Five years ago today I had a glorious camp by an alpine lake high in the Colorado Rockies with Andrew Terrill who'd brought me up a weeks supplies so I didn't have to descend to buy some. #hiking

The birch in front of our house catching late sunshine. I see this tree every day. I have photographed it many times. It always looks fine. An old friend. #trees #cairngorms

The Spey racing along full of rain and snow melt today. Looks like summer. Doesn't feel like it! The river alive with birds. Dozens of sand and house martins zigzaging fast and low over the water. Tiny ducklings paddling along the edges. Mallard, goldeneye, and mergansers far out in the river. #Cairngorms #Strathspey #birds

Three recent pics from the Cape Wrath Trail. Found the Fire pot meals in Kintail Crafts. Best part of the day. Cloudy and wet after five days of sun. #capewrathtrail
