@nprofile…8jts ah, treesitter. I never gave it a shot. Maybe I should try them too. is ts-nix mode better than nix-mode?
regarding nix-mode, it mostly works but I found it to be a bit too lacking on its own. A little more than just syntax highlighting would make the experience smoother. I also checked the repo and it hasn't been maintained for a really long time..
also I completely forgot about the existence of lsp-nix powered by nil/nixd language server. :blobcatdead:
i'm gonna try this route first and see where it goes

@nprofile…6pa3 I've only used it for a couple of months, but so far, I've found that the editor is more responsive than VSCode in general.
The plugin ecosystem is much smaller than VSCode, but there's definitely room for improvement, and I suppose it'll take time for it to grow.
The editor also supports real-time text editing collaboration out of the box, if that's your thing. Sadly, the chat system was removed last year. See https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/37789. We may or may not see it again for a while. :blobcat3c:
If you're familiar with VSCode, then you'll feel at home, as the UI and workflows resemble it a lot.
I have to admit that I did struggle using the editor due to random (minor) bugs and breakages in the beginning. The shipped Emacs keymap that I use is still quite broken (in particular, copying and pasting), for example.
Overall, I think it's a good editor, but it still needs more polishing around the edges. :blobfoxfloofcute:
