It was an acceptable ratio in Iraq. Actually, it's better than the ratio we managed there, and that's despite Hamas using Gazans as human shields.
What should be expected is for Israel to put its own citizens first. Hamas is responsible for feeding Gazans but they don't care.
We're at the point where America is airdropping food because Hamas just confiscates aid trucks and hoards it for themselves.
If Hamas cares about Gazans, it must surrender.

I am not attacking, much less denigrating, sincerely religious people. If their sincerity leads to morality, then they are welcome. But their religious arguments are not.
Religious beliefs are private, and like your privates, you shouldn't expose others to them against their will.
Just as you wouldn't pull out your genitals to defend your preference for public policy, you should not invoke your religious beliefs to that end. It's vulgar. Keep it in your pants, or church.

I'm not directly arguing with you, I'm commenting on what you said about religion being abused.
My point is that there's just no place in religion in public discourse.
If you want to justify benevolence, you can do it on its own terms. And if you want to justify bigotry, you don't get to hide behind the Bible or whatever.
For contrast, consider how the IVF ban in AL explicitly invoked religion as its basis.

Religion is, at best, morally neutral. Good people don't need it to justify being good, but bad people can and do use it to justify being bad.
So, for example, you don't need a religious explanation for supporting equal rights, although I suppose you could use a religion to provide one.
However, if you want to support bigotry, it's really hard to do that on its own terms, and much easier to just say that your religion demands it.
