@nprofile…ceuk So, they're finally getting serious in taking down those sites and apps?
Some industries, like Kdrama, will not like it. 😅 They know how much those illegal sites are actually boosting the popularity of their talents and productions, and the Hallyu industry overall. Sure, they're losing a lot, but the worldwide popularity of the their entertainment industry reached this level because of illegal sites.
It was just like with Japanese anime. They are generally ignoring fansub groups since the late 90s because its helping the industry as a whole to reach global audiences. Japanese anime wouldn't be this big today if not for fansubbers.
So, who will benefit from their takedown? Only the US?
I am not defending these illegal distributions, but I'm not blind to how much it is helping the Asian entertainment industries to compete with the North American entertainment industry. Are they doing this now because Asian content is dominating North America?

If all goes well, #TimorLeste will officially join the #ASEAN as its 11th member.
For grassroots:
- 30 days visa-free entry across all 11 ASEAN members
-- you can reset it twice by crossing to another ASEAN member for at least 24 hours, so that's 90 days total
- more work opportunities for Timorians and the rest of ASEANs
- easy exchange student processing
- cultural exchanges
- ASEAN jokes and memes 😂

The #Philippines politics these days is like this:
1. National level: President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. versus Senator Imee Marcos
- Imee is the eldest of the siblings
- Bongbong is the youngest
- children of former President Ferdinand Marcos
2. On the City level: Former Senator and now Makati Mayor, Nancy Binay versus former Makati District 2 Congresswoman and former Makati Mayor Abby Binay
- Nancy is the eldest of the siblings
- Abby is second of three
- children of former Vice-President and former Makati Mayor Jejomar "Jojo" Binay

I miss the era when we didn't have to include any of the ff:
- "Comments are my own, not my employer's."
- "Reshare ≠ endorsement."
- "I only represent myself."
- "only me"
In our era, people understand simple things and don't create fiction like accusing one that they acted on behalf of their employer. In many sci-fi stories, the more "advanced" a society becomes, the less they understand simple things and the more they assume incorrectly.
Intergalactic societies rely on the primitive earthlings to solve something because they are no longer capable of thinking in simple terms and their brains automatically assume this and that as the logical path or solution. Earthlings can do it because they're still primitive.
That same idea applies to within Earthling society.
For example, in one country, they cried foul and forced a fictional TV series to be cancelled because they supposedly disrespected a national and historical icon despite the show explicitly and visibly stating, "This is fictional and a work of art." South-East Asians (who they looked down and treat less than them), were baffled because, it's **fiction**!
It's the same in the social media space. You have to state the obvious. In fact, even if you state the obvious, if they want to bring you down, they will.
Crazy times to live in! 😝

@nprofile…333f I beg to differ. Dismissing, what you call, "tinfoil hat" "alarmist" is why we have so many wars in our history. Acknowledging and identifying potential scenarios is knowing what to do next.
Governments hire think-tanks to do exactly that. If these things are simply "tinfoil hat" "alarmist", they wouldn't bother hiring think-tanks.
We, the ordinary citizens, are simply saying what they already analyze weeks and more likely months, ago. We're usually late and reactionary. For all we know, their actions today were based on the reports submitted by those think-tanks.
Right now, there are reports on-going reports that Saudi Arabia has placed their army on the highest alert. That Iran already blocked the Straits. Qatar and UAE are on high alert as well. And this is just in the Middle-East.
History all tells us that these escalations can easily turn into a wider conflict, and hopefully not, world war. Look at World War I, and in particular, World War II.
There were signs leading to WWII in Asia-Pacific but those were ignored and dismissed as "alarmist" "tinfoil hat". In some circles, articles, knowledgebase, it was even mentioned how there is a school-of-thought that the Manchurian Incident was the real start of WWII in Asia-Pacific. And even if it wasn't, it pushed the region towards WWII.
As we say in Filipino, "Ang hindi marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makararating sa paroroonan". History is filled with examples of these "alarmist" "tinfoil hat" which were dismissed and ignored.
Have we already forgotten the revelations of Snowden? Majority, if not all, of what he exposed were classified as "conspiracy theories", "alarmist", "tinfoil hat", for years. They were dismissed and ignored until Snowden came forward. We should've learned from that. 😉

Something you won't see discussed re: the #USA striking #Iran : spillovers.
What might happen next:
- the USA strikes North #Korea
- #China escalate the East China Sea & South China Sea issues
- China attack #Israel & #US allies to protect its interests in Iran
- The #AxisOfEvil activates
- China can also choose to escalate the war between #India and #Pakistan
- there is still the war between #Russia and #Ukraine
You won't see it discussed because #PacificAsia & the larger #AsiaPacific don't matter to most people saying their piece about the wars in the #MiddleEast .
Now that the USA joined the war against Iran, we are now dangerously close to #WorldWarIII #WorldWar3 #WWIII #WW3 , it all comes down to the next action of the freaking colonial mentality USA and superstitious China (a.k.a. Dragon Emperor myth).

If there is anything missing in all these Decentralised, Distributed, Federated, Open Network discussions it is this: Asians, Africans, Latin America, and half of Europe.
Almost all articles and mudslinging between the Fediverse, ATmosphere, Meta, Twitter / X, revolves around the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, and France. I have yet to see any analyst, journalist, and debaters, actually see these different networks, software, and platforms from a real global perspective.
- Bluesky is this and that (they're not even talking about the ATmosphere network, just Bluesky).
- Mastodon is this and that (they're not talking about the Fediverse network either, just Mastodon®).
- Everyone who are still using Twitter / X are this and that.
It's always from the lens of someone living in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, and France.
The true global users don't care. Asians are still using Twitter / X not because Asians are fascists, pro-Elon, Nazis, or whatever, Asians are still using it because what you think is an important factor to leave Twitter / X is virtually non-existent as a reason for Asians.
The same goes with the constant attacks and mudslinging between Fediverse and ATmosphere purists. Your reasons only matter to you. Most people from Asia and Africa don't understand your reasons.
If you seriously want for everyone to leave Twitter / X, you have to reframe your mindset and upgrade your marketing message.
If you want for people to leave Bluesky or Mastodon (seriously, it's ATmosphere or Fediverse), change the way you think and target the largest Social network market in terms of number of users and activeness.
For example, as long as fandoms are in Twitter / X, people will keep using it.
Fandoms are growing in Bluesky but not in "Mastodon". Meta understood this, so they did that for Threads, tap Instagram accounts.
Planning. Strategy. Marketing.

@nprofile…z7hk Ah, all Unicode text. If you're viewing from an Android device (Android 10+) there's a built-in font "Noto" by Google which covers more or less 80% of the entire Unicode characters.
The font for Baybayin, for the Tagalog variant is "Noto Tagalog".
For iOS, I'm not sure which font they're using and which version of iOS supports the 4 Baybayin variants included in Unicode.
For desktops, you can install the Noto family from the official site: https://notofonts.github.io
Or, just the Baybayin variants:
- Noto Tagalog
- Noto Tagbanwa
- Noto Buhid
- Noto Hanunoó
🙂
Yep, in government-approved curriculum and text books, it's called "Alibata", which is unfortunately incorrect. 😅 I'm not sure if they corrected the curriculum and text books after it gained attention of the media in 2016/17.
But, yeah, it's a good one to (re)-learn, especially since it's well-known abroad (with papers written, talks, and so on) and there are foreigners who can read and write it better than majority of us Filipinos. 😅😅
It's also interesting because it reshapes our way of thinking and processing writing scripts. So, it helps in also learning other writing scripts if one wants to pursue it. Baybayin is easiest to learn since there are fewer rules and characters, than compared to Hebrew, Korean, and Japanese.

Now I am curious, what's our #Filipino word for #Fediverse and #SocialWeb ?
So far, I these for potential Filipino translation of "Fediverse":
- bigkisberso (bigkis + uniberso)
- sansinukob = used in Filipino astronomy and literature to refer to the "universe" (I personally like this one)
- bukob (buklod + sukob) = just my invention
Other suggestions?
Since we're talking about the Filipino language (not Tagalog language), this means all Philippine languages are valid. We can combine them together, even use the 6th vowel /ë/.
But how about "Social Web"?
I was told that the Filipino for "Internet" is "daigbatan". I'm just not sure though since I can't find information on "batan" other than:
- Original name of Bataän was Batan, a Spanish word for "log" (🪵) which the province was named after by the Spaniards.
- The Ivatan people call themselves in the Ivatan language as "Batan". (Yes, Batanes = Isles of [the] Batan [people]. Batan + Isles (just my theory, but it makes logical sense 😝))
So, I'm not sure why "Internet" is "daigbatan".
My thought process is, "social web" could be:
- liponbatan = literally social network
- daiglipon = lit. world social; web social
Other suggestions?

The problem is not AI tech per se but rather the users, or students in this case.
Before the Internet became accessible here in the Philippines, I was already doing my projects and research by researching online and using computers.
Did I just copy and pasted? Of course not. I read it, re-worded it. I read it again and re-wrote it. Until I arrived at the final version that is truly mine, with citations too!
Because of the process that I followed, I know what in the world I've submitted, so when I was randomly questioned about my work, I was able to answer every single question. Not only that, I was able to answer questions not covered in my submitted work. How? Because I read, re-worded, read, re-wrote, read, reviewed.
Later, it became more accessible and I had schoolmates who did exactly the same as what AI kids are doing today, copy-paste. Teachers and professors hated it, and they actually got very good in detecting it and immediately give a failing grade.
Not once did I get a failing grade. There were even a few instances a few classmates of mine complained that my submitted work came from the Internet too. But our teacher explained the differences between my submission and theirs.
Mind you, this was from 1997 and so. No AI. No wikipedia. No google. Back then, you can get very relevant results because there were fewer useless sites and search engines were actually search engines, not an algorithm game or ads.
In the early 2000s, I started tutoring. By this time, Internet is very accessible. Students I've tutored always wanted for their tutor to do their projects for them. They thought they can trick me. 🤪 I told them I will only explain things and they still should do it. I challenged them that I'll refund their money if their teacher and/or professor fail them.
Not one failed. They even returned to thank me because they got one of the highest grades because they were able to answer the questions thrown at them.
If I, as their tutor, acted like an AI and did things for them, they'll surely would've failed.
So, you see, the issues with AI today as far as students and education are concerned, is actually nothing new. In our time, the early world wide web can be an AI if you copy-paste it. The tutors can be an AI if they did everything for their students.
The tool is not the problem. It is the users, the students.
Someone needs to level with these students so they can understand, in their own lingo and terms, that the way they're using tools is setting them up in a future where they'll have a hard time surviving. Even for many of us who are talented and skilled are having a hard time, what more them?
The students I tutored? Our age gap was minimal, so we were able to connect. The students today, they need someone to guide them, and it isn't us that is a generation or two older than them. Have you ever listened to someone a generation or two onder than you when you were a teenager?

We're now in Trakt migration 2.0.
The move by Trakt that triggered Trakt Migrtation 1.0 was understandable, they have to make money.
But in this latest move, messing with grandfathered accounts, no, not understandable.
You just don't mess with grandfathered accounts ever in any service. That's your way of saying, "Thank you for always being with us since the beginning".
My mobile network plan is a grandfathered account, and the network have been trying to get us to "upgrade" to a "better" plan. Ad that's to mention one such.
Even in gaming, grandfathered accounts are not touched ever. If they cancel, that's the only time things change. Why? Simple, the current contract/subscription ended. So, the next time the user subscribe, it will be under the current scheme.
In addition, owners of grandfathered accounts will do everything to keep it. They'll borrow money if it comes to that. You have grandfathered accounts that are paying you but the owners are rarely using it. Compare that to the owners cancelling their grandfathered accounts because it no longer has any value for them.
Just like right now. Many are cancelling because.
Time to move to #NeoDB or #SIMKL
Pick NeoDB if you want to be in the #Fediverse. Or, pick SIMKL if you want free "Pro" just by logging-in at least 20 days.
Both NeoDB and SIMKL combines various databases into one easy to use interface.

I just set up an easy to remember link for my #NeoDB shelf/catalogue/library account:
https://loomenji.youronly.one ( @nprofile…2d0m )
😁
It's in addition to the following:
* fediverse.youronly.one - @nprofile…gd7f
* atmosphere.youronly.one - @nprofile…lz2q
* gallery.youronly.one - @nprofile…lytl
* wiki.youronly.one - youronlyone.tiddlyhost.com
* threads.youronly.one - @nprofile…aymu
If you have a personal domain name, use it for redirection (301 or 302). Easy to remember.
Another advantage, if you ever decide to move instances or change your accounts, you don't have to reprint business cards and update links everywhere, just change your redirect target setting. (It won't move your content of course.)
And if you're bridging to the #ATmosphere network, you can use your own domain as your handle for your #Fediverse network accounts (if supported by your bridging platform)!
Make use of your domain name! Redirect!

@nprofile…xmxr I guess it depends on the branch. It's weird because the COMELEC branch here in Makati (used to be in the Makati Central Fire Department building) sometime early 00s, it was part of the process. The only thing that was not included was the lamination. 😅 According to them, lamination wasn't part of the budget. 🤷🏽
LOL. They need to be consistent! It's a useful government ID too! Recognized for international online verification as well, not like UMID and the National ID, I've encountered services that won't accept those.

Why is it that Filipinos don't have a Voter's ID when it's part of registration? They forgot to pick it up or lost it?

@nprofile…qdar In a ray, it's similar to the parallel world / diverging timelines. The other "me" is still me but with different experiences and in a reality with a different history.
Only, in this teleportation/transfer of consciousness, it happened in the same reality.
So, both are still "you you".
Did I understand it correctly?
The way you explained it kind of made that connection. I openly accept there's another version me out there in the multiverse that diverged from some point in time. We simply both exist.

I found this cool #Fediverse software called #NeoDB via @nprofile…asy0 's awesome FediDB website.
https://fedidb.com/software/neodb?version=latest&registration=open
It's a tracking / shelf platform for #TV / #drama, #movies / #films, #books, and #games
Automated import from #Goodreads work well. Just provide the required URL and voila. If it doesn't appear immediately, it is probably waiting for server workers or waiting for the server load to lower or Goodreads request limit, just be patient, only submit the same URL once! If in doubt, contact the admins instead of resubmitting.
Unfortunately, the software doesn't support import (automated, API, or manual) from Trakt, SIMKL, MyAnimeList, and other popular tracking/shelf services for TV/drama and movies/films. There is one, Douban or something, which I think is popular in the Chinese and Japanese speaking markets.
Anyway, what if the item you want to add doesn't exist in the database yet?
Worry not! There are three ways NeoDB software populates its database.
* Method 1: You can add the details yourself
* Method 2: Search the other NeoDB instances for existing similar items
* Method 3: Search for the item from TMDB, IMDB, IGDB, Steam, Goodreads, and other supported sites (no TVDB), and paste the URL to NeoDB's search box and it will import it to your instance
Method 2 is already sweet. That is the entire idea of the #SocialWeb. But Method 3 is even sweeter!
Methods 2 and 3 are the best because it's a win-win for everyone. Regular users can forget about manually re-entering new data. Seriously, who wants to manually duplicate data from one DB to another? I certainly don't! I contribute to #TMDB but I'm definitely not repeating the same effort in #TVDB.
Secondly, there's no need for instances to duplicate large databases just to ensure their site is useful for any user. Items are added as local users interact with items. It keept the db small instead of having thousands of items no one has interacted to yet (or probably not).
Check my accounts:
* Flagship server: @nprofile…cgxn
* Instance: @nprofile…2d0m
Hmm… I haven't checked but I think music is not supported (yet?). NeoDB can use the largest #OpenDB for music: #Musicbrainz

I'll never trust teleportation tech and transfer of consciousness to another body. There is always the question of, "is it still you you?"
Think of it this way, what if it was successful but you are also still there in your original location? Or, the consciousnesses that was supposedly transferred is also still existing in the original body?
The most logical conclusion is that the "you you" is the one in the original location or body. The person that showed up in the target location or the consciousness in the new body is not "you you".
In other words, you never really teleported or transferred consciousness!
I'd rather trust:
1. Folding space or quantum travel
2. Body regeneration or chromosome reprogramming
Because then, I know that it's still "me me".
This problem was perfectly demonstrated in the film #ThePrestige. When the "teleportation" machine did its thing, it did transfer the person in the other machine but there's a copy on the original machine.
Or, the original was left in the original machine and the one that appeared in the second machine was the copy.
So, who's "you you" in «The Prestige»? Who was original?
We will never know. Only the person who was duplicated can answer that question but of course both will answer "I'm the original!" Not because they don't want to die, rather, that's what their brain is telling them.

@nprofile…rw49 I did not bring China, you completely misunderstood.
As I've said, if the situation was not between Pakistan and India, rather between China and India, the people accusing India online are they still going to accuse India then?
And how can this "Filipino foreign policy concerns" you're concerned about colour _my_ perception? What? Pro-USA and anti-PRC? Or, are you saying I'm pro-India?
1. When India tried to join the coalition against China's encroachment in South China Sea, I was strongly against it. It will only drag us with the India-China issue, and by having India in our region, it will only further escalate the issue with China (which the USA is already escalatiing).
2. I'm anti-communist-China (not the Chinese people, I'm Chinese myself, you can't be anti-self).
3. I'm anti-USA (again, the government, not the people), not because of Trump, but because of all the sins and lies the US government(s) committed against us since the colonial era.
So, what "Filipino foreign policy concerns" is colouring my perception?
Going back.
Will those people calling out India as the one in the wrong in the current Pakistan-India issue do the same if this exact situation was between China-India?
The problem with today's online activism is many are swayed by the loudest narrative without actually gathering all the information first. And as the current Pakistan-India started, information available came from news sources, and yet we see "online handles" actively promoting that India is the one at fault.
But again, are these "online handles" making a loud noise truly honest? Or, are they simply going with the flow? Because again, if this exact situation was between China and India, how would these very same online activists react? Pro-China? Pro-India? How can one trust these accounts if they can't even answer that. If they truly are objective, if they truly have information no one else knows, not even the press, then surely it is easy to answer that question.
Lastly, please, let's not start claiming that South Asia geopolitics is more this and that. No region in the world is more than another when it comes to geopolitics. If we're going to play that game, ASEAN is very diverse.
Confusing? CJK is complicated and confusing. China-Vietnam stems all the way back before the colonial era. The entire Pacific Asian region is deeply rooted in geopolitics since before the colonial era, and those deep issues are still affecting es to this day. Even World War 2 is very confusing for many because there were so many moving pieces. Japan was painted by the Allies as "evil" but once information started to come to light on how things actually unfolded, Japan was not "evil" at all, it was a fabrication of the Allies (most especially the US).
And let's not forget the sins the British Empire and other European nations committed against China. Who actually supplied opium to the Chinese, and how Hong Kong fell to British control.
There are also internal and cross-border issues. The Khmers. The Thais. Singaporeans. Indonesians. The Khmer-Thai issues. The Thai-Viet issues. There's also the Sabah issue between Malaysia and the Philippines (actually it includes Indonesia too but few are aware of that). The "comfort women", that to this day can make or break deals and agreements.
I can go on and on.
Should I say that the Pacific Asian region is more complex, complicated, confusing, diverse, than the South Asian region, or any other region? Of course, NO. Each region is unique. The geopolitical issues in each region developed differently from each other.
No region's geopolitics is "more" than any other. It only appears that way because a person is not aware of the complexity of a region's geopolitics and how far back in time it actually started.
I refuse to play that game.

If you think about it, #scams are a form of business. They don't just start a scam. They study the population. They conduct research and tests. They train people. The hold meetingtos to improve their processes and craft. They probably have documentations too!
Just like any other businesses.
For example. If you want to start scamming Filipinos in the Philippines, you don't want to start a housing scam or a home renovation scam. You also don't want to start a credit card, debit card, bank account, scam/phishing. Not going to work. Oh sure, maybe you'll be able to scam a hundred or so, and that's a very generous figure. Like any other business, you don't start a scamming business that won't produce good and sustainable results.
Yet, home renovation scams are popular in Japan. Card and bank account phishing scams are common in South Korea.
Late road tolls payment is a thing in the US of A.
Are you familiar with "genius and pschopathy are two sides of the same coin"? Yeah, "businesses and scams are two sides of the same coin" too. 😝
And like with some genius and psychopathy folks where they successfully use both sides of the coin, there are also folks who are experts in running a legitimate scamming business, or legitimate businesses scamming people.
They're not easy to spot. They probably hold a Masters Degree in Scamming, I mean, Masters Degree in Business Administration.

@nprofile…rw49 Yes, definitely, especially since it's a different region than ours. But, yeah, it was only a, you could say, "summary", of how I understood it so far, not an "assessment" per se.
Hmm… ahh! It's subjective not objective.
And most especially with №4, I can't help but wonder, what if the murder of foreign tourists on India's side of the border weri traced to have come from China and the incident happened on the China-India border?
After a few weeks, whatever negootiation happened behind-the-scenes, it came down to India attacking the terrorist sites in China's side of the border, and China retaliated. Would the №4 still call India the aggressor? Or, side with them because it's China and everything China is supposedly "evil"?

2025-05-07 07:23:17 GMT

- reply

@nprofile…rw49 And the bottomline is, there isn't enough information, so why is it things reached №4 already? From credible and unbias news sources, they are reporting both sides.
And yes, of course Pakistan is not responsible. Terrorist groups are the enemies of the State their hideouts are located. We don't know if India tried to work with Pakistan, through official and back channels. We don't know if India warned them that they will strike what they believed to be the location of those terrorists, and if those intel were also provided by Pakistan.
It could very well be that Pakistan tried to resolve it but failed, and India had enough of the delays. Maybe India requested to have their special forces take out those terrorists, but understandably Pakistan refused.
In the end, India chose an excessive action. To hit the known location of the terrorists. And Pakistan considered it an act of war (obviously). But what's №4 doing? Do they know something the press is not reporting hence the one-sided judgement?

The Vatican Conclave has started. Are most Cardinals going to choose the Filipino Cardinal Tagle?
If they do, it means they want to go back to their roots.
Philippine Roman Catholicism is still pretty much the same as it was back in the Spanish colonial era, after all, they occupied the archipelago for 300 years! It is also known as the only country still deeply rooted in the "old"/"past" Roman Catholicsm.
If you live here in the #Philippines, the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines ("CBCP") is very active in the political arena. They actively oppose same-sex marriage and anything LGBTQ related. They actively block anything related to abortion and divorce. And a lot of other sensitive and/or big topics/issues.
But, who knows?
If Cardinal Tagle becomes the next Pope, his era will be very interesting. Is he going to restore the traditions of Roman Catholicism (which is what the CBCP is probably going to expect) or will he bring in changes to Philippine Roman Catholicism (especially since he's a friend to LGBTQ people)?

2025-05-06 22:08:38 GMT

The way I understood it:
1. terrorist groups in Pakistan killed civilians in the India-controlled side of the border
2. India retaliated by hitting known sites of those terrorists
3. Pakistan hit back because they saw it as an act of war
4. Keyboard warriors are blaming India for starting a war

@nprofile…fkmf Just block it. There's nothing that can be done with it, they don't even operate here in the #Philippines.
To give context, we get scam SMS from US numbers. It's about how we have an undelivered USPS package and we should pay for it so it can be shipped. 🤣
Another scam we receive here in the Philippines using US numbers: a US soldier depliyed in Afghanistan will soon be discharged, and they're planning on migrating here in the country. They are not looking for a house, they are looking for a home because they want to marry a Filipino. 😝
Sadly, a lot of people fall for that … because many Filipinos are hopeless romantics. 😅
But they can't be stopped because they're not operating in the US nor in Afghanistan.
None of these spammers and scammers operate in the country their mobile numbers came from. On the contrary, they usually operate in the country of their targets.
Trust us, we've been dealing with SMS spams and scams for 10 years now. We've seen numbers from EU nations too! 😂

Ahh! Yes, that's an important thing to consider. Choose safety and happiness. If an on-record DX won't provide a more positive outcome than what you already have, it's usually best not to put it on-record, or not at all if you're perfectly cool with self-dx.
You're correct, there's that "fire" to stand up for others as well. I experienced it during the premiere of Extraordinary Attorney Woo. I didn't plan to go public about it, but after watching the first two episodes, I was like, "It's time to stand up". It was an inspiration for me to be Openly Autistic. I started online, not giving much face. Then started to be open about it offline too after I was interviewed in a Korean magazine (Sports Seoul) and Korean global news (Arirang). Now there's a face. 😅
I'm not saying you should do the same, but yeah, that fire inside us is strong. For me personally, I chose to stand up for others because I knew many can't, at least not publicly, and they have valid reasons why they can't be openly autistic.
And yes, we're not martyrs. We help were we can, and we know our limits. But together, we're making a difference for everyone. 🖖🏽

@nprofile…q33a Yep!
Even though they're sticking with the "AI Human" description instead of just admitting she's autistic, they are doing well on how to make her uniqueness blend with the rest. They experience conflicts, yet they resolve it. They also show how others are trying to understand her on their own, and Sabi is also doing the same.
There's a beautiful give-and-take between Sabi and her co-workers. They show her imperfections but so do the other characters. It seems that they are hoping she audiences will get the message that Sabi may be different, acts weird, and sometimes seems annoying, but at the end of the day, everyone else are to someone. It is not the differences that defines a person or how we socialise with them, rather it is how we deal with the situation and meet halfway.
They indeed showed it with the lead and FL. Instead making a big deal out of it, she waited and understood her. The FL, with all her flaws with work ethics, seems to be very observant and more understanding of other people.
Another type of person that is often misunderstood. 😅 But steps up when the situation calls for it.
I love the dynamics they have in this spin-off. I hope the rest of the audiences are catching these lessons as well!

Ooh! Enjoy it. The road to self-discovery is fun and colourful.
For "stage" 6 and 7, consider the situation in your locality and your plans for the near future.
As an example, if I may, I skipped Step 7 (on-record diagnosis) because:
1. My immediate relatives in our clan are far too sensitive about anything psychological. I just don't want to deal with their reactions.
2. The time I had a dx, I was still planning on going to some countries as either a tourist or worker. And I found out that time that there are countries "demanding" autistics must be accompanied by an Allistic or declare a relative already in their country. Also, there are airlines and establishments which demand the same. I thought, "it's going to limit my movement if I make it official/on-record?"
3. I was thinking back then that I don't need the benefits and support, and would rather have those who actually need it to have it.
So, I chose not to put in on-record that why I am not obligated to disclose it. 😅 Of course, the catch is, if it is off-the-record/unofficial, they won't believe you and you won't be able to acquire support and special privileges if any are provided.
I'm actually considering putting it on-record now, but I have to redo the entire dx process even if I go to the same psychologist. Sadly, it's more expensive today than 10 years ago! 😔 №3 is my main consideration this time, I realized, I actually need support too. I just thought I don't need it because I've been masking all these years and failing to identify it!
Anyway, if one day you'll consider a formal dx, you can decide to make it official/on-record or unofficial/off-the-record. If your country provide benefits and support, it's something to consider too.

Companies in the #Philippines don't respect Philippine Labour Laws and Human Rights when it comes to religion. It's all lip service. But you can't call them out because you'll be blocklisted in the entire labour industry. 🤦🏽🤷🏽

We're two weeks (4 episodes) in and they only further established that Sabi 사비 is #Autistic coded. They should've just made it official when they're making it obvious. 😁

As expected, #Autistic coded Sabi 사비 is getting hate because of #ResidentPlaybook #언젠가는슬기로울전공의생활 E04.
I just hope they won't feel bad against themselves once the show reveals Sabi's school years and other life experiences.

Do you know what's ironic?
Japanese phones & computers have the #Baybayin font family (Baybayin-Tagalog, Baybayin-Mangyan-Hanunoo, Baybayin-Mangyan-Buhid, & Baybayin-Tagbanwa) installed for emoticons but #Philippines computers & certain local phone brands don't.
It's a Philippine script! 🤷🏽🤦🏽 ┐(´(ᜃ)｀)┌ ╰(＾ᜂ＾)╯ (っ˘ᜂ(˘⌣˘ ) (♡ᜊ♡ ) ~♪

Subtitle translators of #Kdrama needs to be careful when translating 한강 (hangang). 한 (han) is the name & 강 (gang) means "river" so 한강 is "Han River" not "Hangang River".
It's not a tautological hydronym because in official English maps it's written as "Han River". 😁

1. Always bring your phones and tablets with you. Rescue can now detect gadgets to pinpoint it.
2. Always bring survival kits with you. It can buy you time to get rescued.
3. Employers must stop forcing their employees to surrender their phones and to store survival kits on lockers.
You often reason, "managers have phones". Come on! If that manager dies, or their phone crushed, the employees trapped with them are good as dead. And even if those managers have survival kits, don't be a fool, if you're under piles of debris, it's highly unlikely you can share it.
Employers, you often claim you care about your employees, but you increase the likelihood they'll die if the West Valley Fault moves and your office/work building collapses.
4. Employees, don't sacrifice your survival chance just for money.
5. Lastly, stop the foolish reason, "if we die, then it's our time".
What if you survive? But you were found late and they had to remove your limbs, thanks to surrendering your phones that could've been used to locate you?
Or, how about your kids? Are you okay in dying and leaving your kids behind?
That kind of thinking is a toxic Filipino trait, stop it. Aim to live. Increase your chances of survival.
We often say, "nasa Diyos ang awa, nasa tao ang gawa", live by it because it's true. G-d gave us the tools to live and survive, if we don't use it, then whatever happens to us is on us, you can't blame G-d for it, whining later, "why, why did you let this happen if you are indeed a loving G-d?"
Live! We can survive the WVF.

The WVF to the north has been traced to start exactly underneath the aging Angat Dam. The government has not released any simulation on what would happen if Angat Dam breaks (I've been asking this for 10 years now). Then there is the La Mesa Dam in Quezon City too, which is connected to Angat Dam.
The south end of the WVF is near the boundary of Tagaytay and Laguna. And it doesn't end there, when I checked the WVF map 3 weeks ago, they included suspected fault lines further south, nearer the Laguna-Batangas border.

If you check the West Valley Fault map, you'll see that homes and office buildings were built (1) on top off; (2) around the; and (3) near the fault itself in at least ⅔ of the 100-km fault line.
In addition and as an example, from where I live—Makati-Pasay boundary—we're only 6-km away from the nearest part of it. It isn't a safe area not only because we're only 6-km away, but also because we are always subjected to liquefaction, so are the City of Manila and the Western part of Parañaque and Las Piñas cities. (The government provided an earthquake hazard map 5–7 years ago, you can check it.)
Let's face it, practically nowhere in the National Capital Region / Metro Manila is safe when, not if, the West Valley Fault moves.

**A friendly reminder**
> Ariel Nepomuceno noted that the Philippines is not fully ready. He pointed out that current preparations only include basic actions like “duck, cover and hold,” and inspections of structures and houses nationwide.
> A magnitude-7.2 earthquake along the West Valley Fault could lead to an Intensity-8 ground shaking, which would make it nearly impossible for people to remain standing, while buildings and debris could collapse.
> Rodriguez warned of other earthquake-related hazards such as liquefaction, where the ground behaves like a liquid, ground ruptures, landslides and tsunamis, particularly in areas near bodies of water.

@nprofile…q2wz Yes. I get triggered when they come to your thread and starts attacking either by turning it personal or veering it away from the points while being rude. Like, "if you have nothing better to say, stay off-line". 😅
But if they're civil, and/or present a valid point or alternative, by all means let's go wild. It's more engaging and enlightening to know different views in a civilized manner than being hostile.
I love a good discussion especially for fiction. Fiction for me is a safe space to explore things without it getting personal or offensive, because it's clear it's within bounds of the fiction being discussed. But alas, I guess things are changing, or there's just far too many youngsters online these days. 😅

@nprofile…q2wz Ahh! Very good points!
The "anonymity" online handle gives also made many to forget being mindful. And yes, the "faction" thing and validation.
*sigh* I guess the others chose to be quiet because of this shift. Probably some online communities just felt it late so they were still able to hold good discussions for a while.
One more reason to really go back to blogging instead of posting in online communities. 😅

2025-03-27 11:14:27 GMT

It's starting to get tiring discussing shows in a certain online community *cough*MDL*cough* because more often that not, the people who join the discussions are emotionally charged.
I mean, remember book club meetings? We sat together to discuss the current book of the month. How did we do these discussions? We put ourselves in the shoes of the characters—what ticks them, why they do this and that, how do they think, and so on. Which in turn helped us unlock or understand the mind of the author. We don't let our own standards and emotions in. We don't look at any of it from an observer's standpoint.
Where are the people who were capable of deep and meaningful discussions in *cough*MyDramaList*cough* went to? 😁
