If I started this online account, one of the reasons was that I couldn't achieve a community compost where we live in a maga neighborhood.
If you are not part of their community you are an outcast and good luck with achieving anything.
I honestly believe that such a project would transform this place for the better.
We have areas that are possible to flood and layering compost on those areas would improve the topsoil capacity to drain water.
The compost would also improve all of the front yards of every single neighbor who would not have to pay for this.
I could also help some of the older residents with their yard work.
It would be a huge benefit for the community but it is too complicated to trust a stranger to do it.
Yet those people put signs in their front yard that explain that you should love your neighbor.

Yes, I added extra layers around and inside the bin especially when we had freezing temperatures. I had to do this for a few nights but it was far from being a permanent solution.

So far this year our composting worms are still in their outdoor estate.
The nights are still over 40F/5C. Bellow this temperature, they have to be taken indoors.
Last winter we made an experiment and left a worm bin outside all winter. The worms were fine and did not die.
This is how we can tell that the #climate here is affecting our area.
We are not influenced by the mambo jumbo on TV about the #climatechange. We can notice at our place the change.
Composting worms should not be able to stay all winter outside here if the weather is normal.

Montreal has opened a compost factory to deal with the city's waste on a large scale.
The goal is for all of the habitants to have a compost bin by next year.
If all of the major cities did that and decided to apply this compost to the areas that are at risk of flooding, it would certainly prevent a lot of damage from weather events.

But in a climate crisis where migrants will come from the North and not from the South, we have to choose those who are the least crazy.
