I am not an archaelogist, but what you said resonated.
In "Zone of Interest", there is a moment in which some of the Nazis in charge of Auschwitz construction are going over plans. Measurements, capacities, etc.
They do it with such a matter-of-fact tone it is quite unsettling (the point of the film, I suppose).

I see. So, I think this is where things get messy. Particularly because being Jewish is not just a religion, but more of an ethnoreligion. And it is impossible to separate Israel from Jewish identity (both socially and culturally, happy to elaborate if desired).
With the historical tropes of Jewish government control, it's slippery when only AIPAC is called out (esp. with "dictate American policy").
FYI I think money should be out of politics as much as anyone (Citizens U, etc.).

At Harvard, signs supporting Hamas' October 7 assasult.
At UCLA, a rabbi was harassed as a "pedophile rabbi".
At Columbia, Jewish students were blocked from campus buildings.
At DePaul, chants included "let's go Hamas".
At NYU, chants "we dont' want no 2 state we want 48" and "globailze the intifada"
At Cooper Union, Jewish students were blocked in the library as protestors screamed slurs at them.

When have I not admitted wrongdoing by Israel? I strongly disagree with that statement.
A ratio of deaths is not a reasonable measure. Israel takes steps to protect their own civilians. New homes all must have bomb shelters, and the development of the Iron Dome rocket defense system of course. Both have saved countless lives.
Are Israelis expected to just live with rocket bombardments daily because not enough Israelis have died?

Yes, of course I am against those things. Most people are. The soldiers should be held accountable, and any protestors / politicians defending it should be ashamed.
It is horrible when civilians die in war. One is too many. The steps the IDF has taken to avoid casualties are unprecedented, especially in to urban warfare.

This suggests you are not especially familiar with the 1967 war or its origins. But yes, before that, Gaza was under Egyptian rule.
Additionally if land was really the goal, why would Israel have returned the entire Sinai peninsula? Seems illogical.

No one should have to live through war. No one innocent should die. War is horror.
A few notes:
- The number of dead is not what determines proportionality of a response. Nor is military might.
- Hamas has openly bragged they use schools and hospitals for military purposes. The loss of schools and hospitals should rightly be condemned.
It's nightmarish Hamas intentionally turned their own civilians into an impossible battlefield. This is not humane.

I understand seeking out antisemitism on the fediverse isn't pleasant.
But I think it's an important thing to combat and document.
Misusing the #fediantisemitism hashtag in order to warn antisemites (and imply the original content isn't actually antisemitism) is even stranger. And darker.
It's really not that hard to believe people when they say something is hateful or offensive. It's really easy, actually. Or, if you disagree, just ignore it.
You don't have to actively defend Jew hate.

But your post holds Israel to a double-standard, which is antisemitic. "Children are being murdered" says this is intentional on Israel's part, rather than a horrific side-effect of an unprecidented urban-warfare environment.
A non-antisemitic way to make the same point could be "the tragic loss of life, especially of children, confuses people as to what is right or wrong, and who's responsible."
