This #FreeCADFriday, I am using @nprofile…nj7h to design a 3d-printable laser optic mount system for interferometry experiments!
The main element are the kinematic mounts for precisely aligning all the optics. I have opted to use a flexure based design which required a lot of prototyping to get right (and there is still a lot of room for improvement...).

Finally had the time to take some of the topics from my blog post about design for #3Dprinting and make them into a proper #FreeCAD addon!
You can download "FusedFilamentDesign" from the FreeCAD addon manager.
Also check it out here: https://github.com/rahix/FusedFilamentDesign
(This addon also integrates the macros I mentioned here a few weeks ago)

I have written down all that I know about designing functional mechanical parts for 3d-printing. Took two years, but I finally managed to finish it... Please let me know what you think!

@nprofile…nj7h This #FreeCADFriday I am working on a much improved version of my 3d-printable DIN rail cable comb for wire management.
The model is very parametric so it is easy to generate different variants of the model.
I am very glad about the new function for suppressing PartDesign features - otherwise working on this would be unbearable!
