The church being evil is a common trope (but then again I took European history and in reality they were worse), but they very seldom get their comeuppance as an institution. Same with nobility. Some see evil ones, but the system remains.
Think of Prince John, and how evil he is supposed to be. With King Richard being a far bigger ahole and crusader. Or the nuns of Ireland murdering children systematically yet the church remains.
So think more of a The French Revolution Isekai, but not nearly as nice. Never seen that variation. The shield hero one did the king is evil, but they just swapped royalty and all was good after all. Missed opportunity to make the summoners the evil they are (ripping child soldiers through dimensions).

The computer built in webcams aren’t that terribly good either afaik.
Sounds like it’s software more than hardware.
Ever tried lowering the quality from the camera through software to see how “bad” it can get before it stops working well enough? <— no practical reason for this, just curious, don’t burn a lot of time on my behalf :)

I think that if you start categorizing art, and you start getting more specific as you go along. In the end you will end up with David Revoy, this Thursday.
That’s your actual art style. It’s not the same as Wednesday or Friday’s. All art styles are unique.
And on the flip side, as a consumer I either like it or not. That’s it.
So I think a lot of people just overthink it. Because they are probably not liking or disliking the anime/manga style. They like or dislike certain ones.
I mean not all Japanese comic art is moe, some are abstract or harsh.
So that’s a long way of saying that your style is yours, and for us that likes it it’s great. I love the mix of styles and influences because that’s how *all* art comes to be.
Also I love the whole European folklore turn Sword and Sorcery turn into a Japanese thing. From Deedlit to Frieren :)
I mean who had a fit when Tolkien didn’t exactly follow old Norse elves after all?

You style is definitely European (if there is such a thing per se, but I hope anyone reading things forgive me that vagueness) and I think this is the first time a character made me think of anime.
I think it’s the ears. I wouldn’t have reacted if it was a goblin with those ears, but it’s definitely more Deedlit than Galadriel.
Curious of how this came to be:) Personally I like the mix, and generally like the slow mixing of influences from around the world.

Now I got curious because they definitely have spoken about it. What I could find was that the pro models have it since 12 (but not the others) and it’s apparently used for improved versions of other things. But not for motion tracking/face recognition.
(As a side note, whatever PSVR2 uses so you can see “through” them in b/w sees a bunch flashes from the phone, which I now am unsure what it is.)
It is so tricky to navigate even the most trivial of knowledge these days. I 100% thought they all used lidar for face tracking:(
Having a USB connected cube with a high quality (for the purpose) camera and things like lidar feels like it should be a boon to VTubing and similar.

Wish I could say I’m in software because I love it, but it’s more than I wasn’t good at much at all and had a knack for software. But it’s an awful business. :/

I still pronounce some words wrong because I had no reference what so ever one how to pronounce things when was a kid. English spelling is silly rando. :)
Some languages have far more phonetic writing. Basically if you see a word you can pronounce it correctly the first time.
(Germanic languages are all a big mess.)

Think of it as I want vanilla KDE etc. Lower level integration to make things work isn’t an issue. It’s more the “we have this philosophy blah blah” that isn’t very much my thing.
I’ve eyed arch, but worry that installing it and keeping it going is kind of a new time consuming hobby. Which is more the what I want to jump into.
Me and Red Hat had a falling out decades ago (before fedora) and I haven’t been very keen on it. The distros that is, rpm and such. Might be worth a look. But then again light branding is more branding that I wish for.
I have been eying the new future KDE distro. I’m curious about the whole image based core systems. Sounds a bit like I’d like it. I believe bazzite (sp?) uses that. Ever given that a go? The immutable image thing that is.
Currently stuck on Kubuntu that was just meant to be installed to see if I assembled the computer correctly. Been a quest to find a distro for me since the 90s. Went to school with Per that made CRUX btw:)
Hopefully it doesn’t come off as if I don’t value your input. I do quite a lot. Followed long enough that I know you truly know your stuff. I just seem to have an odd idea of what I want :)

Going to ask a question if that’s ok. Do you happen to know of a distro that is up to date (I want to be no more than a minor version behind KDE and no version behind dev tools and such), but free of a bunch of ideas and wanting to be special?
As in I just want the defaults from the projects, no own identity and philosophy and stuff.
Have never been able to lock in on anything. Usually falls down on something:( Sometimes because it’s too fiddly (just because I can figure it out doesn’t mean I want to, just to have a working system).

If you ask 10 people you are going to get 12 answers, so you can interpret me as answer 8:)
I’ve been thinking of something similar and my thought is, newest used 32GB Lenovo I can find with AMD (because I’m going to Linux and Nvidia works out exactly never).
Prices are high and are going up. 8GB isn’t useful, 16GB and you are scraping by. CPU/GPU are super fast unless you want to game (then $500 is bigger spent on a PS5, as a decent GPU is more) the fancy games.

It’s cool that they release updates, but there can’t be that many people working on actual Minecraft (the Java version). Feels like things move pretty slow.
Just do something so it can be speed ran. People seem to love that :) Then break the speed runs:)

Was going to mention Retroreflectors on the moon, but realized that I think the idea there is to reflect back the same way it came in.
So it would be from Mexico back to the same point in Mexico. Great for science, poor for communication.
(And why any signal sent from earth more than likely will scatter too much before getting anywhere fun, unless I misremember too much.)

Grapefruit is also notorious for messing with medication if you haven’t heard of that one. Not vit C in that case, but reading the little “manual” for meds isn’t always wasted time. Sometimes it says things you didn’t expect.

I haven’t used my USB-c port in ages and swapped the case yesterday (the old original one was failing) and it was filled with random stuff. Was not easy to clean out, was scared I was about to break the dang thing:/
If the sensor has gotten tripped get ready to be convincing and get it properly serviced with AppleCare.

While I understand it, it’s a dangerous concept. Similar to how doctors should treat anyone no matter what.
Probably better ways to solve it though. For instance requiring a permit to hike, which includes instructions. For a nominal fee. Then if you are caught on the mountain you get a free rescue and a massive fine if you don’t have a permit.

People get insane around Nintendo and Apple, they are convinced that they just have to be evil in every possible way. I have my suspicions that these same people aren’t even using their products.
(Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t criticize them, just stay with facts and treat everyone the same.)
I thought it was a standard (well that’s a joke in itself) USB-C so you could in theory just connect it directly to a monitor. But I never dug into it. The dock has a fan after all and I rather avoid finding out if a third party dock has an issue or not. But I want a second dock and $119 over here is pretty steep.

Reminds me of other diseases that has multiple parts. First you get one, then it’s dormant, and then another pops up down the line. 5, 10, 20 years later.
Not saying it will happen, and I didn’t mention any examples on purpose. But it is a terrifying thought.
