I have been incredibly impressed by the
am-i.exposed website/app. This is a huge level up for understanding your opsec on the bitcoin blockchain. There is easy integration with Umbrel and StartOS .40. Also there are excellent privacy guides on the webpage explaining the different techniques privacy can be gained and preserved.
Give it a spin in tor.

I totally forgot about Breez, and I never gave BlueWallet + lightning a chance.
I think Zues + a lightning sub wallet ran through Alby would be interesting. The native tor integration with Zues still gives me some headaches with not connecting. Although I wonder if that’s also my node 😅.

I was going to test muun ages ago, but I just never did lol. I’m curious about muun vs Bull Wallet. Is muun on chain at rest?
The swap fees on Bull I feel like could turn off a new user, but when I tested it recently the process was very slick, and I don’t have concerns about the liquid network even if it’s technically custodial. 🌊

What wallets is everyone using to onboard family and friends that show interest in bitcoin?
I’d feel 100% comfortable recommending Sparrow on desktop, but for mobile I’m less sure. Ideally it would be onchain/lightning because so much of the payment infrastructure is through lightning now.
It would be nice if there was native tor integration so they could utilize my node rather than a public one. I think this is the main thing Phoenix Wallet is missing. Orbot is so ass I can’t push anyone towards that haha. 😆

The recent discussion with @npub12rv…85vg and @npub1qny…95gx on @npub10at…02w3 had me thinking about ecash. I liked the comparison to custodial apps like Venmo/Cashapp and how ecash would be a better alternative for those. I do feel like the risk of the mint rugging you was glossed over though. Like if a large company was running the mint so you could trust them (and your less technical friends and family could trust them) under current laws there is no way aml/kyc wouldn’t be in place. Still interested where things will go.
