I do write from WordPress, you do engage from SocialHome, I do use BSDs, and you do use Gentoo. we are outliers, in almost every thing we do.
However, the majority of people on Mastodon, are the people using a typical mastodon instance, hosted by a friend or a community, and they are always miserable.

Mastodon makes me sad, most people here are miserable. Twitter/X makes me angry, which makes sense because their algorithm, but I am very disappointed that with no algorithm I am sad.
Sad that most people here are miserable and in a bubble.

Every time I go to a hacker’s forum (the orange site, Lobsters, etc) and read comments, I keep thinking to myself:
You fucking pieces of shit. 99% of you has done only the top 1% of programming languages, you’ve never seen any crap other than Node/JS, Go, Python, and now Rust.
And you want me to take your opinion seriously? You’ve never done functional programming, you still think Pascal is different because it uses BEGIN instead of {, and basically, you just copy other’s opinion.

I’ve been told so. Most of my American friends also comment about how old my devices are (iPhone XS, Nokia N900, iPods). I guess small and old is not common in the US. Everything has to be new and big.

agreed, but they are documented to some degree.
For example, couple of weeks ago I was doing macOS development on the road. then I realized that I've been coding for 3 hours without inet.
Meanwhile most Linux distros don't come with `man(1)` anymore :/

Back in the day I got into a directory, ran `make` and I had the software that I needed.
These days I have to look into some Dockerfile, understand which CI is being used, that that weird YAML file is, how the software is compiled, which libraries/dependencies I need, so I can finally install that software.
And people keep telling me that we're in the golden age of software.
