Agree that watching the plunge is a beautiful thing to behold. Despite being adapted to do this, it’s such a bold commitment on the part of the Pelican. That sudden stall and quick turn, then nearly straight down into the water. Incredible. Not sure which species, but I’ve watch countless Pelicans make the plunge when in Sarasota Florida.
