Yeah, this is one of my plants. They're a little bit fragile as seedlings, but they grow like weeds once established.
Most commercial growers "top" their plants so more energy goes into the leaves. They'll also spray chemicals on them to keep them from "suckering" or sending out additional flower heads. I usually just let them flower so I can collect seed for next year.
The flowers on this cultivar aren't as pretty as the ones I've grown on Virginia and Burley types in previous years. I think I'm going to grow one or both of them next year. There are also ornamental varieties that are just grown for their flowers.

Judaism and Islam yes, but Christianity proscribes circumcision. Saint Paul said that the people who promote religious circumcision should cut their dicks off entirely.
"Christian" circumcision is largely an American phenomenon that started as a medical thing and continues through cultural inertia. Even most dispensationalists don't do it for religious reasons, though weird judaizing cults (Hebrew Roots) do exist.

A lot of the "gray market" (state legal, federally illegal) marijuana comes from farms in the U.S. that are run or controlled by the Chinese Triads. Pretty sure they're in Oklahoma as well.

Yes, and Missouri's geographic and cultural border status is also why it had its own civil war during the American Civil War.

In my experience, Midwestern folk tend to be very long-suffering and very understated.

The thing is, I don't consider myself a literary snob. I've read and enjoyed lots of trashy literature and escapist fiction, but as you said, the quality of the writing has declined dramatically. Even books written in the 1990s and early aughts are significantly better than books written within the last ten years. I don't think this is just nostalgia on my part. ("The best music was popular when I was 14 and the most emotionally vulnerable to it, and it has sucked ever since!")
There's also been a noticeable shift towards the vulgar, both in terms of the language used and the subject matter contained. A bad book bothers me more now than it used to because my reading time now has to compete with other obligations. I find myself reading nonfiction almost exclusively anymore.

I generally avoid pop-literature because most of it is garbage, though we all have guilty pleasures. That said, I recently had several coworkers independently recommend the same book to me. Their praise was effusive and consistent.
So, out of curiosity, I acquire a copy and flip to page one.

The cool thing is that Matty programmed NCD to automatically censor sensitive information, like your Social Security number. It just replaces the numbers with asterisks.

I'm inclined to agree, though I try to keep an open mind without solid evidence. I've said it before elsewhere, but cynical opportunism can be difficult to distinguish from conspiracy.

Bruce Edwards Ivins was named as the suspect and was found "dead by suicide" several days later. Unclear whether he was acting on his own initiative or if he was the fall guy for a larger, sanctioned operation.

Jury duty casts a random net that catches a wide cross-section of the population. After that, prospective jurors either self-eliminate or are weeded out. Often an attorney can excuse/strike a certain number of potential jurors without even giving a reason. As a general rule, attorneys select for people they think will be easy to manipulate.
