current pickle the pedo president has unleashed on the world so providing free public transport is something we can do immediately and then making investment into further electrification of our PT and vehicles a priority.
I know, like myself, you’re a Green supporter so not telling you anything you don’t already know but it’s amazing to see how this latest global fiasco as a result of USA’s dumbest war to date, and they’ve started plenty of dumb and illegal wars, has forced Europe, Asia and the global south to recognise the insecurity of relying on fossil fuels as a primary energy source.
Firstly I hope the world hasn’t been destroyed by nuclear war before 7 Nov 2026 and secondly the NZ Greens take this crisis as an opportunity to capitalise on NZers desperate need for energy security and independence. If NZ can be convinced to vote enough Green MPs into government NZ will have the chance to make the ideal a reality. Step 1 instead of investing the current govt’s proposed $12B in to US weapons of war instead invest that money into domestic renewable generation and see an immediate transformation of energy efficiency.

I loved David Lange and had the pleasure of spending time working with him on a post office video not long after he became PM, unfortunately David was unable to prevent the neoliberal sabotage of Rogernomics which ended socialism in this country and has left a huge stain on Lange’s legacy.
In contrast Savage will always hold the mantle as the Prime Minister who introduced socialism to NZ and created the egalitarian socialist country that I still fondly remember from my childhood.

Thanks, it was funny I made this just as we went into lockdown and haven’t watched it since. I remembered it yesterday when arrest JK posted that the traffic light system for Covid was 3 phases. I remembered this video so looked it up and sure enough this wonderful speech was made by Jacinda as we were moving through phase 3 into phase 4 lockdown.
It is quite emotional listening to her again and the dedication, commitment and reassurance she brought to the nation. So sadly missing with this coalition of crooks.

I have strong links with the old Labour Party too, in fact Phil Goff once told me Labour needed more people like me and that I should run for Labour. I laughed and said the last thing the Labour Party needed was me as a candidate.
The reality is old Labour no longer exists, it has never really recovered from the neoliberal hit job by finance minister and Act founder Roger Douglas, the way I see it for you as a Labour loyalist is, under MMP, you’re not abandoning Labour by party voting Greens particularly if like me you live in an electorate with a strong Labour candidate and can vote ❤️ & 💚 you are actually helping Labour become truer to its origins.
Not sure if Phil Goff would agree but then again that’s why I would have been more trouble for Labour than he would have anticipated. 😉

I filled my car up at the beginning of the week and have used it very sparingly, only when essential ie kids.
I passed the same gas station again yesterday after visiting the supermarket and the already overpriced petrol I had purchased 4 days ago had increased by about 45 cents per litre. I think this is one of the main contributors to many people now stockpiling fuel.

As much as I believe Chippy is not the ideal candidate I also believe he is a far better option than the status quo. I fear targeting Chippy as the problem will not help change the government.
As once a long time Labour supporter and now Green voter for the last 3 elections I instead focus on encouraging anyone unhappy with Chippy or the neoliberal influences within the Labour Party to party vote Green.
Sending a strong message to Labour and growing the Greens presence in parliament, hopefully government is the only way of achieving a more positive outcome for Aotearoa NZ.

This song features the address #JacindaArdern made to the country to bring the country together and reassure us our #NZPol government cared.

She was such a wonderful PM, love her or hate her no one could question her integrity and dedication to the role as leader of NZ.

One potential positive for NZers is should the cost of exporting much of our food become too prohibitively expensive and the fact that NZ allegedly produces enough food to feed 40 million people will mean a lot less shortages domestically and a reduction of cost due to supply and demand… 🤔
….that being said I am really scraping the barrel to try and find any possible positives.

I don't think this govt has thought about anything other than how they can make themselves look good despite their clueless or non existent plans.
I do some work for a relatively large NZ horticultural company who export a lot of product mainly to Australia and Asia either by sea or air for very some perishable items.
I asked a contact I know there if this gas shortage was going to be a disaster for them. He told me it was now costing them a huge amount for logistics but added that they are lucky that they're nearing the end of the season.

You don’t have to be very smart to know this war and the oil sanctions imposed on US, Israel and all its allies is not going to end anytime soon.
What I don’t understand is just how low IQ our coalition of clowns can be not to understand this.
I hear they got excited about discovering there’s allegedly an additional 5 days of petrol on the water supposedly heading our way that had not been accounted for.

Look, we’re laser focused on finding ways to improve our polling err economy.
Most people who come up to me tell me they like the way we’re not making rash decisions like spraying everyone with cash bazookas.
People tell me they can’t believe the way Labour wasted so much money on unnecessary health and economic subsidies during Covid.

The reality is the Strait of Hormuz won’t be open until US and Israel accept Iran’s demands. If you’re as clued up as I am you’ll know US and Israel will never agree to Iran’s demands.
But there’s another way NZ and other countries can access oil, fertiliser and any other commodity that needs to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
To save me writing this again I suggest you read my reckon here. The big clue is #NZPol abandoning the petrodollar.

Not really, Iran is currently selling and granting safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz to ships carrying oil that’s been cleared with the Iranian government and has been paid for using the Chinese yuan and not destined to countries allied or complicit with Israel and US war crimes.
Iran and Russia are already controlling the global oil trade, the longer this illegal war continues the fewer countries willing to sacrifice their people and economies to protect the Epstein Empire.
Of course current international trade protocols will need to be changed to adapt to a sustainable multipolar system of commerce will take time but work on this has been developed for well over a decade by the BRICS member countries which now represent approximately 50% of the world’s population and about 70% of its critical resources.

Here’s hoping both National and Labour put up strong candidates for the Epsom electorate this election.
No doubt the underperforming National Mp Paul Goldsmith will again be running in the seat he’s never managed to win.
