Yes I've been weighing this all up over the past couple of days.
I came to the conclusion I'd rather have the ability to just easily wipe the secondary profile before going through an airport if needed and then set it back up again afterwards.
Alternatively I figured I also wouldn't necessarily have to go full nuclear - and instead just wipe the apps that may peak their interest if they examine installed apps on Owner and re-download/set them afterwards.
Thanks for additional advice above though re encryption. That's pretty much sealed the deal.

Thanks.
I’ve set up the 2 profiles like you recommended but the Owner profile can see all the apps installed on the secondary profile when you go into settings -> applications. Private spaces is set up on secondary with those apps inside but that doesn’t seem to make a difference.
Is there a way around that? Does ‘Guest’ need to be owner-level profile and ‘Owner’ the secondary so it can’t see all installed apps?
Thanks again.

Yes your advice makes a lot of sense. Thanks ever so much. Will be using that as my core set up from now on. Where do you run Grok and Maple? KYC or non-KYC? Thanks again.

Interesting. What’s your rule-of-thumb for which Play Store apps need to run as no-KYC? Thanks in advance and for previous tips. Much appreciated. I’m about to go travelling and will be passing through many different airports with my GrapheneOS device… conscious of the attention/scrutiny it could bring.

Thanks - that’s great. I’ve avoided Google Play store so far… what’s your setup for that? Anon account with them? Do you keep Google Store app downloads separate from main/daily Graphene profile? Thanks again.

I think it’s the depth and detail contained in the historical aspect of the universe created. Tolkien’s LOTR books focus on a section of history that takes place after so much detail and context has already been built - over thousands of years. So the world feels more real and believable as a result.

My favourite translation of this is in The Message:
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭MSG‬‬

I would start by reading the gospels. I’d recommend The Message version as it uses earthy, modern language (while still being accurate).
I’d pray - reaching out into the void as if there might be something/someone else out there waiting for you. Ask Jesus to reveal himself to you - to answer or speak to something deep in you no one else is aware of - and in a way you understand.
I’d also look at reading a book called The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel.
As a side note… many people I know (myself included) have had the most powerful, life-changing encounters with Jesus / the Holy Spirit when we’re at our lowest point. Where the ego etc has been crushed and we feel empty of ourselves, strength etc. If you feel you have everything together, have your strength and health intact and are completely self-reliant - you’ll find it harder to be in a place where you can find and receive him. That’s not to say it can’t happen… but I think it’s harder - from my experience anyway.
I’ll be praying for you though - and hopefully others here will too - that you find him and you experience the life changing, and life-giving power that I and many others experience on a daily basis.
Shalom!

I agree with the idea of personal accountability/ responsibility/ ownership etc.
But I think the idea falls down in a situation for instance where a child is sexually abused. Is that somehow “by their own design”?
Some terrible things do happen in life that are outside of our control. Others can commit morally evil acts against us, stand in our way, oppress / abuse us.
Acknowledging that is very important - I don’t think it’s healthy to deny it. But you can still overcome the pain, rise above it / become successful and refuse to see yourself as a victim despite that. You can also find healing and receive the power to forgive those people via the person of Yeshua.
I know I have.

Thankfully they won’t have a choice - but they’ll make it as difficult as they can. We shouldn’t be asking for permission. Bitcoin will force them to adopt its unyielding mathematical laws eventually. #note1z56…yjdw

Repost from Author/Columnist Larry Alex Taunton (who sadly isn’t on #Nostr yet)
A NOTE (MOSTLY TO MEN):
The most important thing in your life is not the preservation of your life.
Perhaps this tweet seems random, but it comes from extensive observation of some people around the world, men in particular, whose conduct I find reprehensible when under pressure: e.g., during the pandemic, in truly dangerous situations, or in determining where and to whom they minister.
When your core ethic is self-preservation, you reduce the meaning of life to a base selfishness. When a significant part of society consists of such people it corrupts the whole of society in ways that aren’t readily perceived but are nonetheless felt.
How many times during the pandemic did we see people—I am harder on men here—whose behavior, driven by fear, was embarrassing? They were willing to live in lockdown and isolation, to abuse the unvaxxed and unmasked, and it was clear to any who watched them that nothing and no one mattered so much as themselves? In Dante’s Inferno cowards are so reviled that they are rejected by both Heaven and Hell. I second Dante’s judgment.
It is precisely this abhorrent characteristic that enables governments to incrementally rob a nation of its freedoms. Having a cynical understanding of human nature, they know that such people, when given a choice between freedom and security, will invariably choose security. Thus, governments can package the most oppressive measures as “for your safety” and many people will enthusiastically embrace them even though it is against their best interests to do so.
It’s why totalitarian regimes, or those that aspire to become totalitarian, traffic in nothing so much as fear: it’s CNN’s pandemic death count graphic, which remained on-screen through every show; it’s Jan 6th and talk of “insurrectionists” hiding in our midst; it’s claims of an environmental apocalypse; and it’s Fauci (and Bill Gates) predicting new strains of the China virus—all to manipulate you still further.
I am convinced that cowardice is, above all, the result of a godless secularism. Think about it: if you believe that this life is all you get, that there is no reward or punishment in a life hereafter, then why risk it? Why put it on the line for anyone or anything? But if you believe, as I do with my whole being, that this life is a dress rehearsal for the next, then you understand that your life has purpose that goes well beyond mere self-preservation. My Lord and my God modeled for me self-sacrifice to the point of His own life which He gave as a ransom for many. The student should model than his master.
Don’t hold your life too dearly. Indeed, you should hold a great many things to be more important than your life. My point isn’t that you should risk it willy-nilly BASE jumping or living in the wild among grizzly bears. The Lord wouldn’t have you foolishly throw your life away. But He might call on you to sacrifice it. Let that sink in. Even self-preservation should be for the sake of others, perhaps your wife and children.
Here’s a little stat for you to illustrate my point: of those who died on the Titanic, 80% were men. Of those who survived, 73% were women and children. Wow! That’s courage. That’s honorable manhood. What a desecration James Cameron’s film is to the memory of those courageous people who said, “I choose to die that others might live.” Greater love hath no man than this!
On his deathbed, King David’s charge to Solomon, his son and heir, was, “Show thyself a man.” Of all that is lacking in our society, men of courage, of conviction, must be near the top. These days too many men won’t risk their comfort or social status to stand against an ever-growing evil, much less their wealth or their lives.
That must change or the world is lost.
Rant over.
