The question was never whether the pressure exists or the City of Man is present, but whether we recognize it and how we resist it. This article is an attempt to make the current pressure visible, so it can be countered more effectively.
This matters well beyond the Church: the same method of capture and language shift happens everywhere, in politics, institutions, organizations of every kind. Even in our own language...
Can you spot it?

2026-05-04 19:03:08 GMT

The Church didn't stop talking about God, but it did stop talking about sin. The corpus data shows exactly when, exactly how much, and exactly what replaced it, and the shift is visible and real. This is what framework capture looks like when you measure it.
Augustine saw this coming sixteen centuries ago. The City of God and the City of Man are always intermingled, even within the Church itself, and the pressure of the earthly city never lets up.

If you care about how narratives acquire authority, and why they become so difficult to question without triggering immediate moral collapse, this piece is for you.

See, the problem is rarely that a story is outright false.
The problem, more often, is that it is too simple.

2026-04-08 19:38:46 GMT

- reply

It is an attempt to examine:
* how such stories are built,
* why certain fragments cohere into a dominant narrative,
* what gets lost in the process, and
* how single-cause simplicity turns so quickly into moral judgment.

2026-04-08 19:38:01 GMT

- reply

That compressed simplicity is precisely why it holds and spreads so easily.
It helps that the main villain is from a country few have heard about, and even fewer can find on a map.
It also helps that spreading this story gives a sense of moral heroism while denouncing a clear atrocity!

2026-04-08 19:37:38 GMT

Everyone “knows” the Congo story in a few lines:
A greedy king turns an African territory into his personal fiefdom, forces rubber quotas at gunpoint, chops off hands for non-compliance, and kills ten million people in a hidden holocaust. It is simple, morally clear, and immediately intelligible, and any further questions are closed off by labeling it a ‘hidden holocaust’.

2026-04-06 15:00:06 GMT

- reply

The result is not necessarily false, and certainly not a lie in the strict sense, but it is often distorted in ways that matter, especially when strong moral judgments are built on top of it.
The story of Congo is a clear case where that process can be examined in detail. This article here is a short primer. The full study that follows is much longer, and considerably less forgiving.

That works well for simple situations, but begins to fail, sometimes spectacularly so, when applied to complex historical events, where multiple causes, uncertainties, and competing dynamics are involved and different interpretations can exist together, even when they appear to contradict each other when forced into a single causal chain.

2026-04-06 14:59:46 GMT

Have you ever wondered how much of our “common knowledge” is actually true?
Much of it is, but not all. And the parts that aren’t true are rarely built on lies, but on something much simpler: compression.
Complex realities are reduced to simple causal chains, where one actor, one motive, and one outcome provide a clear and morally satisfying story. Over time, through repetition, that compressed version replaces the layered reality it came from.

2026-02-27 18:09:28 GMT

Authentic used to mean correspondence with reality.
Now it means correspondence with self.
That rotation changes everything.
Once identity replaces reality as the standard:
– formation becomes oppression
– excellence becomes elitism
– truth becomes aggression

It allows us to share lessons and wisdom and insight, from a shared substrate, accessible to us all.
Here I leave you with an excerpt from C.S. Lewis' 'The Last Battle', closing his Narnia series.

Israel and Hamas are accepting, conditionally and carefully.

We all saw the video of this little lass tried to fend off an immigrant male with a knife and a hatchet to protect her 12 year old sister.
It went viral, and she became an archetype of the exhaustion and resistance of the British people.
Uncovering the background story only confirms that interpretation.
The little girl, afraid and under attack by a predator, is asking why she has to bear the burden of defending her sister...

Part 2: What to expect of today's meeting.
No immediate peace, but talks about security architecture for Europe and the world. A repair, also, after Russiagate and its diplomatic fallout towards Russia.
Most importantly, we need to realize how Zelensky (and many leaders in the West) simply don't want peace, despite their lofty and emotional pleas.
The situation on the ground does not favor Ukraine, and too many still ignore that.

Today, Trump and Putin are meeting in Alaska.
It is not about immediate peace, as there is no Ukrainian delegation to make that happen. Instead, they will talk about security infrastructure, in Europe and worldwide.
Meanwhile, why is Trump on this incessant peace drive? Because to him, peace will come through economic strength and shared prosperity.
With that stated goal in mind, let's revisit the Federal Reserve, how that institute was hijacked, and what Trump did.

Outing of corruption
Russiagate

We seldom think about how we think. Often, our thoughts follow similar patterns:
in binaries
black-and-white
either/or
focused on the immediate need/want
We forget our thoughts are shaped by our framework of presuppositions, and that we can 'invent' patterns.
We only rarely think ahead about the consequence of our immediate fixes.
Apply this to (geo)politics, elections, etc. and the importance of being aware how we think becomes very clear...

By now you likely have heard about the daring attack by Ukraine on Russia’s strategic bombers. Most commentators will only talk about that attack itself, but this is part of a much longer series of provocations, nuclear level, by the West/Ukraine.
Russia has remained calm, but steeled its resolve. The message they heard: the West does not want peace with Russia. All talk to the contrary is just vanity, meant for consumption by the media.

For Ukraine and the West, the main battleground is that of public perception, their main weapon propaganda.
Too many still accept the 'official' numbers of the death toll of the war, with very low casualties on Ukrainian side, and astronomical losses of Russian soldiers.
What if this is projection, and the truth was the other way around?
This article explores a vast number of different data sources to support that claim.

A quick update and primer on the military tactics Russia is using in Ukraine.
To understand the current peace and cease-fire proposals, we need to have a good grasp of the tactical situation on the ground, what is really going on.
If Russia is completing its objectives, has the Ukrainian army where they want them, why stop fighting so close to the finish line, and allow Ukraine to regroup, rest, rearm, and undo what months and years of attrition have achieved?

Which are increasingly descending into totalitarianism. This time no emperor or Fuhrer, but a Queen, Queen Ursula (Fond-of-Lying).

Same here. Russia won't accept a cease-fire. They've been burned by that before: Minsk 1 and 2 were such cease-fires, where Ukraine (and the West) abused that time to rebuild and train their army, with the explicit goal to retake the Donbass and Crimea.
They were almost ready early 2022, which is the direct cause that triggered Russia's invasion.
But a mass surrender/desertion would at least prevent the possible annihilation of disorderly retreating/collapsing troops...

Precisely.
The similarities with WWI are uncanny. The stab-in-the-back narrative is a real danger, but I don't think Ukraine War 2.0 is inevitable. It all depends on how the war is ended, what the conditions are, etc. France humiliated Germany in 1918, still completely hurt from their own humiliation they received at the hands of Germany in 1870 (being overrun in 3 months, losing a major battle where you let your own emperor be captured...).
Let's see this unfold.

2025-02-21 15:37:06 GMT

There are a lot of signs that the Ukrainian troops are on the verge of collapse. Still, their soldiers are hanging on, fighting through.
Trump's recent actions, however, will more than likely break their will to keep fighting (and dying). When that happens, the whole front will collapse.

Santa, Nutcrackers, and slavery.

What starts as a cozy story of how Saint Nicholas became Santa in the US, and an iconic expression of Christmas cheers and generosity at this festive time, holds a much darker secret.
Below the iconic Santa and Nutcracker lies a whole web of old folk tales and traditions, pointing to a strongly kept collective memory: slave hunts.
