Oh, no. How are Lucy and Ethel? And, how are the birds you were documenting and their babies?
Usually by now there would be a lot of cicadas in my area, screeching for love. In recent weeks, it was warm to hot (cicadas started), then hard, drenching rains (cicadas that were out, were gone).
There are some cicadas about, but not many. If the cicada population doesn't quickly rebound it's going to cascade through to everything that depends on the yearly cicada bonanza for food. I've already noticed fewer cicada hawk wasps, and the ones I've seen did not have successful hunts.

Cat TV is popping this morning. Lots of birds, grasshoppers, and some cicadas for the clowder to watch.

I had a doctor appointment this morning. Just a general checkup. It confirmed my suspicion. I am still alive. Not to brag, but I excel at shuffling slowly around while groaning. But, while there is some crossover in skill sets, it turns out I'm not an apparition. 👍🏾

I like it. I'm not sure how wide that river is, but I think it looks like you are at a very great distance from the shoreline. So far away that what I'm guessing to be street lights look like small ground lights in a garden.

My cat kept climbing on top of this cabinet, knocking things out of his way. I kept shooing him down from the top of this cabinet, and fussing about having to pick up the things he kept knocking down.
He and I have reached a compromise.
He climbs on top of the cabinet, knocking things out of his way. And, I pick up the things he knocked down.

Good morning, all.
The rest of Monday night weather was relatively quiet. Daily thunderstorms, possibly severe, are forecast for the next week.
So, if I disappear from Mastodon over the next week or so, don't worry. It'll be weather related, and I'll be fine.
If you don't see me chatting about DSC s5e10 on Thursday, it'll be weather related, and I'll be pissed at the delay in being able to watch and chat about DSC. And, I'll be fine.

The hail stopped, thank goodness. Something about nature pelting one with chunks of ice is just disturbing.
The house shaking thunder is becoming a weekly event. Often enough that the cats stop freaking out when it happens, and instead give me accusatory looks like the noise and rumbling is my fault.

Within a half an hour: 94F (34.4C), humid, and sunny. Minutes later, high clouds, raining, house shaking thunder, and 93F (33.8C). Minutes later, 90F (32.2C), raining, hail up to .5" (12 mm) diameter. Minutes later 80F (26.6C) with a light rain. Hold up, the house shaking thunder is back and the rain is steady.
Monday is going to Monday.
