normally open carry for me is unnerving as well but in the woods, away from well populated trail heads, I am not taking chances. I think well populated trails have better safety measures in place but open country I am not going to take chances

I know it’s not the norm on trails but a .357 works well to clear out most predators and stop the ones that don’t.
Cougars, bear, and elk are plentiful and great from a distance but not something I want to see stalking me.

Seems like my local ISACA chapter is doing a talk on security with a Salesforce security professional.
No offense, but maybe not have people from recently breached companies not teach us security?!?
Fucking tired of failing systems be the source of our learning. Maybe highlight people actually keep systems safe.
Shit happens and good teams get screwed but to continue to highlight failed security seems like the definition of insanity.

Ran a few more long stitches and learning that canvas goes where it wants to. I need a bit more space to do stuff and let the fabric have more space so I am not tugging or struggling to keep it lined up.
Getting close to pulling it all together during lunch or after work.
Now I just want to sew but I need my GPS set up as I just got invited to ride on Saturday. Chinook Pass which is a great ride.

More progress!! Swapped out to the denim thread and got the tool slots sewn in!
My stitches are so much better now. I feel like I have so much more control and the machine is not binding.

Progress! I have the green ready for the final stitches to make the tool pockets. I need to get it measured up and the sides pinned but so far outside some less than straight lines, it’s going much better.
I also grabbed some scrap canvas and put a few rows of stitches in 2 and 3 layers. I should be ok on layers but I would like to swap out thread for thicker fabric

Still at it. I will sew. I found a few more videos that have helped me two ways;
1. This is new, it is a skill, it requires practice. It is also something that is dynamic and requires planning, and testing your machine setup.
2. A few deep dives into the machine’s functionality, mine specifically and general machine use.
I feel like I am a bit better off than yesterday knowledge wise and I have successfully made two hems totaling 46” (116cm)! Are they straight? No. Will it hold? Yep.
I would rather have my imperfect tool roll over something else.

Sewing should not be this hard. Either I am lacking fundamental knowledge or I am stupid.

It’s basic af, as a tool roll is kinda basic but it’s my first “not a class tote bag” project that I am doing from some dimensions.

Just imagine having a person who could be a full on rep for your brand but wouldn’t hire them because they are a spitting image of the brand.
Someone who knows the legacy, gets excited for new stuff, willing to spend a few extra bucks for the Bar and Shield. Someone fluent in the needs of security and compliance and automotive tech and high tech.
Someone who dragged a learning company through TISAX, knows the complexities of tech as it relates to the business, and has proof.
I don’t often think of dream jobs but yeah, it would be cool to earn a living doing my best to keep H-D moving forward into the 21st century.
Not for the company but for the legacy of a dream of so many people.

HOME! Brutal 2 hours of BS traffic and dumb cars.
I made it home, in one piece, road worn, sun burnt a bit, sore, but smiling.
Total miles rode was 944 miles / 1520 kilometers over 5 days and only hit 2 states 🤣. The west is big.
Personally I feel this was my most successful ride but not my longest.
Unpack, shower, pets, and girlfriend time. I missed them.

Rise and shine campers we got miles to throw down. Got to roll west today. Back home over the big hill. 300 miles give or take.
Gonna pack up and get on the road. Hopefully beat the wind on the plateau. Going to take it easy going home. I have all day so unlike normal I don’t have to push.
Not gonna lie, I am sore today, I think there will be more than a couple stops today to stretch. I am also going to try to get to the Pass early so I am not jammed up in weekend traffic.
I will try to keep the rubber side down.
Oh and what kind adventure would it be if I didn’t have some kind of issue! Had a butt splice repair at the campground with a leatherman.

Final ride stats. I missed a restart so add 10 miles.
Fun ride, 13 bikes, 2 trikes, and us trikes kept up with the big boys.
15 years riding Harley’s and I think I may be good enough of a rider to be called a rider.

My last year of high school just outside DC. 9:30 club, running around, WHFS on the radio.
