Apparently AirPods Pro 3 gained support for Lossless audio thanks to a new "SPR AVS" audio protocol (Spatial Relay Audio-Video Sync). Works only with the iPhone 17 thanks to the new modem Apple built.
Too bad I decided to flip the switch on my iPhone the other day to downgrade from lossless music because I only ever use wireless headphones. 😢 #Apple #AirPodsPro3

Some other possibly useful context re: iPhone, satellite, and Starlink I just learned.
Apparently this is a carrier thing, not Apple. Some recent iPhones have the ability to reach out to satellites in an emergency, but I guess *which* satellites is designated by your carrier.
The Starlink change was a choice/partnership by T-Mobile. I guess TMO customers are the only ones connecting to Starlink, only in an emergency, if we leave this setting on.

I *believe* the phone never attempts to talk to a satellite unless you truly get out of range of any local cell towers, even ones off network. We might need some #infosec folks to confirm that.
There are some options in Settings > Emergency SOS (near the bottom), but none of them completely disable the feature. They only disable the extra triggers available to initiate a call when you are in various forms of distress (like hold the side + volume button to initiate a satellite call).

On a car ride earlier today, my wife, a friend, and I discussed Bill Withers. I already use Things 3 for personal and work stuff. But I'm trying to replace 2Do for my gaming needs, which still somehow does not support iCloud.
Yes I use a task app to track some light gaming tasks like weapons I'm hunting or quests to complete don't judge me

Could you log out or go incognito, visit the account, and grab them that way?

The Lincoln Project does not fuck around with its response response to #Trump’s C&D

Weird that #Trump would call #Kamala a ‘beautiful woman’ (and then of course stumble and sort of walk it back or whatever)
I could be wrong, but to me she doesn’t look at all like his daughter.

And that is basically the definition of sealioning, by the way: hopping into a conversation, even if well intentioned (although sealioning often isn’t), with a comment that is not actually related to the conversation.
To be painfully clear: I don’t think anyone is disbelieving your experience, and we aren’t getting into it now. It is besides the point. That conversation was/is about the challenges black people have on Mastodon, and the frustrations they’ve had in trying to fix them.

I’ll take a shot at answering this, even though I shouldn’t: the response you gave here was out of place and unhelpful: https://linuxrocks.online/@yisraeldov/112876942259859826
A black Mastodon user was talking about the well documented problems, hostilities, and frustrations that black users uniquely experience in the fediverse. Hopping in with “I’ve experienced racism too!” doesn’t help, and came off as if you were trying to redirect or derail the conversation away from the black experience.

Hyundai Tuscon has a couple software updates. Cool, download the first one.
It wants a thumb drive with SIXTY FOUR GIGABLURTZ OF SPACE. And no, the updater does not seem to accept the external, port-powered 2TB SSD I plugged in and formatted. Some way, somehow, it wants a thumb drive
I have macOS recovery drives that aren’t even half that large
What is happening

#Tesla leased a parking lot (looks like a closed motel?) to store unsold #CyberTrucks. Guess the “there’s so many, you can see them from space” factor didn’t go over well.
Most (all?) are promptly vandalized. Lol #ElonMusk #Muskrat

This is partly why I have little buy-in for "Mastodon is too complicated."
Twitter was an absolute smorgasbord of confusion, bizarre ideas, and bad conventions. People still joined it.
IMO, the core of the problem is that we've had a decade+ of capitalist social media growing roots. People established ideas and habits. Now they're some mix of too busy, lazy, and locked-in via network effect to learn something new.
But miss me with that 'too confusing' nonsense. https://mastodon.social/@bastianallgeier/109308360571103988
