And this is why you should never use the MIT license for your projects. It's absolutely vulnerable to trademark and patent attacks. Prefer the Apache license, or better yet, GPL.

I've tried the exact same #LoRa properties in both #meshtastic and #meshcore (BW=250, SF=11, CR=5). In my ping tests, the maximum range with Meshtastic is at least 15% longer than MeshCore. I wonder what's causing this difference.

Given the most recent issues with #meshtastic (uncollaborative MQTT chatters, limited number of hops, difficulty in convincing others to change device roles), I decided to give MC a try. I'll document the journey here as I go.

interesting. I assume this affects both ESP32 and nRF-based devices then?
My Heltecs (both V3 and V4) are notorious for this brown-out amnesia. What I did was changing the ADC multiplier on the Meshtastic config to force it shutdown sooner (reducing the probability of looping brown-outs, and this, the probability of having the memory corrupted—though the risk still exists).

#Meshtastic and #Meshcore are the gateway drug. #Reticulum (or something similar) should be the endgame.
If we're serious about network resilience and real independence from third-party infrastructure, not just being hobbyist cool, we need a technology-agnostic convergence layer rather than depending on LoRa for everything.
