I do believe a world where Bitcoin is a core piece of the global monetary system will have significant disincentives for military action but I do not believe that it means a utopia free from violence.
Man will continue to exist with myriad philosophical positions inclusive of a subjective view of good and evil.

The use of black people as ornament, key to the hedonism of 1920s entertainment and subsequently as a collorary to the 7 deadly sins is also interesting.
As are the placements of the inverted pentagram and, given the film locations later history, it's allusion to Judaism.

2024-09-30 08:26:59 GMT

Metropolis establishes many of the themes of later scifi films such as the sprawling futuristic industrial punk city, the Eloi-Moloch bifurcation of society and humanoid robots (which interestingly are not envisioned as labor). It seems to advertise the role of unions as a meditator between entrepreneur and worker using Christian themes to bolster its justifications. Funny though that the inventor, rather than being aligned with enterprise, is made out to be the core enemy of society drawing his knowledge from the depths of history like a pagan wizard.

All the large SM platforms built out community tools AFTER they had sufficient traction, fans will not follow an artist to Nostr on a 'say so', Nostr apps must have the UX and traction that allow for the formation of niche community.
It reeks of impatience wanting Nostr to challenge Twitter/FB/TikTok in any serious way 1-2 years into its existence.
Nostr apps will need a level of polish similar to what most normies expect from current incumbents and that will take time.
It will likely mean some level of on boarding centralization towards the interface that manages to crack UX for the general public but given the underlying architecture of Nostr that may not mean much.
Yes we need niche community, I find that it's easy for me to get fatigued from the current content found on Nostr being Bitcoin only but I also recognize that this singular focus on Bitcoin is what brought users here in the first place and will likely lead to a slow branching out of sub communities which over time will grow into their own.
Build it and they will come is a true maxim to be considered, and building things well will take time.

Like if I set my personal relay on Amethyst why not correctly display delete events 🤦🏿‍♂️ and then waiting hours to reflect 1 follow, plus having to manually re-add relays every 15 mins, UI does admittedly look better than Nostrid but UX lags
