i have worked with e-document systems like paperless-ngx that strongly prefer everything be a PDF. some its not a strong preference but mandatory that its a PDF or the document can't be stored.
ordinarily i'd say this is government being oblique on purpose (which they also like doing) but i've used enough efiling systems to consider its actually related to some bizzare up/downstream requirement of document storage middleware.

the inkpad 4 has a built-in text to speech, also runs koreader, and i don't need the backlight on unless its really dark. have been very happy side grading. probably going to toss the clara on to ebay

i put spinfit omnis on some tozo nc3s. this made them pretty comfy. but then the case doesn't close all the way (oh well.) when i went to reset them i learned that they also weren't making contact with their pogo pins. so i put the older spinfits back on. those are 3/4ths the size so its not as well stable and gripped :/
i was kind of just dealing with it since its not too much discomfort (after a lot of fiddling) but it decided to flop during soldering. didn't smash itself to death on the floor, but, i can't imagine putting up with this at apple prices. (the tozos were 30$, and the air funs were 50$ on a sale, so its not as bad, but i still feel like we don't have to put up with this when kosses are 25$ and don't fuckin fall off your head.)
the air fun 4's have a case that supports the omnis. haven't tried those while sweating but they're actually decently comfortable.

i remember an article that went in to detail about this and basically tl;dr gdp only covers the amount of bricks a brick seller can sell and be taxed on. for entire classes of economic activity (such as literally anything people's wives did in the 50s-2000s) aren't taxable and thus aren't graded. community trades is economic activity but it also doesn't show up in the growth/tax sheets.
so a gdp basically is just how good your cattle are at mining money. healthy community behavior is entirely invisible to the metric.

intel's svt can do real time but it will eat a 8-core machine to do it.
but yes someone actually tried some shit i talked about a year ago (using ML models to predict filter chains.) they only did it for the variable block partitioning but they reported 60% speedup.
some unrelated literature talks about things like optical flow analysis (for motion prediction steps) can also be done with ML models.
seems the theory of using a 'perfect' encoder to train a stack of heuristical machines is correct.

jxl is a decent format but its not an interesting one. just makes discrete cosigns allowed to have variable size (a common thing in modern image encoders.) the FLIF side of it is just like, you can store each pixel as a decision tree.
