Met the love of my life in 1968 & together ever since, moved to #SFBayArea at 18 for SF State, drafted away by the #AlternateService as a CO, returned in ‘78. Was a #Union biomedical tech until retiring to Reno, NV. Resettled 03/22 in Vallejo. Never used Twitter but thought I’d give social media a go after learning about #Mastodon. Looking to find a local group of #Chess players. Favorite quote - It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Last Notes npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret Wife’s cat disappears whenever we get the travel crate out and it took awhile for us to figure out that she had found a way to climb in between the drawers of our chestbed. Apparently there is a space that exists we weren’t aware of, but is her go to whenever a vet visit is looming. npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret The good, the bad, and the too spicy npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret Deep Throat npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret The Smurfs - Blue Moon npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret Talkin’ ‘Bout My Juicer Station npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret Here Comes the Sunkist npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret The Elf on the Supply Room Shelf npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret Pictures from #NoKings #Vallejo npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret That pneumonia vaccine is a one and done, so definitely up to date, though I got the original shot for shingles (which was also supposed to be a one and done), but a newer version that’s about 20% more effective came out and Medicare covered it. npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret The Importance of Being Sherbet npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret Will You Love Me Tomorrow, cause I’m going to sleep now npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret The Culture Clash of the Titans npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret Glad to see that this bullsh*t email from the Social Security Administration is being called out for the political propaganda it is. In previous administrations, politics was never a part of communication from this government agency, but now they have eviscerated the trust they had with the American people built up over nearly a century npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret In the lead up to the 2024 election, I was at an event in Vallejo volunteering for at a charity booth when a Hispanic man asked me to watch his dog. He came back an hour later and we discussed the upcoming election, and I discovered he was supporting Trump, because he was convinced he was the peace candidate. He was in his 30’s, an immigrant from Central America and I wish I could find him now to see what he thinks now. If he’s still around, that is. People are so stupid, how do they buy the bull that Faux News keeps pedaling npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret It may be that my skill set at this is at fault, and I sent you part two of an article that my son sent me. Cost of government will surely drop, but also its value. If you boost someone’s toot about it, I will unfollow. Have a nice life, but I’m not interested in anything else you have to say. Maybe you are too young to remember 2000, the SCOTUS handing Florida to Bush despite the State clearly wanting Gore and Nader voters making a statement that ended up with 9/11, the longest war in our history and the deaths of hundreds of thousands not to mention the cost in dollars and climate damage. Not again! npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret Reelecting him is the hard part in your post, I just don’t see it happening at this point, and he has been a great President. He should hand the baton off to VP Harris and enjoy many years of retirement, knowing he saved democracy. During the debate, he screwed up. One bad episode. The follow-up to remedy the debate performance was poorly executed, and ineffective. The polls haven’t moved much because most folks have decided they are for or against #TheFelonyGuy but with Harris, I believe we will win overwhelmingly. People want a choice that isn’t between two old men and those turned off by a women of color are MAGAts, anyway. No excuse for Biden if the Republicans beat him, I don’t care if he thinks it’s okay to lose as long as he gives it his all, the rest of us matter, too. npub1rk4fphfse8g74z2rnxxhzzqq45tlkt4l4pv7z8gg49psvhydwq5qa8ez3s Jeff Shaffer CBET, ret This administration under Biden moved the needle far more to the left than I ever expected when both houses of Congress were in Democratic hands, albeit two of those D’s were DINO’s (Sinema & Manchin) in the Senate. The centrists compromised because it was possible. Losing the House meant it wasn’t possible, the compromised happened, but we’re not center/left, they were center/right. We have got to stick together this election and vote strategically to give our issues priority
