It’s bitcoin, not a shitcoin. All coins on a sidechain is redeemable on mainchain.
But a sidechain can do much more than mainchan while never risking any of the coins there.

I believe the bottleneck is mainly the complexity users have to manage. On nostr you can get up and running very fast, while on alternatives it’s more complex.
We are still early though, so it’s hard to say how the network will evolve. I do think we’ll see more centralized services, but the users have more freedom to select their operators.
Just like email and gmail

2023-02-23 20:40:40 GMT

- reply

Well that’s a complicated question 😅
I would describe nostr as a pseudo p2p network. It’s not real p2p because everyone isn’t connected to everyone, but rather in a hub-and-spoke network.
Running your own relay gives you more freedom and security.

Probably not, but it doesn’t really have to as the web in general is great at hosting video. But a client could easily show video that are linked from elsewhere.

yeah. so depending on how it's presented, people might start to think of it as verifying their legitimacy.
but I might be overly skeptical. it's probably not that big of an attack surface in reality. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i agree. will be nice to have as an extra feature though! 🤑

2022-05-12 06:58:55 GMT

it is security by obscurity though.
might not be smart to condition people to expect color to verify people, as an attacker don't have to match the color exactly (just close enough to fool people).
other than that i think it's a good idea

yeah if you get it to work with aws then it should work on any other s3-service

What's required depends on how the s3-service is set up
