@nprofile…mcmj the random people you meet on a trail are appreciators of nature, in touch with their inner peace and solitude, secure about their position in the world. when I'm out in the field taking photos, the randos are the nicest people to talk to. the club joiners are desperate to "network" and view their activities as a means to a material end. this does depend on the kind of club. community basketball or soccer for example is different.
