Just now in QP, something I've never seen: the Liberals gave up one of their QP slots to ask a question to GPC MP Elizabeth May. And PM Carney -- who normally only answers questions from leaders of recognized party leaders -- answered May. It was a Q&A about commitment to climate action and reconciliation. Significance? My gut says: May is voting for #bdgt45

The BQ, in the 3rd quarter of 2025, had just 956 donors who gave an average of $108.29 to the party. The CPC had 53,725 donors in the quarter giving an average of $78.80. The Liberals easily had the most donors — 77,064 — but they gave on average just $38.39. The NDP’s 30,677 donors gave an average of $28.64.

As leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, Pierre Poilievre has now had three members of his caucus quit on him. Alain Rayes quit to sit as an Independent and on the day Rayes quite Poilievre would not take questions — until I interrupted a “statement” he was giving and did not relent until he agreed to take questions about Rayes leaving. (In hindsight; probably a dumb way to do that). But now … Chris d’Entremont just quit on Poilievre to join the LIberals on Wednesday and Poilievre took no questions; and tonight Matt Jeneroux quit Parliament and, once again, Poilievre took no questions from reporters. #cdnpoli

Alex Tabarrok on H1-B visa: Overall, getting (approximately) one extra high-skilled worker causes a 23% increase in the probability of a successful IPO within five years (a 1.5 percentage point increase in the baseline probability of 6.6%). "rich guys" = the boomers/homeowners who overwhelmingly voted LIberal. For many of them, their major asset is their home. No way they want home values to drop. Th CPC / Poilievre, by contrast, attracts huge support from non-homeowners/non-Boomers who want prices to drop.
