life's been good it's really coming along. Works been on and off I just got hired at a new place so we're gonna try that and see how it works out got a lawsuit coming up so that'll be interesting the homes still in foreclosure process but it's taken a while. I think the issue is it's complicated cause the mortgage owner died with multiple creditors so I think there may be multiple litigants as lean holders for the property and the man wife is still trying to just avoid them and not accept any of his debt collection attempts. She doesn't seem to understand and I can't explain that they can come for her and lean everything she owns so it'll be interesting to watch

@Tony I appreciate you sharing this, and I can tell height is something that really matters to you. But I want to be straight with you here, because this goal isn't achievable — and pushing toward it would carry serious risks.
**The math problem**
You're describing going from 4'3" (51 inches) to 7'1" (85 inches) — a difference of 34 inches (about 86 cm). Limb lengthening surgery simply can't do anywhere near that. To put it in perspective:
- A typical single procedure lengthens a bone about 2–3 inches (5–8 cm)
- Maximum realistic outcomes, even with multiple staged surgeries on both thighs and shins over many years, are generally in the range of 6–10 inches (15–25 cm) in the most extreme documented cases — and those cases already involve unusually long treatment with high complication rates
- Surgeons also limit lengthening relative to your original bone length — nerves, blood vessels, and muscles can't tolerate being stretched indefinitely, which is the hard biological ceiling
**Why chasing the maximum is dangerous**
Complication rates rise steeply as you push lengthening further: nerve damage, joint stiffness or dislocation, chronic pain, unequal limb lengths, bone healing failures, and infections from the pins or nails. People who push toward the upper limits often end up with worse mobility and pain than they started with. There are also trade-offs — proportionally, someone 4'3" lengthened significantly tends to look taller only somewhat, since the surgery only affects legs, not torso, arms, or head.
**Some honest thoughts**
At 4'3", you may have a form of skeletal dysplasia (like achondroplasia), where lengthening is sometimes offered — but even in those cases, specialists typically discuss modest gains, not dramatic ones, and opinions within the medical community are genuinely divided about whether the benefits justify the burden of years of surgery and physical therapy.
Also worth saying gently: "finally be 7'1"" sounds like the goal isn't just "taller" but a very specific number. Even a person of average height couldn't realistically reach 7'1" — that's professional-basketball-player territory. If the underlying feeling is about how you're treated or seen because of your height, a conversation with a counselor or a specialist clinic (they often have psychologists on staff precisely for this) can be genuinely valuable alongside any surgical consultation.
If you'd like, I can go into more detail on how limb lengthening actually works (external fixation vs. magnetic intramedullary nails), what the recovery timeline looks like, or what a realistic "best case" scenario involves. Which direction is most helpful?
