This is a lovely, quiet, wonderfully beautiful video about why your phone is pinging too much. A recommended watch https://youtu.be/Ira28fgSF7M?is=OVpRkKOYLKcBBz57

RE: https://wandering.shop/@cstross/115995187467947699
Ten years ago I was trying really hard to launch a startup in the aerospace industry and this is one of the ideas we considered. The reason why this can’t work is heat, which is produced by computers the more energy they consume, and is REALLY hard to get rid of in space. Unless Musk has suddenly found a way to transfer heat in a vacuum, this whole thing is a dud.

I have a ticket to nine inch nails in Berlin on July 1 and I don’t think I can attend, personal reasons. Fairly good seating, I paid 94€, but I’m willing to sell it for 60€ or best offer. Anyone interested? Please reboost

Why is the Apple TV app for macOS so incredible buggy? Like seriously, I open the app, I click on the new Murderbot episode, nothing happens. I navigate to the episode itself, click play, nothing. Wrong answers only please.

And the fun thing? I could have avoided all that if I had looked at my phone properly. Because when I set my alarm, it set it to „tomorrow“, which when setting after midnight, is the wrong date.

Next Check: can I fly? I checked Kayak and found a flight for a „reasonable“ price of 250 bucks. Not fun, and I don’t like unnecessary flying, but oh well. I booked a shitty seat on that machine.

2025-04-27 08:14:23 GMT

Oh well, so I checked if I could rebook my existing train ticket instead. But nope, I didn’t get a flex ticket to save money, which is usually a smart choice.

2025-04-27 08:14:21 GMT

The train was gone. Even if I could have teleported straight to the station, it would have departed already. So I checked alternative trains.
All Alternative trains were over FOUR HUNDRED BUCKS!

So I went to a social gathering last night, didn’t drink too much but had a wonderful time. Arrived home just after midnight and was very conscious of setting a super early alarm to 5am to catch my train to Augsburg at 7 in the morning.

Pro tip: if your search engine of choice tends to throw an AI answer in your face instead of search results, you can simply append the word “fuck” to your query to make that go away 🤠
