The grief arrived. You are in it now.
You thought you knew what grief felt like.
You have grieved before,
people,
jobs,
versions of a future you planned for and lost.
That grief had an object.
You could point to it.
You could tell someone what you were grieving and they would understand,
or at least nod in a way that approximated understanding.
This grief does not have a clean object.

A client was sharing their frustration today. The kind that comes from being exposed to the work and not being able to unsee what they now see.
I said: you know too much to go back but you don't know enough to go forward.
That is the shed.
Not a crisis.
A passage.
The old structure has dissolved.
The new one has not yet formed.

The Supreme Court's active participation in dismantling the protections that keep those the myth deems beneath it from having recourse is not a surprise. It should not be read as one. It is what systems, institutions, and policies do when the accountability portion of their own design begins to arrive. When the harm that was always structural starts landing close enough to the people who believed they were protected from it.

Dear White Folx,
"You can't do this work and sustain without burning out without joy because you have to have something to look forward to. Who wants to get beat down every day?"
I said this on the Yell Fire! podcast and it is one of the things I need you to understand if you are serious about this work.

I tell people I should come with a warning label. Not as a joke. As a fact. Once I show you what you have been missing, you cannot unknow it. There is a time before the conversation and a time after it, and they do not feel the same. Before, you could rely on ignorance as an excuse. After, there are decisions to be made. You either continue as you were, now with the full knowledge that you are choosing complicity, or you do not. That is not a comfortable place to be.

I was watching the new Henry David Thoreau documentary on PBS. He moves into a small house he built, with some help, on the land of his mentor Ralph Waldo Emerson. And this quote stopped me:
"My dwelling was small, and I could hardly entertain an echo in it. It was kitchen, chamber, parlor, and keeping-room; I enjoyed it."

Hasan Piker, of the Young Turks and one of the loudest voices in white left media, told Black people to "keep advocating for your own fucking demise" because we did not move on his timeline. That is not a gaffe. That is the architecture revealing itself under pressure.
This is the difference between trust and loyalty, and it is not complicated. What was demanded is loyalty. Show up when I say show up. Align with my coalition on my terms or I will remind you of your place.

On April 4th, I am hosting a free live event and I want you in the room.
Not to perform. Not to prove you get it. To practice.
Most of what white folx call doing the work is still happening inside your own head. Reading. Reflecting. Feeling bad. Feeling good. Feeling bad about feeling good.
What you do not get enough practice at is doing it with other people. In real time. When it is uncomfortable. When the pivot comes and you have to decide what to do with it.

2026-02-25 22:10:06 GMT

I just realized something about white folx and their attachment to the word “ally.”
For many, “ally” is shorthand for “not racist.”
It’s how whiteness signals its values, how you prove to yourself and others that you’re a “good” white person. The problem is that this framing strips away the very foundation of whiteness, racism itself, allowing you to position yourself as hero or victim, but never the villain.

As I think about how to move toward a supremacy-, coercion-, discrimination-, and exploitation-free future, I keep returning to a question that feels more urgent with each passing year: how do I age with dignity in a system designed to extract until there’s nothing left?
I’m aging. We all are. And recently I’ve been thinking deeply about the safety net I’ll have to build for myself.

The most painful lesson I learned, and have yet to fully recover from, after losing the community I spent years cultivating when Twitter was sold, it’s this: the “revolution” and change so many of you say you want will never be built in public, on platforms owned by people who not only do not share your values but who see them as threats.
At any moment, the communities, businesses, networks, and even friendships you’ve built there can be taken from you because they were never truly yours.

I’m stepping out of my winter hibernation again to share something that’s been sitting with me.
Today, and not for the first time, I’ve felt off.
Not sad. Not depressed. Not hopeless.
Just…flat. Colorless. Disconnected. Joyless in a way that doesn’t fit my usual patterns.

I woke up this morning with two things looping in my mind.
The lyrics to Michael Jackson’s “Will You Be There”
and the phrase, “I am that I am.”
They arrived alongside something I’ve said for years and wish I didn’t know to be true: nothing meaningfully changes until white folx lose what they’ve always assumed was guaranteed.

2025-12-31 13:57:19 GMT

On this final day of 2025, I’m stepping briefly out of my self-imposed hibernation to share a few thoughts about the future of Life Beyond the Supremacy Myth.
I began this year holding onto two fragile hopes: that the harm many of us were bracing for wouldn’t be as chaotic or devastating as those in power seemed eager to inflict, and that I would find my way out of the fog I’ve been in since publishing Profit Without Oppression in 2023,
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/814/487/339/837/777/original/2ba91d1047e7b975.png

2025-12-12 17:10:38 GMT

I can’t believe that my professional year has come to an end.
In just a few short hours, I’ll be logging out of all social media, email, and even the PWO Community and I won’t return until February 1, 2026.
For years, I’ve been intentionally reshaping my life to more closely follow the seasons. And like most living things in the northern hemisphere, it’s time for me to enter my hibernation season. This is the period I set aside every year to rest, recover,
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/707/678/042/455/141/original/459d9d820f554ac7.png

2025-12-12 15:00:00 GMT

When I talk about Profit Without Oppression, I’m not talking about tearing down every economic idea we’ve inherited. I’m talking about telling the truth about how those ideas have been practiced and the harm those practices continue to produce.
Because the truth is: Capitalism, in theory, is simple.
It’s the idea that someone can sell something of value in exchange for something else valued, grow food, raise animals, build housing, make clothing,

2025-12-11 20:27:28 GMT

I facilitated my final PWO Community event for the year this past Saturday, and as I prepare for my yearly “hibernation,” something’s been off. I’ve been trying to name the feeling, to place the source of this restlessness.
This year is ending with far more clarity than it began, but there’s still this nagging, unsettled hum underneath everything. And then it hit me:
The world is on fire.

2025-12-09 13:25:56 GMT

I’ve spent years watching the consequences of white men guessing, and sometimes outright making shit up, while holding immense power over our economy and society.
Take my time at the Chicago Stock Exchange. I witnessed decisions that determined billions of dollars in value based on theories and assumptions that were often incomplete, inaccurate, or self-serving.

2025-12-09 13:03:49 GMT

A recent article in The Washington Post, Trump's Attack On DEI May Hurt College Men, Particularly White Men, highlights a paradox: Trump’s attacks on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs are framed as protecting white men, but they’re actually setting them up to fail.
DEI initiatives aren’t about exclusion, they’re about creating structures of support that allow all students to succeed. And many of those who benefit most from these programs are men, particularly white men.

2025-12-07 18:44:57 GMT

After I shared my recent reflection on being labeled “intimidating,” a member of the PWO Community offered this response. He affirmed something I already knew, that for many white men, it’s the first time they’ve encountered a Black woman who says “no” without softening it, explaining it, or reshaping herself to protect their comfort.
But what struck him even more was the amount of grace he experiences inside the PWO Community.
And here’s why that matters:
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/679/689/051/836/940/original/e75e667367e1a255.jpg

2025-12-07 13:30:17 GMT

At yesterday’s Beyond the Supremacy Myth event, one of the cohort members made a comment during his pitch that I’ve heard more times than I can count:
“Kim’s not as intimidating in person as she appears online.”
I’ve been thinking about that because it’s never just about me.
When white men describe me as “intimidating,” “aggressive,” or “too much,” what they’re actually bumping up against is this:

2025-12-06 20:27:21 GMT

I just held my first live Beyond the Supremacy Myth event and all I can say is…WOW.
For years, I’ve been championing a world that is supremacy-, coercion-, discrimination-, and exploitation-FREE. I’ve been naming the harm, challenging the conditioning, and pushing white men in particular to confront the Myth of White Supremacy and choose something better for themselves and the communities they claim to care about.
And today?
Today felt like home.

When Time published the headline:
“Pantone Chooses White as its Color of the Year for the First Time Ever. See It Here,”
a white woman immediately sent it to me with the caption:
“Of course it is.”
That reaction wasn’t sarcasm.
It was recognition.
Recognition that in this global political climate, even something as seemingly benign as a color announcement can’t be separated from the systems, institutions, and policies shaped by the myth of white supremacy.

It has been my habit since exiting Twitter to no longer share anything personal publicly but this conversation that folx are having regarding children who go “no contact” has been triggering.
I haven’t spoken to my mom since August 1, 2023 because maintaining that relationship was a burden that I could no longer bear and I grieve that loss everyday. I miss the relationship I wish we could’ve had.

Over the 14 weeks of Facilitated Conversations with Kim Crayton – Mediocre, I watched white men begin to tell the truth about their lived experiences in ways they had never been asked, or allowed, to do before.
One of those participants offered this reflection on what this work made possible. It’s one of the clearest articulations of what community-based interrogation looks like when white men finally move beyond defensiveness and into honesty, courage, and accountability.

I was watching a YouTube video of an ex-Mormon reviewing South Park’s Scientology episode, and she said something that immediately brought me back to what I witnessed during Facilitated Conversations with Kim Crayton – Mediocre and what I’ve been thinking about as I prepare for Saturday’s Life Beyond The Supremacy Myth event.
She was breaking down how high-control groups make surrendering your agency feel “easy.”
They remove the burden of decision-making.

You can be whole. You can be free.
You can build lives and systems that don’t rely on supremacy, coercion, discrimination, or exploitation.

Scott Galloway’s new book, Notes on Being a Man, leans on the same familiar framework: provider, protector, procreator. On the surface, it reads like advice for men, but dig deeper, and it’s far more insidious. This isn’t guidance. It’s a reinforcement of the myth of white male supremacy, repackaged as modern masculinity, and it’s actively harmful.
Why harmful?

If you’ve read White Women, Get Ready, you already understand one of Amanda K. Gross’s core truths:
Whiteness, particularly white womanhood, relies on the fantasy of endless redemption.
It’s baked into Post-Traumatic Mistress Syndrome:
the deep, unexamined belief that white women must always be seen as good, pure, innocent, misunderstood, or redeemable, no matter the harm inflicted.
And this belief doesn’t live in isolation.
It is a feature, not a bug, of the myth of white supremacy.

2025-11-17 09:54:47 GMT

As we move into the final virtual session of the 14-week Facilitated Conversations with Kim Crayton – Mediocre cohort, one insight has hit me harder than almost anything else:
the near-total absence of Joy, Play, Pleasure, and Passion in the lives of white men…especially outside of competition, control, or sexual in nature.
Week after week, as these men shared honestly about their friendships, their partnerships, and even their closest relationships, what became clear was this:
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/564/376/609/470/057/original/abf2a5d699c5dc79.png

2025-11-16 16:09:44 GMT

MTG’s apology has to be understood through the lens of what’s actually happening:
the parasite of the myth of white supremacy is finally beginning to devour its host.
This clash, white supremacists turning against each other, was always inevitable.
A movement built on domination, fear, and grievance will eventually cannibalize itself, because it has no capacity for community, care, accountability, or collective responsibility. It can only destroy, even from within.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/560/223/492/663/502/original/c45522ec709caf9a.png

2025-11-16 10:14:22 GMT

I’ve spent the past few months watching white media, traditional and independent, twist itself into knots trying to “explain” the fracturing happening within the right-wing coalition. And the unfortunate truth is this: nothing has changed. Because under the myth of white supremacy, far too many of you still refuse to acknowledge that systems, institutions, and policies, not personalities, are what animate these movements.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/558/791/921/369/981/original/d2f4256d4b33e161.png

2025-11-15 20:44:05 GMT

One of the least acknowledged consequences of the myth of white supremacy is the deep cynicism it breeds in all of us.
And I don’t mean discernment.
I don’t mean healthy boundaries.
I don’t mean strategic awareness.
I mean cynicism:
A distrustful, suspicious posture toward human nature that assumes people are motivated only by self-interest. A worldview that treats sincerity as naïve and integrity as optional.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/555/615/307/274/029/original/8d77aafb990906ed.png

2025-11-15 12:42:06 GMT

There’s a truth I need you to sit with:
White male loneliness isn’t a crisis because it’s new.
It’s a crisis because it’s finally being named.
For generations, white men have been conditioned by the myth of white male supremacy to disconnect from their own humanity. Your socialization taught you that intimacy is weakness, that honesty is dangerous, and that community is something other people need…not you.
And now we’re watching men and boys crumble under the weight of that lie.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/553/688/929/427/039/original/d88b5aa2acb8abfd.png

2025-11-14 12:10:16 GMT

One thing that I suspected, from working with my white male business advising clients, and that has now been confirmed in the Facilitated Conversations with Kim Crayton – Mediocre sessions is this truth: white male loneliness is not new.
What is new is that today’s white men and boys finally have platforms to talk about it, and there are more than enough people waiting to exploit those feelings for profit, power, and the preservation of patriarchy.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/547/909/900/949/516/original/6db5b5a878e2206f.png

2025-11-13 21:45:30 GMT

So much of navigating professional spaces as a Black woman requires an ongoing conversation with yourself. A constant reminder that you know what you know, that you deserve what you ask for, and that your presence in spaces designed against you matters.
What most people will never understand is the sheer amount of energy it takes to hold that truth.
To fight back, day after day, against the indoctrination that says you must:
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/544/528/701/898/043/original/f96bdc5ca89880ed.png

2025-11-12 22:18:35 GMT

There’s a moment in nearly every conversation about equity when the myth shows up.
You know the one.
The myth of “hard work,” “personal responsibility,” and “deservingness.”
The myth that says if someone is hungry, it’s their fault.
That myth has a name: the Myth of White Supremacy.
It’s the lie that some lives are worth more, that some people have earned comfort while others deserve to struggle.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/538/988/820/057/417/original/31ce86fede45a0d3.png

2025-11-12 10:54:08 GMT

I want to talk about something that came up during one of the Facilitated Conversations with Kim Crayton — Mediocre sessions.
It’s a conversation I haven’t seen others have publicly because it’s risky.
It requires care, compassion, and precision.
And even then, someone may be harmed.
But this is what the work of liberation looks like. Thinking deeply, moving differently, and engaging authentically, even when it’s uncomfortable or unclear.

2025-11-11 14:10:09 GMT

I just saw a YouTube video titled “How White Supremacy Hijacked Christianity.”
And without even watching it, I already disagree.
White supremacy didn’t hijack Christianity.
Christianity, as practiced in the United States, is white supremacy.
From its inception on this land, Christian doctrine has served as the moral scaffolding for genocide, enslavement, colonization, and systemic control. It didn’t just accompany those atrocities…it justified them.
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/531/423/016/377/616/original/17001827e42c246a.png

2025-11-10 22:33:27 GMT

One thing that became clear to me yesterday is that choosing to live by the principles of a supremacy-, coercion-, discrimination-, and exploitation-free worldview comes with a cost that too few people talk about honestly.
You will lose people.
Not because they’re “bad,” but because they cannot or will not make the same choice.

2025-11-09 23:12:57 GMT

Today reminded me that I still have work to do.
I attended a professional/friend event and if you know me, you know how rare that is. Rare enough that when I show up, people are genuinely surprised.
The conversation started off light, low-stakes, easy to maintain. But as often happens, it took a turn. One of those sharp lefts where suddenly you realize you’re no longer having a conversation and it feels like you’re defending your right to exist.

Your isolation is not accidental. It’s intentional.
A client of mine recently attended two international tech conferences and reached out to share his experience.
The first, he said, was “status quo white dudes and a handful of women.” The second, Mozilla Festival, felt completely different:
“Good vibes... the diversity and efforts to promote diversity are HIGH. It feels really different. It feels... good.”
https://cdn.masto.host/daircommunitysocial/media_attachments/files/115/513/762/614/660/676/original/3240f85b2104168b.png

2025-11-06 19:54:19 GMT

Two days after the U.S. election, the predictable noise has started.
I’m hearing the chatter that success on California’s Prop 50 means Gavin Newsom is now the obvious choice to become president. And once again, we see the binary worldview that most white folx operate from: the idea that political outcomes are simple equations.
A + B = C.

I know that a lot of folx in the U.S. woke up this morning with a bit of the weight we’ve been carrying for a year lifted.
A year ago today, my life quite literally fell apart.
This is no exaggeration because for three days, I could not walk.
My body simply stopped.

Look around, the crisis of disconnection among men isn’t new...it’s inherited.
A culture built on control leaves no room for care.
Life Beyond the Supremacy Myth is a call to rebuild community where integrity, joy, and courage take the place of domination.
It's an invitation to learn how to show up differently.

During my time with the participants of Facilitated Conversations with Kim Crayton – Mediocre, a few things have become clear.
It’s not just about how you uphold the myth of white supremacy. It’s about how deeply that myth has hollowed you out from the inside.
Here’s what I now know:

Andrew Cuomo, who on paper is a Democrat and served as Governor of New York from 2011 to 2021, was just endorsed by Donald Trump.
Pause for a moment and let that sink in.
This is not an isolated incident.
It is a textbook example of why white men cannot be trusted to do anything, without a consistent, demonstrated antiracist practice, but protect and promote the myth of white supremacy when confronted with accountability or consequences.

I recently came across the term “the politics of care” while watching the YouTube video From Prince to Commoner: What Andrew’s Downfall Tells Us About Power. The concept is explored beautifully in an academic article by Berenice Malka Fisher and Maurice Hamington, which asks:
“What would be required for care to be an ethic and political practice that orients people to a new way of living, relating, and governing?”
Their answer is as radical as it is necessary:

Between George Clooney saying it was a mistake to push Biden out and the chatter about Jon Stewart possibly entering politics, I can’t help but see, once again, the myth of white male supremacy at work in real time.
It’s the same story, over and over again.
The same pattern of centering mediocre, unremarkable white men as the voices we should listen to, the leaders we should follow, the thinkers we should trust.

As a certified special needs educator, I knew that my students’ challenges, academic or social, never devalued their humanity. Providing them with specialized services, attention, and care wasn’t about lowering expectations; it was about building a learning environment where patience, practice, and compassion made mastery possible.
Success didn’t look the same for every student, but that didn’t make any of them less capable or less valuable.

The numbers are clear and they tell a story of harm, relief, and the systems, institutions, and policies that make both possible.
After Ryan Walters, a self-described Christian nationalist and anti-LGBTQ+ crusader, resigned as Oklahoma’s superintendent of public instruction, calls from LGBTQ+ youth in the state to the national crisis hotline dropped by 36%.
Let that sink in.

When white men lose even a sliver of control, the system reacts.
It labels women and non-white leaders as “unqualified,” “unfit,” or “too emotional,” while rewarding the very mediocrity that keeps the myth of white male supremacy intact.
So no, I don’t talk about what’s fair.
Because the moment you use that word, you’ve already agreed to play by rules designed to ensure your loss.

2025-10-31 14:06:20 GMT

“Fair” only extends to the most vulnerable when it serves the interests of those who already benefit.
In Mediocre, Ijeoma Oluo shares that:
“A study by the University of Missouri found that, even though women make up only 5 percent of Fortune 500 CEOs, activist investors are more likely to target companies helmed by women with the intent of directing their management decisions, even when controlling for company performance.”
This isn’t coincidence…it’s the blueprint.

2025-10-31 14:06:08 GMT

I never use the word “fair” when I’m talking about or challenging systems, institutions, and policies rooted in the myth of white male supremacy.
Because “fairness” isn’t an objective concept.
It’s a weapon.
One that’s been sharpened and refined over centuries to maintain control while pretending to offer balance.
“Fair” only works when those already in power get to define it.
“Fair” only applies when it reinforces the comfort and dominance of those who built the system.

Once again, we’re watching the myth of white male supremacy play out in real time but this time through “innovation” that’s neither new nor transformative.
According to The Verge,
“Grokipedia abruptly veers into right-wing talking points, factual inaccuracies, critiques of mainstream media, and unfounded conspiracy theories. At times, Grokipedia is overtly racist and transphobic.”

“My life mission has been [to] work on a piece of technology that would improve the quality of life of every human on the planet and hasten the coming of Christ’s return.”
Let’s be clear: this isn’t innovation.
It’s indoctrination, powered by delusion and funded by systems, institutions, and policies built to center white men’s desires, fears, and interpretations of “good.”
When the myth of white supremacy and patriarchy merge with technological power, we don’t get progress…we get control.

2025-10-29 12:03:46 GMT

White men in tech have a lot of repair work to do.
For decades, too many of you have sat comfortably in rooms built on exclusion, quietly benefiting while you lionized other mediocre, unremarkable white men as “visionaries.”
You watched as they coded harm, unchecked and unchallenged, because it didn’t seem to harm you.
Now we’ve arrived here, at the inevitable outcome of that silence and complicity.
Where beliefs and statements like this are not fringe, but normalized:

When I read @nprofile…cjng's “The Majority AI View”, what struck me most wasn’t just his critique of the current state of AI, it was how clearly it exposes the same predictable pattern that Ijeoma Oluo lays out in Mediocre, and that I continue to explore through Life Beyond the Supremacy Myth.
Once again, we see the myth of white male supremacy at work. Where the loudest, most harmful voices are mistaken for the most “visionary,”

Folx often assume that because of the content I share, I don’t have any white friends.
That’s untrue.
In fact, the white friends I do have are some of my closest relationships. Not because they’re “different” from other white people, but because they understand a few fundamental truths and engage with me accordingly.
Here’s what that looks like:

Common annoyances, inconveniences, and disappointments shouldn’t unravel you but for so many white folx, they do.
That flash of rage when plans change.

That disbelief when a door doesn’t open just because you knocked.
That’s not random emotion…that’s conditioning.
It’s the myth of white supremacy at work.

You can’t just be concerned about you and yours, who’s in your boat, you also have to consider those who are being pulled under by the wake you leave behind.

When white men can wage war, literally and figuratively, and still be seen as benevolent leaders.

This may be uncomfortable to hear, but it’s essential to say clearly…there is no such thing as a “non-racist” white person.
Whiteness itself is not just a neutral identity.
It’s a social construct built historically in opposition to Blackness.
The very idea of being “white” was created to define superiority and to justify the exclusion, exploitation, and oppression of those deemed “non-white.”
That means whiteness, by design, is entangled with racism.

For years, men like DHH in tech have been lauded as “progressive” or “forward-thinking” because they spoke the language of diversity. But look closer, and what they were really demanding was assimilation. Non-white men and queer people were “welcomed” as long as they adopted the existing norms of whiteness. The systems, institutions, and policies didn’t expand to reflect new perspectives.

James Baldwin once said:
“I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.”
That pain is the truth at the center of whiteness.
Whiteness has not made life easier for white folx only lonelier, more fearful, and more joyless.
Time and again, you are confronted with the reality that your childhoods were not filled with love, safety, or joy, but with fear, control, and anger.

It’s only a failure because you’ve never had to imagine what comes next. You’ve never had to spend time, energy, or resources anticipating the next violent act a government could sanction because historically, that violence wasn’t aimed at you.

You’ve been shaped by systems, institutions, and policies designed for your benefit and built on the exclusion of others.
That doesn’t make you uniquely evil; it makes you complicit and, unfortunately, unprepared.
Unprepared to see what’s missing.
Unprepared to notice what harm looks like.
Unprepared to understand what equity requires.

In White Women, Get Ready, Amanda K. Gross uses a bell hooks quote to describe the price men must pay to access the benefits of patriarchy:
“The first act of violence that patriarchy demands of males is not violence toward women. Instead patriarchy demands of all males that they engage in acts of psychic self-mutilation, that they kill off the emotional parts of themselves.

In response to one of Facilitated Conversations prompts regarding the book Mediocre, a participant named what many of us know but rarely put into such clear terms: the fragility of white male identity.
The list they shared as “threats” to white male masculinity included:
→ Reliance on others for basic needs
→ Feminine-coded behaviors or traits (that would portray men as “soft”)
→ Imposition or restriction of independence
→ Disobedience to authority
→ Cooperation or communal ways of living

From White Women, Get Ready by Amanda K. Gross:
“What did your people have to give up in order to assimilate into whiteness?”
This isn’t just a historical curiosity, it’s a question about your own inheritance.
What traditions, languages, ways of being, and connections were traded away for the promise of safety, status, and “belonging” in a system built on exclusion?

One of the most radical truths we explore in the Profit Without Oppression Community is that no one escapes white supremacy unharmed. Not even white people.
White supremacy isn’t just about what it takes from Black, Brown, and Indigenous people, it’s also about what it denies white people. And one of the deepest losses is the very thing human beings have depended on for survival for centuries: connections that matter and true communal support.

The news cycle may have moved on.
Your friends may have moved on.
Maybe even you’ve wanted to move on…
But white supremacy hasn’t gone anywhere and neither has the harm it causes.
That initial spark you felt in 2020?
The guilt, the grief, the urgency?
It wasn’t a phase. It was an invitation.
An invitation to build a lifelong practice.
To trade performative "allyship" for grounded accountability.

Somewhere along the way, many white people confused “safe” with “comfortable.”
But here’s the reality:
Your comfort doesn’t make anyone else safe.
In fact, the systems, institutions, and policies designed to preserve white comfort, policing, education, healthcare, the workplace, have always come at the expense of others’ well-being.

White supremacy doesn’t just harm the people it excludes.
It also poisons the people it privileges.
It teaches white people to confuse control with connection.
It teaches disassociation as a survival skill.
It trains you to see vulnerability as weakness, and to mistake dominance for leadership.
And for those who benefit from it, it promises safety while delivering isolation.

Let’s be honest, white supremacy isn’t upheld by white men alone.
It’s sustained by everyone who benefits from, aligns with, or remains silent in the face of its logic, especially those who gain proximity to whiteness, even if they’ll never fully be included.
* This is why white women must do their own internal work.
* This is why folx of color, in allegiance to the Model Minority Myth, can perpetuate harm in pursuit of “success.”
* This is why "diversity" isn’t the same as equity or justice.

From Facebook getting us to assign “friendship” to casual acquaintances, to LinkedIn encouraging us to call a stack of business cards “a network,” social media has completely reshaped how we define and maintain relationships. And not for the better.
We were sold the idea that we could build meaningful community in spaces driven by data extraction and algorithmic manipulation. But the reality? These platforms have diluted the meaning of connection.

But here’s the truth: If you can "check out" when it gets hard, you’re not the one being harmed by the system. You’re the one being protected by it and that protection has a cost...paid by those who don’t have the option to look away.

Let’s get real, white supremacy doesn’t care if you vote blue.
Or if you read White Fragility.
Or if you have Black friends.
Or if your heart hurts when you see injustice.
Because white supremacy isn’t about how you feel!
It’s about the patterns you uphold.
The comfort you protect.
The silence you maintain.
The harm you didn’t mean but STILL caused.

So we have to ask: Why do “good white folx” keep choosing whiteness over justice, even when it harms them?
Why does voting become about identity instead of liberation?
And how do we break the cycle?
This isn’t just a political problem, it’s a spiritual and social one. It’s about what your whiteness costs all of us.
If you’re tired of watching harm unfold in real time and want to be part of building something better, join us.

In 2024, a critical mass of white voters made choices that are now backfiring on them.
Not just on Black, Brown, queer, disabled, immigrant, trans, or poor people.
But on white communities themselves.
Healthcare.
Public education.
Worker protections.
Bodily autonomy.
Even clean air and water.
Gone or gutted because white supremacy demanded loyalty to whiteness over well-being.

How often have you heard it?
“This space isn’t political.”
“We’re just here to help people.”
“Let’s keep it neutral.”
Here’s the truth:
There is no such thing as a neutral space under white supremacy.
When people say “neutral,” what they usually mean is:
✅ Comfortable for white people
✅ Familiar to dominant culture
✅ Avoids discomfort, accountability, or truth-telling

But here’s the thing:
You can be tired and still be responsible.
You can be uncomfortable and still be accountable.
The real fatigue is the one carried by those who have to:
* Swallow professional violence, which many call "microaggressions," just to keep their jobs
* Raise their children in a world that doesn’t see them as innocent
* Watch injustice be debated as “both sides”
White fragility demands relief.
Antiracist practice demands resilience.
