JULIAN ASSANGE FILES CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST NOBEL FOUNDATION OVER “INSTRUMENT OF WAR” PEACE PRIZE
WikiLeaks Founder Alleges 2025 Award to María Corina Machado Constitutes Misappropriation, Facilitation of War Crimes Under Swedish Law, Seeks Freeze of 11 million SEK ($1.18 million USD) of Pending Transfers to Machado
STOCKHOLM — 11:00am CET December 17, 2025
Julian Assange today filed a criminal complaint in Sweden accusing 30 individuals associated with the Nobel Foundation, including its leadership, of committing serious suspected crimes, including the crime of gross misappropriation of funds, facilitation of war crimes and crimes against humanity, and the financing of the crime of aggression.
The complaint shows that Alfred Nobel's 1895 will explicitly mandates that the peace prize go to the individual who during the proceeding year “conferred the greatest benefit to humankind” by doing “the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.”
Assange argues that “The political decision of the Norwegian selection committee does not suspend the fiduciary duty of Swedish funds administrators”. “Any disbursement contradicting this mandate constitutes misappropriation from the endowment”.
The complaint, submitted simultaneously to the Swedish Economic Crime Authority (Ekobrottsmyndigheten) and the Swedish War Crimes Unit (Krigsbrottsenheten), states that the suspects, including Nobel Foundation Chair Astrid Söderbergh Widding and Executive Director Hanna Stjärne, converted “an instrument of peace into an instrument of war,” through suspected “serious criminality” including:
1) Breach of trust, gross misappropriation and conspiracy in relation to the pending 11 million SEK ($1.18 million) disbursement of the Peace prize monies to Maria Corina Machado, whose prior and ongoing actions categorically exclude her from the criteria set out in Alfred Nobel's will;
2) Facilitation of war crimes, including the crime of aggression and crimes against humanity, breaching Sweden's obligations under Article 25(3)(c) of the Rome Statute, because the accused are aware of Machado's incitement and endorsement of the U.S. commission of international crimes, and knew or ought to have known that the disbursement of Nobel monies would contribute to extrajudicial killings of civilians and shipwrecked survivors at sea and are in breach of their obligation to cease disbursements.
Assange notes that the members of the Nobel Foundation have previously exercised their supervisory authority over the prizes and their disbursements by withholding Literature Prize disbursements in 2018. “Failure to intervene here, despite U.S. war crimes off the Venezuelan coast and Machado’s key role in furthering aggression” incurs criminal liability.
“Alfred Nobel's endowment for peace cannot be spent on the promotion of war,” Assange states. The accused have concrete legal obligations because they are tasked with “ensuring the fulfillment of the intended purpose of Alfred Nobel’s will, that is, to end wars and war crimes, and not to enable them.”
MACHADO'S INCITEMENT OF THE LARGEST U.S. MILITARY BUILDUP SINCE THE IRAQ WAR MAKE HER CATEGORICALLY INELIGIBLE
The complaint notes how the Nobel announcement and ceremony have occurred in what military analysts describe as “the largest U.S. military deployment in the Caribbean since the Cuban Missile Crisis”—now exceeding 15,000 personnel, including the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford. The escalation continues as President Trump announced on December 10, two days after the Nobel ceremony, that U.S. strikes would be “starting by land.” The Venezuela strategy is part of what Trump’s Secretary for War, Peter Hegseth, calls a shift toward “maximum lethality, not tepid legality” and “going on the offence”.
Against this backdrop, Assange states that “Machado has continued to incite the Trump Administration to pursue its escalatory path”, including by entering into a conspiracy to give the U.S. administration access to $1.7 trillion in oil reserves and other natural resources through privatization once Maduro is ousted.
“Using her elevated position as the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, Machado may well have tipped the balance in favour of war, facilitated by the named suspects.” Assange states in the criminal complaint.
The complaint lists evidence of this incitement of U.S. military intervention, as well as praising Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's conduct in Gaza. Her statements include:
- “Military escalation may be the only way... the United States may need to intervene directly” (30 October 2025)
- Machado called U.S. military strikes on civilian vessels, which have killed at least 95 people to date, “justified” and “visionary”.
- Machado dedicated the prize to U.S. President Trump, because he “finally has put Venezuela... in terms of a priority for the United States national security”
- Historical statements including 2014 testimony before U.S. Congress where she said: “The only path left is the use of force”
The filing cites extensive third-party expert and institutional opposition to Machado receiving the award:
- 21 Norwegian peace organizations declared: “Machado is the opposite of a peace laureate.”
- Nobel Peace Prize laureate Adolfo Pérez Esquivel stated: “Giving the prize to someone who calls for foreign invasion is a mockery of Alfred Nobel's will.”
- The Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) confirmed Machado “has called for military intervention in Venezuela.”
REQUESTED ACTION
The complaint notes that “There is a real risk that the funds derived from Nobel’s endowment have been or will be intentionally or negligently diverted from their charitable purpose to facilitate aggression, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.”
Assange requests that Swedish authorities:
1. Immediately freeze of the pending SEK 11,000,000 monetary prize transfer and any remaining related budget and secure return of the medal.
2. Investigate the named persons and Foundation officers and associated entities for breach of trust, facilitation of war crimes and crimes against humanity, and conspiracy.
3. Seize of board minutes, emails, group chats, financial records.
4. Interrogate Widding, Stjärne and other suspects.
5. Fully investigate domestically or refer the matter to the ICC (Rome Statute Art. 25(3)(c)).
“This complaint seeks the immediate freezing of all remaining funds and a full criminal investigation lest the Nobel Peace Prize be permanently converted from an instrument of peace into an instrument of war,” Assange concludes.

Larry Ellison uses the Tony Blair Institute to control the NHS and Britain’s most sensitive health data.
“When it comes to tech policy, TBI’s role is to go to developing economies and sell them Larry Ellison’s gear. Oracle and TBI are inseparable.”
Since 2021, Ellison’s foundation has donated & pledged £257m to the Tony Blair Institute (TBI).
Ellison, described by Trump as the “CEO of everything”, is now shaping NHS reform through Blair’s institute. TBI is pushing a single national data library and a new “front door” to patient records, embedding Britain’s health system within Oracle’s infrastructure.
The cash has turned TBI into what insiders call a “tech sales & lobbying operation for Oracle.” Its agenda mirrors Ellison’s global push to unify national data sets. He has been explicit about what matters most:
“The NHS in the UK has an incredible amount of population data,” he said, though it was too “fragmented” at present.
Two weeks later, TBI published “Governing in the Age of AI: Building Britain’s National Data Library”, echoing Ellison and describing the NHS as “fragmented and unfit for purpose.”
The NHS dataset is uniquely valuable. Unlike anything in the US or Europe, it contains comprehensive health records dating back to 1948. Its potential commercial value from drug development to genome sequencing is estimated at £10bn a year.

Double-Tap Israeli Airstrike on Gaza Hospital Kills Five Journalists and rescue workers on live TV. Netanyahu Calls It a ‘Mishap.’
Israeli airstrikes hit Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza twice, killing 20 people, including five journalists from Reuters, AP, Al Jazeera, Middle East Eye and NBC. Hussam al-Masri died in the initial strike; Mohammed Salama, Mariam Abu Dagga, Ahmed Abu Aziz, and Moaz Abu Taha were killed when the hospital was hit again in a “double-tap” attack as rescuers gathered to evacuate the wounded. Reuters photographer Hatem Khaled was injured in the second strike.
The “double-tap” strike technique is widely regarded as a war crime because it targets first responders, journalists, medics, and rescue workers who are protected under the Geneva Conventions. The attacks aim to deter rescue efforts and inflict further civilian harm. The International Criminal Court considers deliberate strikes on medical or rescue personnel prosecutable war crimes.
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) now reports at least 196 journalists killed since the war began.

Leaked Palestine Action report shatters case for terror listing.
The leaking of the key JTAC (Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre) assessment of Palestine Action by journalist Craig Murray confirms suspicions that the Government was advised that the group focused its actions on protest and property damage, falling well short of accepted international definitions of terrorism.
According to Murray: “The JTAC report makes absolutely clear that its assessment of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation is based only on the definition in the Terrorism Act, of a group that commits serious damage to property in order to influence government policy. I pause here to note that the United Nations has intervened in the case to state that this does not meet international standards for defining terrorism. Damage to property should only be terrorism when the intent is to endanger life, such as damaging an air traffic control centre. The JTAC report in fact notes that Palestine Action stresses its philosophy of non-violent action against people.”
The Starmer Government relied on this previously unreleased assessment as justification for listing Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation. JTAC is hosted within MI5, and has representation from a dozen government departments and national security and surveillance agencies, including MI6, GCHQ, counter-terrorism police and the Home Office.

US Green Beret saw IDF war crimes at aid delivery sites in Gaza.
“In my entire career I have never witnessed the level of brutality and use of indiscriminate and unnecessary force against a civilian population, an unarmed starving population,” according to US Green Beret Anthony Aguilar, who deployed to Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid distribution sites in the Gaza strip. “Using artillery rounds, mortar rounds, tank rounds into unarmed civilians is a war crime.”
“The American people need to know what the United States is involved in in Gaza. We’re not bystanders. We are a part of it. U.S. tax dollars are going towards this effort. Americans are on the ground, armed, in Gaza, engaging with Palestinians and involved in things that America needs to know about.”
Aguilar has provided direct testimony of his experience working for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which manages US- and Israeli-backed 'aid delivery' in Gaza.
“Dystopian to the tenth degree. It’s horrible. There was no box for this young man. So he picked up some things that he found on the ground, and he was so thankful for even that. And he walked up to me and he extended his hand, and I beckoned for him to come forward, and he grabbed my hand, and he kissed my hand and he said, “Shukran, shukran,” and he was sincere.
“Then he held my hand and he kissed it, and I knelt down to look at him in the face so I can let him know that, you know, people care. You’re not alone. People care. And he set down his bags and he put his hands on my face and he kissed me.
“And he says, “Thank you.” And he picked up his bags and he went back to join this group. This was the last remaining group of people on the site that were picking up remnants of aid.
“The IDF [Israeli military] opened up with machine gun fire into the crowd to get them to leave faster, to get them to hurry. Shooting at their feet, shooting over their head, shooting into the berm. There’s video of this. It’s been verified. That’s the first time I had experienced such use of force against… So I didn’t know what was going on because he had walked through the berm, and I heard the shooting. So I ran up to the berm to look, and there were dead Palestinians. He was one of them.”

Palantir is engaged in a major expansion of the American surveillance state
Spyware company Palantir is engaged in large-scale data collection on American citizens, having taken on multiple contracts across Federal Government agencies with large holdings of private information.
A March 2025 Executive Order signed by Trump mandated all Federal Agencies to remove all barriers to intra- and inter-agency sharing of unclassified records. At the same time, the Administration is committing hundreds of millions of dollars to Palantir, a major intelligence contractor whose CEO Alex Karp told an investor call in February 2025: “Palantir is here to disrupt... and, when it’s necessary, to scare our enemies and, on occasion, kill them.”
Palantir's data analytics product 'Foundry' is already installed within four Federal agencies including the Health and Human Services Department and the Department of Homeland Security, with talks under way with other agencies including the IRS. Widespread deployment would give the Administration unprecedented warrantless access to the private records of everyone in the United States, whether they are suspects in a criminal investigation or not.

A Jewish Australian Army officer has been stripped of his Top Secret security clearance by a review tribunal which found he had “divided loyalties” between Australia and Israel and posed an “unacceptable and avoidable risk to security” due to the threat of recruitment by "Mossad".
In his defence, the officer told the tribunal that “Zionism is an essential theme within Judaism. Judaism mandates the loyalty of a Jew to his people and to the Land of Israel. The Australian government is aware that every Jew harbours a varying degree of loyalty to Israel. Some have a higher and more overt levels of loyalty than others. This is the latent risk that the Australian government must naturally accept when employing Jews.”

US embassy boasts (Oct, 2024) about using USAID to change 30 of Uzbekistan's laws (and 50 of its University courses) to have the country adopt DC cultural views on gender. A quest for universal human rights, an attempt to coopt minorities, or "woke" imperialism?
Regardless of the merits of these actions, consider the effect of Saudi Arabia's embassy in DC publicly boasting about changing 30 US laws and 50 US university courses to install its cultural values on sex and gender.

The ultimate USAID couple?
Internews head Jeanne Bourgault is secretly married to Ray S. Jennings, a high profile regime change specialist for USAID. Despite paying herself $451k, Bourgault told her alma mater that she goes to the office "once or twice a month". Jennings has authored numerous papers recommending funding for his wife's methods. The relationship between Bourgault and Jennings appears to have only one obscure reference on the entire Internet. It has not been disclosed by USAID, Internews or the 4,291 media outlets connected to it.

Assange on USAID: ‘The received wisdom in advanced capitalist societies is that there still exists an organic “civil society sector” in which institutions form autonomously and come together to manifest the interests and will of citizens. The fable has it that the boundaries of this sector are respected by actors from government and the “private sector,” leaving a safe space for NGOs and nonprofits to advocate for things like human rights, free speech, and accountable government.
This sounds like a great idea. But if it was ever true, it has not been for decades.
Since at least the 1970s, authentic actors like unions and churches have folded under a sustained assault by free-market statism, transforming "civil society" into a buyer's market for political factions and corporate interests looking to exert influence at arm's length. The last forty years have seen a huge proliferation of think tanks and political NGOs whose purpose, beneath all the verbiage, is to execute political agendas by proxy.
It is not just obvious neocon front groups like Foreign Policy Initiative. It also includes fatuous Western NGOs like Freedom House, where naïve but well-meaning career nonprofit workers are twisted in knots by political funding streams, denouncing non-Western human rights violations while keeping local abuses firmly in their blind spots.
The civil society conference circuit—which flies developing-world activists across the globe hundreds of times a year to bless the unholy union between "government and private stakeholders" at geopoliticized events like the "Stockholm Internet Forum"—simply could not exist if it were not blasted with millions of dollars in political funding annually…’

USAID has pushed nearly half a billion dollars ($472.6m) through a secretive US government financed NGO, "Internews Network" (IN), which has “worked with” 4,291 media outlets, producing in one year 4,799 hours of broadcasts reaching up to 778 million people and "training” over 9000 journalists (2023 figures). IN has also supported social media censorship initiatives.
The operation claims “offices” in over 30 countries, including main offices in US, London, Paris and regional HQs in Kiev, Bangkok and Nairobi. It is headed up by Jeanne Bourgault, who pays herself $451k a year. Bourgault worked out of the US embassy in Moscow during the early 1990s, where she was in charge of a $250m budget, and in other revolts or conflicts at critical times, before formally rotating out of six years at USAID to IN.
Bourgault’s IN bio and those of its other key people and board members have been recently scrubbed from its website but remain accessible at https://t.co/Zp7SvobICU. Records show the board being co-chaired by Democrat securocrat Richard J. Kessler and Simone Otus Coxe, wife of NVIDIA billionaire Trench Coxe, both major Democratic donors. In 2023, supported by Hillary Clinton, Bourgault launched a $10m IN fund at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI). The IN page showing a picture of Bourgault at the CGI has also been deleted.
IN has at least six captive subsidiaries under unrelated names including one based out of the Cayman Islands. Since 2008, when electronic records begin, more than 95% of IN's budget has been supplied by the US government (thread follows)
