@nprofile…44dh This is an idea I've been fighting with putting succinctly (and failing) for about a year now that relates to how our societies perception that scientific endeavours are the only worthwhile endeavours for human progress, and my concern is that we are willfully ignoring and entire possibility space because it's not profitable, or just really hard to explain.
It's the idea that using a cause and effect solution, or an if/then solution to a problem that has the benefit of human creativity (and thus has endless possibilities) is always going to result in either a large number of bandaid fixes as we discover them, or severely limiting the possibility space to something more controllable and in doing so making the tool less useful. But because most programmers or engineers have never expanded beyond STEM subjects, have never studied philosophy, or art, sociology they're missing entire fields of background knowledge which may be helpful or even groundbreaking. This may already be a solved problem in another field. Maybe there is a technique for helping at risk youth that can be adapted to perfectly solve LLM prompt injection. But we'll never know it because all these dudes study is science and when all you have is a hammer, then everything looks like a nail.

@nprofile…x2kl @nprofile…p7lw I can confirm that the workbook does work but getting some actionable data out of it is pretty awful. External Tenants are only shown by their Entra TenantID, not onmicrosoft.com name or UPN. I've only been poking at this for a couple of mins but if you can look at inbound activity and maybe get the tenant name that way.
Either way, if you're an org that has more than a couple known cross-tenant connections, you're going to want to set aside a bit of time for this.

@nprofile…36ma I've been guilty of doing this exact thing before and I assure you it is not for trying to sound smart (although that is often how it comes across). It is from not knowing the expertise level in the room so trying to make a complex idea as simple as possible, and failing.
The problem I've always had is that I'll go "ok so I have to explain how a firewall works in simple terms. Easy. Although, in order to explain that I should first explain what a packet is. But to explain that I should explain for a frame traverses a wire, but to explain what a frame is I should first explain the OSI model..." and so on until I'm giving a math lesson on how binary works.
It is the curse of people who are both very passionate about their subject and want everyone else to be excited about it as well.

The other half of that conversation in this case was managing politics and getting buy-in. From the stories I've heard, the org was extremely risk-averse where any amount of perceived negative impact would prevent a project from going forward.

@nprofile…d2rl You don't even need to start with the specialized legacy skills imo, if you start with normal sysadmin skills and understand Active Directory, networking basics, etc then you will learn how to maintain those legacy systems in the right environments.
Specialized legacy skills are important, but they shouldn't be your entire portfolio. The people who are good at this job are the ones who are a little bit of a jack of all trades. This is the thing I feel schools and universities fail on. They make you a master of one subject, or one technology but they fail to realize that all of these systems are interconnected. You need to know a little bit about everything to keep it running smoothly.

It's entirely run by the community, members of the community donate any food or money they can afford, the kitchen itself is entirely volunteer-run (for members of the religion it's considered "seva" or selfless service) and everyone eats together without discrimination.
Some temples emphasize the equality among all by making everyone sit on the floor while they eat.
But don't expect any Sikh temple to have any external food programs because they have langar. External community outreach programs are mostly focused around other things like education, child care, sports programs etc.

All Sikh temples have a langar (translation: community kitchen) which serves meals to anyone who comes to their door regardless of religion, or ethnicity.

@nprofile…5k2y Depending on the manufacturer you could probably go as new as mid-2010's. The mid level German Luxury sedans for example have been fairly slow to bring in "phone home" tech in their more basic trims.
I would also be curious to know how difficult it would be to find and remove the SIM card from some of the newer cars and what functionality do you lose once you do so.

@nprofile…d2rl This is going to sound self-defeating, and like I'm trying to throw up obstacles for myself but I assure you that is not my intention.
I am in this industry through sheer dumb luck. My knowledge is a mile wide but an inch deep in every direction. If you want to know the firing order of a small block Chevy, or about Bartolomé de las Casas and his efforts to stop slavery in Cuba, or about very company specific infosec issues and proposed solutions to them. Then I'm you're guy.
None of that is in-depth enough or can be generalized enough to be put into a whitepaper without having glaring omissions or just being outright incorrect. I've never even been in a cybersecurity tabletop, let alone run one.
This is one of those moments where because you already have the knowledge and experience, this task is very easy (if a bit arduous). But for an outsider looking in, it seems impossible. I envy every other person here who has built a vault of closely-related knowledge over a lifetime, but that has never been me.

Just because you've done it before isn't necessarily a bad thing. I used to love ska as a kid. @npub1nyq…vvvs As I understand it (and I could very much be wrong) Task Scheduler Creds are stored in the Credentials Manager which is a component of LSA. However credentials manager itself does use DPAPI.
However, if you have NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM privileges then you have access to way more than just secluded tasks such as; passwords for any IIS application pools, passwords for the computer's AD DS account, as well as any services that are configured on that machine.
