Ja, das Hotel hat es natürlich aus Kostengründen getan. Nett als Umweltschutz verpackt. "Aus Umweltschutzgründen verzichten wir auf eine tägliche Zimmerreiningung bei ihrem 3 tägigen Aufenthalt. Sollten sie doch eine wünschen, melden sie sich einfach an der Rezeption"

TIL: systemd-run --on-calendar your-comand
Quasi das equivalent zu "at". Nur das ein temporärer timer und service eingerichtet wird. Der dann auch per `systemctl list-timers` aufgelistet wird.

die ganze Automotive Bubble kommt halt aus einer Welt in der das nicht möglich war. Jahrzehnte gab es keine Prozesse Steuergeräte im Feld zu updaten. Da musste man dann das Steuergerät physisch austauschen. Daher haben sie sich in Tests und Zertifizierungsschlachten ewig an der Qualität geschraubt. Das war teuer, aber sobald es einmal "fertig" war, hat es keine Folgekosten mehr erzeugt.

I played Eve Online. The amount of time single people spend there to do heists for virtual assets is mind boggling. This could be a group, but also a very dedicated single person on their way to get rich. I think they didn't planed this exact plot two years ago, but secured their maintainer ship of a core part of the infrastructure, with low churn but high installation base.
