Es gab eine Zeit, da wollte ich auch alles und jeden davon überzeugen. Das Feedback war nicht erfreulich.
Hab es dann irgendwann aufgegeben und das Thema nur noch auf Nachfrage angesprochen.
Hatte so bessere Erfahrungen.
Ich denke so sollte es sein. Deine Leute sollten wissen wen sie ansprechen können, wenn sie soweit sind. Ist halt eine heftige Reise zu sich selbst und jeder braucht seine eigene Zeit.
Bis dahin bleibt es halt ein Investment. Das gute ist, das überhaupt Berührung zu Bitcoin stattgefunden hat. Bitcoin zieht dich dann schon von ganz allein in sein Rabbithole 😃

I’m wondering about the same. Bitcoiner want #Hyperbitcoinization but then build complicated stuff and excuse this with saying that people need to take their shit in their own hands and study Bitcoin and Lightning to use it.
That’s naive to think. It just won’t happen quickly. That can take generations to happen.
If you want Hyperbitcoinization quicker than these apps need to be idiot proof and easy to use. When people have Bitcoin they automatically will learn more about it.
I don’t want to study a car motor before I can drive a car. I want to drive that car and then can study the motor if it fascinates me.
But to be clear in the end I agree that people need to study Bitcoin and understand the fundamentals. It just will take a lot of time.

But don’t you think that most people run their nodes with Umbrel or similar providers and they will update as soon as they see an update is available?
I guess people are so used to update their apps on the their smartphones because usually these updates bring improvements.
People might think it’s the same with Bitcoin updates and update as soon there is one.

Who cares about OpenSats? And what in your opinion is the solution for this? It is a centralized entity that is funding devs.
Sure there might be better ways in choosing which dev to support, but in the end it should not care?

For me Bitcoin stands for FUCK YOU and FUCK EVERYTHING.

They either will run out of bitcoin or they will lose interest as the transactions get too expensive that even the ordinals guys will lose interest when it does not give any ROI.
And yes that may take time as you said they could have big casinos backing them up, but they pay the fee in BTC, the miners get the fee and sell BTC in the market which we and the ordi guys can buy again.
As BTC gets more scarce because of halvings and people hodling, it will be harder for everyone to get the BTC. Harder by means of a higher prices.
I don't think that we see the same ordinals hype happening, when BTC costs 1 million or even 10 million or even higher.
And yeah you are right that bitcoin needs us as user. And because USD or EUR or every other currency is shit and BTC is the best money, it will have users.
But Bitcoin does not need individual users who think they know something better and need to change anything.
Funny how "Bitcoiner" now use "filter" to avoid using "censor" because Bitcoin stands for censorship resistant. 😅

As long as people who use inscriptions have to pay fees in Bitcoin, everything is ok.
If ordinals don't have any value, the ordinals guys won't tet any return on invest.
(As I dont use it and don't give a shit like a honey badger, I dont want to judge about the value here)
So there will be a time where they run dry of bitcoin and cannot use inscriptions anymore.
Problem solved.
I don't get how bitcoiners say "Bitcoin does not need you...." but then think they need to change anything to save Bitcoin. LOL

You want to increase the Blocksize.
I don’t know if you already spent time to inform yourself about the decentralisation of Bitcoin. Please do it. Read about fullnodes.
Hint: The Blockchain is now around 550 gigabytes big, after almost 15 years! That’s in a range where normal earning people can afford a hard drive to store the blockchain on. That’s what thousand of people around the globe are doing.
With bigger blocks, maybe the Blockchain would be 500 terabytes big or more. Then I want to see how normal people could afford that.
What would happen? Only big companies could afford buying that big hard drives and store the blockchain on it.
And we all would have to ask and trust them if we would like to verify anything on the blockchain. That’s centralisation.

I realise that I know far too little about relays.
But the Bitcoin rabbit hole is just too deep and I’m stuck in it too much. 😅
In the end I cannot take everything into account and have to trust an app or software that I’m doing it right.
But Bitcoin thought me not to trust but to verify.

As you mentioned conversations in real life are not recorded but only remembered for some time in our heads. Hopefully important stuff gets into our long-term memory and the rest can get lost after some time.
So in my opinion my regular chit chat on social media platforms can get deleted after some time and I would be okay with that. I think I would not go back a few years in my timeline and read my old posts. 😅
But what if someone posted some really valuable stuff. I would want that this note stays until infinity and beyond.
Yeah the next question is what is valuable? People value things differently.
Will be interesting how that will play out over time and what solutions will come up. 😊

Thx for explaining it to me. I’m not that familiar with the technical stuff about nostr, but that’s a good point with the missing incentive keeping up a relay.
You could make people pay for using your relay but to make that happen you have to offer a huge added value, so people think it’s worth it.
But for social media I don’t see that case. People are used to get that for “free” and would stay with the free relays and get annoyed that relays disappear altogether with their posts. I don’t see that the mass will accept that.
I think it’s more likely to happen that relay runners will seek profit from advertising companies.
Is it possible to setup a relay and only show e.g. posts about sneakers?
If yes, relay runner could define their niche, so advertising companies could reach a specific target group through them and pay the relay runner.
I’m really curious how that will be solved.
Time will tell. ✌️
