So, I need #Facebook for work (😢).
Did you know Facebook requires a face scan for new accounts these days? I’ve been spending the evening setting up Deep Live Cam in Anaconda to faceswap myself live and send the output to an OBS Virtual Camera to be used as a webcam in my browser (where they do the scan).
Currently stuck at the very last step where I can’t change the name of the Virtual Camera. OBS developers have said they won’t work on this. So, this makes it possible for websites (like Facebook) to check for “OBS Virtual Camera” input and permban you. Shite, so close.
EDIT: Also tried sending to browser via NDI. But NDI also does not seem to allow virtual camera name changes any longer.

I give #xmpp a try every few years hoping that it has become easier to use.
I recently installed Kaidan and started chatting with another person using Kaidan. I then installed Conversations by @nprofile…ddc2 hoping I could continue the conversation there.
However, every message we had sent in @nprofile…3xu9 had been replaced with “This message is encrypted with OMEMO 2 but could not be decrypted”.
I guess the keys are stored locally and needs to be transferred to Conversations somehow?
I'm on xmpp.earth which seems to have good XEP support.
Where do I go from here? Thanks!

Have you heard if vkdt, darktable’s graph based cousin? Extremely underrated.https://jo.dreggn.org/vkdt/

Are there any alternatives to Google Maps (preferably open source) for Android that will let me adjust a recommended route for navigation, like Google Maps does?
In the web desktop version of Google Maps, if I set a start location and a destination, it gives me a recommended route. I can then grab the blue line that represents the recommended route to adjust it.
This is insanely helpful as no apps pick the best route for cycling on the Swedish countryside. This feature would allow me to plan my trips ahead and not fiddle with my phone when I’m out cycling (which would be wonderful).
If there are no Android solutions, what is the easiest way to create a route (GPX?) with a desktop Linux FOSS app that can later be used on my phone?

You've piqued my interest! The @nprofile…6l8k profile is pretty much empty and https://www.albguerra.it and https://www.typebreak.org both seem gone. 🙂

I want to create a drag and drop “interface” or “app” from a bash script in Linux.
Say I have bash script to generate a jpeg file with jpegli and a webp file with cwebp. I just want to be able to drag single or multiple input png files to a GUI app to have the script run and convert each of them.
I’m thinking along the lines of the macOS Automator.
Does something like this exist in the world of #linux?

@npub1ecx…yjcq About Signal’s new usernames. They still need your phone number. From https://signal.org/blog/phone-number-privacy-usernames/ :
“Note that a username is not the profile name that’s displayed in chats, it’s not a permanent handle, and not visible to the people you are chatting with in Signal. […] Usernames in Signal do not function like usernames on social media platforms.”

Was hoping that OpenCore Legacy Patcher would give this maxed out 2015 11" MBA (the last of its kind) a few more years. Sonoma on this thing turned out to be extremely slow and rather buggy. @npub1g74…w635 here I come, I guess.
