Noticed a display bug in Amethyst, boosted notes won't show a custom "like" in the main feed. The biggest thing that's holding back Nostr clients from being "sticky" and becoming more habbit forming is: stale data. Seeing posts I've already seen makes the client apps feel stale. If the content slot machine isn't paying out often enough, eyeballs go to other casinos. For better or worse.
But definitely don't do that horrible thing where a feed will spontaneous refresh and make you lose your place, and frustrate you cuz you're unable to find the post you were on the middle of reading. That's worse.

Why is this a terrible idea?
Sign a message like "BIP300: NAY" from a Bitcoin address with X amount of BTC. Then generate a brand new Nostr npub to broadcast that message to Nostr. A bot scans relays and aggregates all the notes related to a given topic to gauge sentiment based on the size of UTXO for each message.
Signers can avoid doxing their stack by using a brand new single use Nostr key not tied to their personal account. The network of users can get a sense of economic nodes preferences on matters.
Biggest flaw is that it probably captures a very very small subset of hodlers. But aren't those also the most active node runners anyway?
Over time, would signing multiple messages on multiple issues from same UTXO put your keys at risk?

Downloaded and installed apk.
It's asking for nsec.
I have a private key & public key & npub. App wouldn't accept any of them so I'm now trying to figure out my nsec...
Tried to install local version of nostrtool.com to covert to nsec and failed to get it to run.
Tried to install @npub1mxr…0htc key-convertr tool and wasn't able to run the executable.
Looking forward to when it's easier. 😀

There is a HUGE delay (Pixel 6pro) tapping any of the buttons in the bottom row. So much so that it seems entirely broken, until suddenly all of the taps register all at once. and chaos ensues on screen. App is basically unusable for me. I tried. Will try again next update.

#[0] #[1] I noticed on badges.page that you can be signed in from a previous session (Alby auth'd), and return for a subsequent visit and still be signed in to the website, but clicking to "Accept Badge" does nothing at all if you haven't re-activated Alby for that new session.
Probably an edge case for the paranoid that don't let extensions run 24-7. ;) Maybe some sort of click-handler that checks if extension is active?

The current hypothesis (afaik) is of you multiple clients, Client A may try to push an update that corrupts an update from Client B and then both are fubar'd.
Easiest way I found to sort of restore is with Iris.to. Go to one of your main/favorite people to follow, view their follow list, and click follow-all. Not perfect, but gets you part of the way.

This is just phase 1: experimenting
Phase future will allow us to cryptographically sign-off on other users work. Think web-of-trust.
I can sign a badge for my babysitter verifying that they are legit. Other parents in my own web of trust can see that on her profile, and use that info in their decision to hire her.
An employer can sign-off that you know how to write python code because they paid you to do so. Other employers can see that certificate/badge from a reputable signing identity.
Complete an education course? Your grade is a badge.
And you can choose to reveal badges at your discretion to whomever you want.
