Had two conversations this past week on a family visit. Two old friends both work on projects they feel morally uncertain about. One is helping companies mine user data even though he adamantly opposes this practice.
The other is working on fighter pilot helmets even though he’s a Libertarian who SHOULD be for the non aggression principle, and is to a large extent.
Both cited mortgages and family bills as hurdles to finding other jobs.
MY OPINION: the shackles of the ‘new world’ is the making of our ‘choice’ to stand up for what we believe in more difficult. When you have bills to pay, it is difficult to #rebel . WE ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE. But when your dollars are melting, and prices are rising, the ability to choose gets very painful. ‘They’ have made the ‘moral choice’ extremely inconvenient and difficult.
WE ARE WHO WE CHOOSE TO BE.
and we, and only we, will incur the consequences of our choices.

A theme that continues to develop is how dangerous the idea of peace seemed to be during the JFK years. I have been pondering this. WHY WAS JFK’s TURN TOWARDS PEACE SO DANGEROUS?
My own reflections have led me to the (obvious?) understanding that PEACE IS NOT PROFITABLE. At least if your industry is war. But also as we have seen time and time again, war opens many doors that lead to the consolidation of power. ‘Regular’ people simply want to live their lives. They are WILLING to work, to add value to the world. A value that respects others and does not require the enslavement of your fellow humans.
It is interesting to me how much the people, the citizens wanted peace. Akin to today, what we all want, and what the media and those in power say we want feels so disconnected. I’ve seen Start9 a lot recently and am getting the sense that the #bitcoin community has moved to prefering it over Umbrel?

It’s strange. First of all, yes, I use Phoenix (at the moment) and it opens when I send a zap on someone’s profile.
I have tried the long hold on the ⚡️ button. Didn’t work.
But what’s strange is that, sometimes the zap buttons are there, but then when I toggle the zap.army they don’t show up. Is there a step I’m missing?
I’ve tried starting with Damus open and closed. I toggle the switch on. Then I close Damus (as instructed) and reopen it.

I’m trying to get the Damus hack ‘zap.army’ to work. I’m not a programmer. I toggle it on, restart the Damus app as instructed, but the zap buttons in notes ain’t showin up.
I MUST have note zaps! Any thoughts? Not sure what’s going wrong.
