Thanks so much! I have been inspired to be doing more for the space because of all the great people and projects going on here. Including yours! So happy I can contribute a bit!

I am gearing up to release an album I am currently mastering. The band is Called The You Project, and they wrote and recorded 11 songs back in 2012 at their home studio.
The 3 band members did everything for the album until right after tracking, when the bass player/owner of the studio suddenly died. This shocked the other two band members who were left with simply memories of the experience and a CD with unmastered tracks.
A family friend was the guitar player in the band, and years ago he showed me the songs and I really liked them. The songs have an authentic classic rock feel, which makes sense because the members all grew up in the 70s and fell in love with music during that time.
A few months ago, I visisted the guitar player and brought him a copy of the @nprofile…56l3 v4v music magazine. I wanted to show him what I was getting into when it came to music. He asked me to copy a CD with his album on it so he could give it to the drummer he worked with, who had just gotten news of a stage 4 cancer diagnosis. Maybe the CD and listening to their songs could cheer him up in these dark times.
I asked if he would consider allowing me to release his album into #v4vmusic since the album was never released or really heard by anyone accept the band and close friends. This is when he brought up the fact that the album was technically never quite finished, and needed to be mastered.
This made me feel like I was on a mission. I said I could finish mastering the album, create an album cover, list all the credits and distribute the album online. The remaining band members approved and it has been my honor to be able to help these guys get their songs sounding better and make their work truely come to life.
Before Christmas the album will be finished and released, and I cannot wait to have it out there. For now, here is a taste of one song from the album, it is called "Light it Up".

I recently saw this good music movie called Begin Again. I remember when I was going to university for film I was also working at a movie theatre, and this movie came out, but I never saw it. Its about a female singer/songwriter and a music label producer who are both fed up with the music industry and its lack of depth and how it produces cookie-cutter songs simply to sell to the public. The music producer (Mark Ruffalo) hears a song by the singer (Keira Knightly) and decides to record an album for her as they both break free from the shackles that the industry has put on them. In the end, they decide to release the album not with a label but something that sorta sounds similar to #v4vmusic or bandcamp lol @nprofile…56l3 @nprofile…3sr2 @nprofile…v2r3 @nprofile…3cgl @nprofile…x7ug https://npub1tjlrtz99nvjxxv4x3zj5vm28vyv47gdyucjsw4xgvm28wv733d5svyqs50.blossom.band/e79db9e2739c24aab41911f1ab4e68f56d1400ed8d612f5c7d5f0a4c2117ced5.jpg

Interesting about the B vitamins! Yes I always encourage my wife to be as natural as possible with the pregnancy. Here in Canada its crazy how much they want to give the mother and the baby, vaccines and things that doctors recommend. I don't trust our medical system after covid and did research into vaccination in general and I think the benefits are unproven and risk of chronic disease is higher the more vaccines are given.

Been out of the BTC news for a while because of life and music, but there are several bitcoiners I highly respect that believe the rejection of BIP 110 means the mining pools have become co-opted and bitcoin is no longer decentralized. Do you not find it a bit reversed however that the large corporate entities and interests do not support this soft fork, when in the past it was those same interests who supported the hard forks?? This might not be as similar to BCH as you think...but what do i know lol

2026-08-08 06:27:30 GMT

- reply

Isn’t that the point of open source software though? And letting the free market decide what is most useful or needed? I honestly haven’t paid attention enough to BTC news in the last year or so to know the ins and outs of this, so I honestly don’t know if I support or not. I do not run a node so I am just interested to see what happens. But never has a soft fork resulted in a chain split. So I think this will probably be more uneventful than we think lol

2026-08-08 04:41:45 GMT

- reply

I thought BSV and BCH were hard forks, meaning wanting to expand the rules set so it is not reverse compatible. BIP 110 would be a soft fork and constrains the rules set, without changing them entirely.

Its a soft fork which does not change the main consensus rules for bitcoin. Its been a while since I listened to bitcoin podcasts but this BIP will essentially act as a filter that will not store large op returns or info stored in it on your node. It will only store transaction info and validate transactions that have the smaller op returns where you can't store too much information. The concern with large amounts of info being stored in the op return is that it will take up too Much space, and take longer to update or upkeep the blockchain, thus cutting down on decentralization by limiting the amount of people that have the space and ability to store extra information beyond the basic transactional info. The best way to think of a soft vs hard fork would be to consider a game of chess. You can change the rules such that pawns can move anywhere they want, but that wouldn't be the game of chess anymore. It's not reverse compatible with established rules. But you can change rules in a way that do not break the established rules of chess if say you and your opponent agree to only move each pawn once. Its a subset of rules that augment the established rules but do not outright break them.

2026-07-14 01:08:34 GMT

Yeah I have noticed order gets screwed up sometimes too. Sometimes it displays reverse order.

I feel like it’s not necessarily censorship. But it’s a filter. That’s why there are different version of bitcoin to run. The purists will say the white paper called bitcoin p2p digital cash, but lots of maxis will also say that like money, only one blockchain will be dominant for building society upon. And bitcoin can be used as an anchor of truth between the physical and digital worlds. If I were running a node I would probably run knots until convinced otherwise. The whole huge OP return thing could be used as an attack vector on btc’s decentralization. But that’s why you can run whichever version you want.

I agree the space is lacking the most in “fan” input with zaps and boosts. Two ways to fix: educate existing music fans on these protocols and how to get bitcoin to zap, or turn existing bitcoiners into fans. I think the latter is probably easier than the former.
