Death ends the rule of a tyrant...but it does not silence the purpose of a martyr. And just as the words of JFK, RFK, MLK and every other political martyr of our country have been embolded in our history and have been used to shape our nation...American history will be, once again, shaped by the words and actions of a man who attempted to find common ground with people who disagreed with him. A man who stood boldly on his convictions. A man who had great faith and love for his fellow citizens.

Talk. Openly. Boldly. With humility. And attempted grace.

Don't join them in it through retribution.
Turning the other cheek does not mean inaction. It means a refusal to further perpetuate sin. It means taking people as they are and choosing to edit the role they play in your life...the access they have to you, your children, your time, your peace. Not by cutting out or removing them...again, let's not perpetuate sin (also, echo chambers are dangerous)...but perhaps establishing new boundaries.

So.
What to do?
Pray. Repent of the hatred and anger that you were made to feel. Engage in discourse. Find common ground. Love your neighbor.
Not every person is your person...but every person is A person.
And perhaps you are moved to anger or disbelief by those around you. Those who are silent. Or flippant. Or purposefully obtuse. Or joyous in the chaos, hatred, and death.

3. The American people - who are being sent a message right now that our country is too far gone and we cannot come together. This primes us for a "fix"...which is often times erodes our freedoms in the name of "safety" (gander at the Patriot Act if you have time today)...and the "cure" ends up perpetuating the disease.

Okay, so then - who has something to lose from the death of Charlie Kirk?
1. The American right lost a voice of a generation.
2. The American left lost a voice willing to engage and attempt to find common ground. —

Who has to gain from the death of Charlie Kirk?
- well, depending on your flavor of conspiracy, there are plenty of options to choose your own adventure. But - I dont know that *this* particular answer matters for most people in the sense that it won't change the ultimate call to action for most of us.

What is to be gained by the death of Charlie Kirk?
1. Silencing a man who worked to teach youth how to reach across the aisle through peaceful discourse. This does two things: attempts to silence his ideas and perpetuates the lie that we are unable to find common ground.
2. The further division of the American people. This one, to me, is obvious.

Hi. It’s been a while.
I haven’t had much to say. Today I do. I would rather remember 9/11, but here we are…
Tragedy is often used to create confusion...and events like what just happened to Charlie Kirk are often used to create movement that is chaotic...that chaos used to create more tragedy...
So, let's think critically by asking a few simple questions.

Americans should prepare for the fall of the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria. In the last week his forces have lost control of most of Northern Syria due to a carefully planned advance from "moderate rebels" allied with Turkey. (aka isalmist terrorist organizations who nonetheless oppose our traditional enemies such as Al Qaeda, ISIS, etc) 1/
